Unpopular opinions on movies.

by NpFilmJunkie | created - 18 Sep 2020 | updated - 30 Sep 2020 | Public

There are some movies majority of people love, but I don't and some movies which I love, but the majority of people don't. It is a list of such movies and the whys behind them. I am trying to impose my opinions on anyone. Just sharing them. But, I am occasionally bashing some retarded fuckheads who are some internet wannabe fangays who think we all are entitled to their opinion. So, if you're one "fuck you" in advance. Go fuck yourself.

1. Live Free or Die Hard (2007)

PG-13 | 128 min | Action, Thriller

69 Metascore

John McClane and a young hacker join forces to take down master cyber-terrorist Thomas Gabriel in Washington D.C.

Director: Len Wiseman | Stars: Bruce Willis, Justin Long, Timothy Olyphant, Maggie Q

Votes: 420,745 | Gross: $134.53M

Majority of the people who love Die Hard films seem to hate this movie. One big reason for that happens to be the PG-13 rating for the movie, which took away the foul mouthed-ness of McClane. But, I always felt (except when it came to signature catchphrase, when they literally censored it half way), Bruce Willis did an excellent job using the PG-13 insults as McClane and it never felt weird. The movie isn't perfect and has some issues. That is the other part. And I kinda agree with those parts. But the main reason behind people not liking this movie is not a reason for me to hate it. Go get yourself the unrated cut, that's gonna help. The unrated cut is definitely better than the theatrical cut.

Rating : 8.2/10; A-

2. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

PG-13 | 107 min | Action, Sci-Fi

40 Metascore

The early years of James Logan, featuring his rivalry with his brother Victor Creed, his service in the special forces team Weapon X, and his experimentation into the metal-lined mutant Wolverine.

Director: Gavin Hood | Stars: Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Danny Huston

Votes: 530,833 | Gross: $179.88M

I can sense why a lot of people hate this movie. I won't defend this movie and I don't like it so much either. Unlike in many of the films on this list, the primary reason why I don't really like it coincide with why majority of people don't like it. But I don't think it's the worst thing ever. Even not the worst among X-Men films (that's Dark Phoenix). But in the middle of that, there is an okay story (not quite properly told) which is kinda interesting and could've been a part of a much, much better movie.

Rating : 5.2/10; ,C.

3. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991)

R | 89 min | Fantasy, Horror

39 Metascore

Dream-haunting Freddy Krueger returns once again to prowl the nightmares of Springwood's last surviving teenager, and of a woman whose personal connection to Krueger may mean his doom.

Director: Rachel Talalay | Stars: Robert Englund, Lisa Zane, Shon Greenblatt, Lezlie Deane

Votes: 51,020 | Gross: $34.87M

Many consider this the bottom of the barrel of the Nightmare film series. And I don't agree. It's so bad that it's hilarious. It's looney tunes of the Nightmare series. Whatever it does isn't right, and was always intended to be that way. But it's still within the "nightmare setup" that these films are supposed to be. And I think the two or three minutes of the final act giving us a glimpse of Freddy's past could've made a nice dark Freddy origins film. I love it, though for all the reasons I am supposed to hate it.

Rating : 2.3/10; F.

4. Man of Steel (2013)

PG-13 | 143 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

55 Metascore

An alien child is evacuated from his dying world and sent to Earth to live among humans. His peace is threatened when other survivors of his home planet invade Earth.

Director: Zack Snyder | Stars: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane

Votes: 812,145 | Gross: $291.05M

I hated this film when I first watched it. But watching it four or five times since, it has gotten better and better. It's just my experience with the different tone it has for a Superman movie. But, DC fangays, I don't like it for the reasons you keep coming with to defend every single second of it. It's NOT a fucking misunderstood masterpiece. It has its dumb moments. Some parts are pure nonsense. But as a movie, overall, it's very good. I don't hate it because it's not the traditional Superman. And certainly, I don't love it because it's a misunderstood masterpiece like some internet badasses think it is, and also, certainly not because I should respect Snyder's vision.

IT'S NOT A MOVIE LIKE INCEPTION, OR SHUTTER ISLAND, OR MEMENTO! IT'S A FUCKING TYPICAL SUPERHERO MOVIE YOU FUCKHEADS!! YOU THINK YOU UNDERSTAND THINGS BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE, WELL THEN YOU'RE FUCKING RETARDED AND DELUSIONAL ASSHOLES!!! THESE RETARDED DC WANNABE FANBOYS AND ZACK SNYDER BALL LICKERS RUINED THE MOVIE FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE!! YOU GUYS ARE CANCEROUS!!!! (Same goes for Marvel wannabe fanboys and retards, I don't discriminate)

Rating : 8.1/10; A-

5. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

PG-13 | 144 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

52 Metascore

In the 1980s the X-Men must defeat an ancient all-powerful mutant, En Sabah Nur, who intends to thrive through bringing destruction to the world.

Director: Bryan Singer | Stars: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult

Votes: 461,327 | Gross: $155.44M

Yet another movie I don't really hate so much. There's a problem regarding the central villain, I thought it was a great idea to have a villain like Apocalypse in a world ending stake. But we don't feel those stakes and there's a huge gap between the ambition and execution of the movie. But there's a lot of things that are good, though it may be because First Class and Days of Future Past were extremely great. If you take away Apocalypse and just call him some other villain, it won't be that terrible. There characters are still there and have many nice moments, and callbacks.
