The first-ever Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner and his wife Theresa Nist announced on Good Morning America that they have mutually decided to “dissolve our marriage.” This many years into the storied ABC franchise, not much will surprise Bachelor Nation (the term for the reality dating show’s devoted audience). But news of a Golden Bachelor divorce coming only three months after their televised Jan. 4 Golden Wedding gave the beloved senior couple a new “history-making” title: the fastest-ever Bachelor franchise divorce.
Their union lasted only 100 days, the shortest-ever marriage across more than 20 years of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and its many spinoffs, including Bachelor in Paradise. So, what led to the septuagenarians who reinvigorated both franchise ratings and overall sentiment around the dating franchise calling it off?
During their GMA sit-down, anchor Juju Chang asked if reports about Turner’s past led to their split. (On the day before the Nov.

Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist were the first Golden Bachelor couple, and less than two months after their engagement was revealed on television on Nov. 30, 2023, they tied the knot in the ABC franchise’s first-ever Golden Wedding.
Now, about three months after the televised event on Jan. 4, the Bachelor‘s history-making couple have announced they are getting a divorce.
They sat down with Good Morning America to reveal their decision but offered little to an audience that will want to know what happened after witnessing their inspiring later-in-life love story unfold. ABC News interviewer Juju Chang’s takeaway after the sit-down was, “It’s a head-scratcher.”

Julie Chen Moonves admits she never revealed her true feelings about her exit from “The Talk” until she released her audio memoir, “But First, God,” in which she describes the choice as one she herself didn’t want to make.
“That was a hard time. I felt stabbed in the back,” Chen Moonves said in an interview on Good Morning America with Juju Chang. “I was.”
Chang brought up Chen Moonves’ description of her exit from “The Talk” as “a decision made for her.” Chang also brought up reconciliation, which Chen Moonves folds into her spiritual journey outlined in the book, and when Chang brought up whether Chen Moonves had ever asked her husband, Les Moonves, former CEO of CBS, about the truth of the sexual assault allegations brought against him, she answered calmly.

Julie Chen Moonves said she questioned her husband, Leslie Moonves, over the 2018 sexual abuse allegations that resulted in his resignation as CBS CEO and disputed a previous statement that she made the decision to leave The Talk after a decade as co-host.
Chen Moonves opened up about both topics, while also declining to discuss the “believe her” movement with Juju Chang on Good Morning America on Monday. The Big Brother host appeared as part of a segment promoting her new memoir, But First, God, in which she details how in the past five years she “found God.” It’s an experience she says changed her from her a “self-absorbed, career-minded, vain, gossipy, fun to be with, but probably kind of a shallow person.”
During the discussion, Chen Moonves claimed that despite her statement announcing her departure from The Talk in 2018 as a move of her own, her exit was not on her own terms.

ABC’s ‘20/20‘ brings viewers a gripping account of how a bizarre false confession led authorities astray in the investigation of the first murder committed by Keith Hunter Jesperson, infamously known as the “Happy Face Killer.” This two-hour program, airing on Friday, August 25 from 9:01 to 11:00 p.m. Edt, delves into the chilling story of how Laverne Pavlinac’s fabricated confession diverted attention from Jesperson, enabling him to remain at large and claim the lives of at least seven more women before his eventual arrest.
The False Confession That Derailed the Investigation
In 1990, after the discovery of Taunja Bennett’s body in the Columbia Gorge, 57-year-old Laverne Pavlinac confessed to police that she and her boyfriend, John Sosnovske, had committed the crime. Her detailed and convincing account led to their convictions and life sentences. However, Pavlinac’s confession turned out to be a web of lies concocted to escape an abusive relationship with Sosnovske.

Things got a bit tense on “The View” on Monday, as hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro exchanged a few barbed comments about their work environments.
The conversation came late in Hot Topics, as the women discussed if the idea of “toxic femininity” is real, and something they’ve experienced in life. And for the most part, the hosts noted that they had, particularly in a work environment, but they all agreed that women should be supporting each other professionally.
“I think that women have made a ton of progress, but we can also be each other’s worst enemies. It’s still the case,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said. “And I hate to say it; some of the worst bosses I’ve had have been women, and sometimes colleagues in the workplace who were women. The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, Sep. 19, is shaping up to be a global spectacle. World leaders, including President Biden, will be in attendance, and the world’s media will be there, too.
The queen’s funeral will be the first time such an event has been broadcast on television. In 1952, when Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne, the funeral procession of King George VI was televised in the U.K., but the funeral itself remained private. Not so this time.
While the BBC will be the official broadcaster of the proceedings, every U.S. TV news organization will be in attendance, flying in many of their top anchors and blowing up their typical programming lineups to carry it live.
Here’s what’s planned from the U.S. TV news networks.

The women of “The View” won’t be believing anyone who says that abortion won’t be criminalized thanks to the reversal of Roe v. Wade anytime soon.
During Thursday’s episode, the hosts got into the problems that are cropping up nationwide as states continue to try and figure out what’s legal and what isn’t following the reversal of the precedent that secured a woman’s right to choose what’s best for her own body. The women expressed their outrage over states that penalize the people who help women get an abortion, by providing travel, lodging or any other means of assistance, arguing that the inevitable next step will be criminally charging women who have one.
Guest host Juju Chang noted that she’s spoken to anti-abortion activists who say that won’t happen — that the focus will remain only on doctors and people who help...

Britney Spears has responded to her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’ recent ABC News interview, in which she spoke about their relationship and defended her role in the pop star’s 13-year conservatorship.
In a series of Notes app screenshots posted to Twitter on Thursday, Britney Spears wrote about how she watched the interview, parts of which aired on both “Good Morning America” and “Nightline,” while she had a 104-degree fever.
“It was actually kind of nice having a fever so high cause I had to surrender to not caring,” she wrote. Britney Spears then explained why she took issue with some of what her younger sister said in the interview, which was to promote her new memoir, “Things I Should Have Said.” This included Jamie Lynn Spears describing some of her past behavior as “erratic” and defending her tribute performance at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards, during which she sang remixes of Britney Spears’ songs.
