Just like Hollywood celebrities, members of the royal family also know to smile and act a certain way when cameras are on them. This was especially true the day Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did their joint interview after announcing their engagement since Meghan was being introduced to many people around the world for the first time. The pair kept things cool for the most part while the cameras were rolling but were messing around when they weren’t rolling or at least when they thought they weren’t rolling.
A video making the rounds shows how shocked the two were when they were goofing off and didn’t realize anyone was still watching them.

The world was first introduced to Meghan Markle as Prince Harry’s fiancée in November 2017. The couple subsequently sat down for an engagement interview that, in hindsight, was very telling. As she spoke to the BBC, Meghan didn’t believe she was “giving anything up” by marrying Harry and starting a new life in England. Here’s what she said.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle debuted as a couple at the Invictus Games in September 2017. This public outing came on the heels of months of speculation their relationship had turned serious.
Harry and Meghan posed for photographers two months later at Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden. The location was significant as the area was one of Princess Diana’s favorite places in her former home.

BBC journalists have hit back at claims made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their new Netflix documentary over the couple’s engagement interview.
In the new six-part docuseries, the first three episodes of which dropped on the streamer yesterday, the couple claim an interview they gave to the BBC in 2017 about their engagement was “orchestrated” and “rehearsed.” Meghan also said in the documentary: “We weren’t allowed to tell our story because they didn’t want [us to].”
She does not clarify whether “they” refers to the Royal Family or the BBC.
The BBC interview, which the couple gave shortly after their engagement was announced in 2017, was conducted by one the network’s most esteemed journalists, Mishal Husain.
Now, some of the BBC’s top journalists – including Husain – have disputed the couple’s claims, as well as their assertion the British media was out to “destroy” Meghan.

The BBC journalist who conducted Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s engagement interview has responded to Markle’s claim that it was an “orchestrated reality show”.
Mishal Husain said “recollections may vary” about the interview after she posed the questions in 2017 when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were getting married.
Reflecting on the exchange in her bombshell Netflix documentary, Markle said it was staged.
“It was, you know, rehearsed,” she said. “So we did the thing out with the press and then we went right inside, took the coat off, sat down and did the interview. So it was all in that same moment.”
Speaking in the third episode of Harry & Meghan, she added that the couple were told what to expect during the interview.

Like the Doctor in the Tardis, the new presenter of University Challenge will know they have a hard act to follow, as Jeremy Paxman’s withering looks and razor-sharp question-mastery have become part of the show’s very identity. And, much like the new Doctor, when the BBC announced it would name University Challenge’s next host later this week, it prompted fierce speculation on social media.
So who could it be? While former Question Time and Newsnight presenters make some obvious choices, the new host will need to be someone with enough time in their schedule, and popular picks like Clive Myrie and Jeremy Vine are already busy with quiz shows Mastermind and Eggheads, respectively.
But that still leaves us with plenty of predictions. Fingers on buzzers! Here’s our starter for ten…

Ridley Scott has confirmed that live-action TV series of two of his most enduring movies, “Blade Runner” and “Alien,” are fast progressing, with pilots written for both shows.
Speaking with the BBC on Monday, the “House of Gucci” helmer suggested the “Blade Runner” adaptation is being plotted as a 10-episode series: “We [have already] written the pilot for ‘Blade Runner’ and the bible. So, we’re already presenting ‘Blade Runner’ as a TV show, the first 10 hours.”
Scott said “Alien” was getting a “similar” treatment. A pilot is being written along with a bible of what transpires in 8-10 hours of the show.
News of an “Alien” series was first announced in December 2020. The show is being set up at cabler FX, with Noah Hawley attached as showrunner. FX boss John Landgraf described the project last year as “the first ‘Alien’ story set on Earth — and by blending both the timeless horror...

U.K. broadcaster the BBC has recorded an overall profit of £227 million ($314.2 million) for the financial year 2020/2021, an upswing from the previous year’s £119 million loss, the organization’s annual report has revealed.
The surge is largely fuelled by the BBC’s main income earner, TV license fees collected from the public, rising from £3.52 billion to £3.75 billion. In August 2020, people over the age of 75 were required to pay for TV licenses, with few exemptions.
The corporation also reduced the salaries it paid to staff earning more than £150,000 a year by an average of 10%, including star soccer commentator Gary Lineker and BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball. However, the top 10 on-air presenters all continue to be white. Some 20% of the talent list are from ethnic minorities backgrounds, an improvement of 2% from last year, but the pay gap for minorities has increased from 3% in the last financial year to 3.3%.

They've got babies on the brain, apparently! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot on May 19, and now, Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, has revealed that his daughter has "wanted children for a long time." In a new interview with Good Morning Britain, Thomas — who ended up not attending Meghan's nuptials last month — shared he thinks the two will become parents "sooner or later." He said, "When she met Harry she spoke about how much she loved him and so there has to be a child making somewhere soon. I don’t think there is a stork in the air yet but I think it will happen sooner or later." This isn't the first time someone close to Meghan has spoken to the idea of her becoming a mom. Meghan's former friend and agent, Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne, opened up in the documentary Harry and Meghan: A Love Story about how Meghan...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just tied the knot last month at Windsor Castle in England, but the subject of having kids had already come up a few times before then. Following their engagement announcement in November, Harry opened up about starting a family with the former Suits actress during a joint interview with BBC. When asked by reporter Mishal Husain about whether he and Meghan are planning on having kids anytime soon, Harry replied, "Not yet, no, but I think eventually, one step at a time, and we'll start a family in the near future."
Now it seems the "near future" might be sooner than we thought. According to Us Weekly, the newlyweds plan to have kids "right away." Now that planning a wedding is out of the way, "having children is definitely a priority," the outlet reports. "She and Harry want to start a family right away -...

So sweet! Meghan Markle's future daughter will be one lucky girl. While the royal is known for flashing her stunning engagement ring featuring Princess Diana's diamonds, she also has another meaningful piece of jewelry in her collection — a nearly $7,000 Cartier French Tank Watch. "I've always coveted the Cartier French Tank Watch," she told Hello! magazine in 2015. "When I found out Suits had been picked up for our third season — which, at the time, felt like such a milestone — I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version." (Photo Credit: Getty Images) The best part? It has a sweet message engraved on it! "I had it engraved on the back, 'To M.M. From M.M.' and I plan to give it to my daughter one day," she said at the time. "That's what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them." The royal family is known for passing down jewels.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle totally get one other.
While the couple came off incredibly poised in their first interview after announcing their engagement on Monday, The Telegraph shared a behind-the-scenes video on Tuesday of the two taking a moment to joke around after the microphones were turned off.
And while Harry and Meghan's talk of their proposal and undercover relationship was incredibly romantic, these candid moments between the two may be even cuter.
The 36-year-old actress adorably makes animated gestures as the two let off some steam, while Harry makes funny faces of his own. The two don't stop laughing, and by all appearances, are more in love than ever.
During Harry and Meghan's interview with Mishal Husain of BBC News, the two revealed they met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend.

The BBC has been making its own headlines this week, after being required to report the salaries of its staff and stars. The organization is the UK’s public broadcaster and, while it’s partly funded by its commercial interests, such as BBC Worldwide, it operates largely due to funds from UK television licence fees which are set by the government – and it’s therefore funded by public money. The report has generated a great deal of negative press, however, due to the blatant pay-gaps that are shown to exist in terms of both gender and ethnicity. This raises interesting questions, given that the BBC also made headlines this week by announcing that the new star of Doctor Who would be a woman.
According to the figures reported, the outgoing Doctor – Peter Capaldi – earned between £200,000, and £249,000 in his final year. The new Doctor – Jodie Whittaker – has not yet begun her Tardis tenure,...
