Robinne Lee, the author of The Idea of You, regrets initially stating that the story was inspired by Harry Styles.
In a new interview, Lee explains why the fictional British boy band member, Hayes Campbell, was not just inspired by the former One Direction member after many have compared it to writing fan fiction.
“I don’t consider it fan fiction at all,” Lee said in an interview with EW. “Harry was one of multiple people who went into creating Hayes Campbell — he was the only one in a British boy band that was current at the time, I guess, and so that’s what people have latched onto. It’s unfortunate because it’s being used as clickbait, and when I’m writing for Hayes, I’m not picturing Harry Styles.”
Lee said that the fictional character, played by Nicholas Galitzine in the Prime Video film, us a combination of many real-life people.

The new movie The Idea of You is based on the best-selling book by Robinne Lee and it has often been considered to be “Harry Styles fan fiction,” something that she doesn’t feel is an accurate way to describe her work.
The Idea of You tells the story of a 40-year-old single mom who starts a romance with the 24-year-old lead singer of a popular boy band.
Robinne once mentioned that she drew inspiration from Harry Styles for lead character Hayes Campbell, which led to fans labeling the book as fan fiction.
Now, Robinne explains why she regrets ever bringing up the Harry inspiration.

Madonna, the iconic “Queen of Pop,” stands at a height of 5ft 3 ¼ inches (160.7 cm) with a peak height of 5ft 4 inches (162.6 cm).
At the 2013 Billboard Music Awards held in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 19, singer Madonna, whose peak height was 5ft 4 inches (162.6 cm), stood at 5ft 3 ¼ inches (160.7 cm) as she posed in the press room (Credit: Kathy Hutchins / Shutterstock)
The Impact of Height in Celebrity Self-Perception: Madonna’s Perspective
She once mentioned feeling like a “shrimp” in an interview due to her height, although she believed it was average. For context, the average American woman typically has a height of around 5 feet 4 inches.
I’ve always wanted to be taller. I feel like a shrimp, but that’s the way it goes. I’m five-foot four-and-a-half-inches – that’s actually average. Everything about me is average. Everything’s normal, in the books. It’s the things inside me that make me not average.

When Zendaya attended a screening of her new sultry tennis drama Challengers this week, she wore a gray T-shirt with the words “I Told Ya” printed in bold black letters. The casual shirt was a noticeable change from the crisp whites and sour greens of the tennis-themed couture the star has donned during the Challengers international press tour, but it too was a callback to the movie.

Jack Kennedy Schlossberg is heating up the internet with a steamy shirtless selfie that is now going viral across social media.
The 31-year-old grandson of President John F. Kennedy took to his Instagram Stories on Friday night (April 19) to share a selfie that he seemingly snapped in a hotel gym.
The photo features Jack going shirtless while wearing workout shorts that were pulled down a bit below his waist. He used a butterfly emoji to cover up any private parts from appearing in the image. People on social media are noting how much he looks like his late uncle, JFK Jr.
Jack also shared a photo of a sign that read, “no shirt, no shoes, no service.” Looks like he wasn’t going to be served at that business!

Real Sex and the City fans know that over the course of six seasons, Carrie Bradshaw had impressively abysmal taste in men (Berger, Politician Pee Guy, the stoner dude who lived with his parents….the list goes on). But even a broken clock is right twice a day, and amidst all those duds, a few gems have stood out. Most notably, there’s Ben, Carrie’s bespectacled, shaggy-haired politics writer in the Season Two episode “Freak Show,” with whom she famously blows it after he catches her rummaging through his...

In the very first "Futurama" episode, "Space Pilot 3000" (which is full of hidden clues), the dim-witted Fry (Billy West) awakens in the year 2999 after being cryogenically frozen for a millennium. Fry immediately encounters a bizarre future world he doesn't understand. He is informed that, in the 30th century, human beings are implanted with career chips that will determine their professional fate for the rest of their lives. Fry is told that he has been selected by the computer to be a delivery boy -- the same profession he held back in 1999. Fry, terrified by the prospect, flees into the streets of New New York, the city built on the ruins of Old New York.
Fry is disoriented by what he sees. Aliens and robots stroll the sidewalks, and spacecraft whiz past overhead. He spots a few suicide booths on street corners. Most impressively, he sees a vast, tall network of...

Update: Robert Kennedy Jr. apologized to family members for a Super Bowl spot that mimicked an ad run by his uncle John F. Kennedy during his 1960 presidential run.
“I’m so sorry if the Super Bowl advertisement caused anyone in my family pain,” Kennedy wrote on X/Twitter. “The ad was created and aired by the American Values Super Pac without any involvement or approval from my campaign. Fec rules prohibit Super PACs from consulting with me or my staff. I love you all. God bless you.”
Kennedy did pin the ad to his X/Twitter account, where it remains.
Bobby Shriver, Kennedy’s cousin, objected to the spot, writing that his mother Eunice “would be appalled by his deadly health care views.” Mark Shriver wrote that he agreed with that sentiment against the ad, and Maria Shriver retweeted her brother’s objections.

The world has changed dramatically since the events of the third season, but to catch exactly how much, you need to pay close attention to the opening sequence that runs down the significant events of the past eight years.
For All Mankind Season 4 Episode 1 is indicative of the season as a whole, which foregoes the excitement of the exploratory phase of space travel to unravel the fact that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
As it turns out, no matter how technologically advanced the world becomes, the issues that plague us today are bound to resurface.
The opening sequence explains in short order how the world has advanced in the past eight years, but there is much left unsaid, which makes it somewhat difficult to understand why what's happening is happening.

I had completely forgotten that Ryan Murphy’s American franchise was expanding with a new pair of spin-offs, and the first is finally moving forward. American Sports Story will focus on Aaron Hernandez, the former New England Patriots player who was found guilty of murder and later killed himself. THR reports that Jose Andrés Rivera has been tapped to star as Aaron Hernandez in American Sports Story. Deadline added that Patrick Schwarzenegger (Gen V) has also joined the cast as Tim Tebow.
American Sports Story will be based on the Boston Globe and Wondery podcast Gladiator: Aaron Hernandez and Football Inc., and will be scripted by Stu Zicherman (The Americans). The season will chart “the rise and fall of the former New England Patriots tight end who was convicted for murder and ultimately took his own life. Do fashion fans crave easy elegance or high-wattage glamour? Every woman can indulge in either as she (rightly) wishes, if the Spring/Summer 2024 collections that just bowed during New York Fashion Week are any indication.
Designers either overtly or subtly stated that chic women need not feel constrained by any one must-have trend for the season; instead, she should embrace her inner goddess, whether she’s into the classic details of a crisp, beautifully cut white blouse or prefers an A-line white miniskirt that’s slit to reveal a leg longer than a typical traffic backup on the 405 freeway. And A-list fashion fans ranging from Blake Lively and Halle Berry to Mary J. Blige, Laverne Cox, Lucy Hale and Stephanie Hsu seem to heartily agree with this approach.

For some reason, this Sunday’s “60 Minutes” will feature a lengthy interview with Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green, the QAnon subscriber who has frequently expressed racist, antisemitic and homophobic rhetoric and elevated far-right conspiracy theories in ways that will feel both laughable and highly dangerous.
Lesley Stahl, America’s favorite prickly grandma (who we all loved seeing in “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On”) conducted the interview, which was promoted via a tone-deaf tweet that said the Georgia Republican “isn’t afraid to share her opinions, no matter how intense and in-your-face they are.”
And people have been responding to the tweet … appropriately.
Writer, journalist and big-time sneakerhead Russ Bengtson wrote, simply, “Delete your TV show,” with actor Paul Tefler tweeting, “Phew boy, how low you’ve sunk here.”

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene had some complaints to air out about her job this week, including how she hates having to deal with people saying “crazy things” to her that they picked up from the internet. And of course, “The Daily Show” guest host Chelsea Handler couldn’t help but laugh at the irony there.

Seth Meyers does not see any kind of future in which twice-impeached former president Donald Trump changes his ways. In fact, if it were to happen, the “Late Night” host says it’ll be a sign that Trump needs to be moved to a retirement home.
During Wednesday night’s “A Closer Look” segment, Meyers marveled at how reports indicate that a large portion of the Republican party want to move on from Trump, but no one is actually taking concrete steps to make that happen. During an appearance on CNN, The Atlantic writer McKay Coppins noted that some were hoping that Trump might just bow out of the 2024 race voluntarily.
And Meyers couldn’t help but laugh at the idea that the former president, who is under multiple investigations for everything from his business practices to his 2020 election lies, might see the error of his ways.

Artist Jim Shaw’s studio is a dream factory. It’s where images and ideas combine in unnatural and often surreal ways, conjuring visual puns like the smiling visage of Esther Williams superimposed with an image of her lover, actor Jeff Chandler, wearing a gown. A matching piece shows Chandler with a hermaphroditic image of Williams in the pose of Botticelli’s Venus de Milo. Both pieces were inspired by rumors that Williams ended their affair upon learning Chandler was a transvestite.
“I just kind of ended up working with elements of Hollywood,” Shaw says of his new show, Jim Shaw: Thinking the Unthinkable, at Gagosian Beverly Hills from Jan. 12 through Feb. 25. “I’ve been interested in sort of the history, along with politics, of LSD and psychedelics. I came across that Esther Williams had taken LSD, and that led me to reading her autobiography. When she finally took LSD,...

A fourth season of Ryan Murphy‘s “American Crime Story” is in the works, but may no longer focus on Studio 54. A year and a half after announcing the development of “Studio 54: American Crime Story,” FX Chairman John Landgraf said the subject matter is now up in the air.
“On ‘American Crime Story,’ we haven’t designated a subsequent successor or season,” Landgraf said during his executive session Thursday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “We have other things in development, but we haven’t landed on one of them and said, ‘Yes, this is going to be the fourth season of ‘American Crime Story.’”
FX previously said in August 2021 that “Studio 54” would tell the story of the establishment of the famed nightclub in 1977 by Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager, who were convicted of tax fraud three years later.

As the biggest rock band of the 20th century, the Beatles were naturally also the subject of an infamous conspiracy theory. According to urban legend, Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was replaced by an imposter, with his surviving bandmates leaving cryptic clues to the coverup in their music and album art.

Following the return of former Daily Show host Jon Stewart’s Apple TV+ series The Problem, several clips have caught fire online for the political commentator and comedian’s acute interviewing style. A subdued version of his time on the Comedy Central institution he helped build, Stewart’s calm and unrelenting in his effort to achieve truth and accountability from his subjects — even when they won’t deliver it themselves.
Current Daily Show correspondent Jordan Klepper is all of that, too. His modus operandi is just… different. An “unwilling straight man” — a label Klepper tells The Hollywood Reporter he’d consider using himself — the comedian combines his love of the clarification question (with a sardonic twist) and a man-on-the-street style to expose the ridiculous and sometimes frightening ideas floating around the country. “The Daily Show” will be launching a new, six-episode limited series podcast from Jordan Klepper, TheWrap can exclusively reveal.
“Jordan Klepper Fingers the Conspiracy” will see the host “step off the trail to dig deep into some of the wildest theories he’s heard, and trace their origins with journalists, experts, and anyone who might have a lead on when JFK Jr. is coming back,” per a logline from Comedy Central.
“In his adventures into Maga country, Jordan Klepper encounters some of the more imaginative, conspiratorial minds America has to offer,” the logline continues. The podcast “offers an opportunity to better understand the stories Americans tell themselves.”
The podcast is an evolution of the Comedy Central star’s Emmy-nominated “Jordan Klepper Fingers the Pulse,” which features the host questioning and satirizing attendees of Donald Trump rallies, anti-vaccine gatherings and other Maga-affiliated events.

“The Daily Show” correspondent Jordan Klepper attended yet another political rally to talk to Trump supporters about the state of the country, this time in Wisconsin. While there, he touched on the issues plaguing those voters the most, like the 2020 election fraud conspiracy.
“I’m not going to be a conspiracist or anything like that,” one woman told him. “But, I just watched a movie last week with Robin Williams in it. It was called ‘Man of the Year.’ And guess what? They had election fraud back then. The machines are switching to doing [things] electronically, and they were counting wrong.”
The 2006 film to which she refers stars Williams as a comedian and the host of a news satire program who decides to run for President, and a malfunction with a computerized voting machine gets him elected.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis always encouraged her son to follow his heart, take risks and not get swallowed up by the burden of expectations. She was proud of the young attorney, who was also a tireless athlete who would trek into the wilderness by himself, climb mountains, scuba dive and tear through the streets of New York on his bicycle—or rollerblades. But she didn't want John F. Kennedy Jr. anywhere near the cockpit of a plane. "Please don't do it," the former first lady of the United States told John, one of her two surviving children from her marriage to President John F. Kennedy. “Murphy Brown” is returning to television on CBS for 13 episodes during the 2018-2019 season. And while a lot has changed in media since Candice Bergen’s Brown hosted the fictional news broadcast “Fyi,” one thing that hasn’t changed is how hard it is to find good help. One of the longest recurring gags on “Murphy Brown” was how nearly every week Brown had a new wacky and incompetent secretary, everyone a man with a Hitler mustache to a pleasant looking woman who worshipped Satan. Over 90 people sat in that assistant’s chair over the show’s 10 seasons, including some celebrity cameos, but not one of them lasted.

Ask not what Maud Shaw did for the Kennedys... because you can read all about it in her diary, which was just sold for $3,327 by Boston's Rr Auction house. Maud worked as the family's nanny from 1957, when Caroline was born, until 1965, when she retired (she died at 85 in 1988). A proper English nanny in the Mary Poppins tradition, Maud kept records of the Kennedy kids' development. "Says Da- Da, laughs very loudly, play[s] pat-a-cake," she wrote of Caroline in 1959. Three years later, she noted that John F. Kennedy Jr. was "repeating words after me — very well." (Photo Credit: PR Auction) The 22-page diary ends in 1962, but Maud later wrote a book, White House Nannie: My Years with Caroline and John Kennedy Jr., that revealed how she broke the news to six-year-old Caroline that her father had been killed. Jacqueline's mom, Janet Auchincloss, thought it best for her to do it due...

Discovery Inc. made a splashy presentation of an expanded programming lineup at its upfront Tuesday evening, touting the breadth of the lifestyle niches the cable group serves after acquiring the parent company of Food Network, Hgtv and Travel Channel for $14.6 billion earlier this year.
Discovery president-ceo David Zaslav opened the session at Alice Tully Hall by talking up the appeal of the company’s “functional content” as good counter-programming at a time when the TV world is awash in scripted programs.
“We don’t do red carpet, we don’t do Hollywood stars,” Zaslav said. “We pretty much don’t have actors.”
Discovery’s differentiator is that its core channels are built around subjects that have natural and often passionate affinity groups. Viewers of Discovery, Animal Planet, Food Network, Science Channel and such “tune in for a curated brand that gets them.”
