After months of warnings and several lawsuits, health-adjacent fast-casual eatery Panera is finally discontinuing its line of Charged Lemonade drinks. The news comes as the chain has come under heavy criticism for the amount of caffeine in the drinks, which will be removed from the menu.
In a statement shared with Rolling Stone, a spokesperson for Panera said the move is part of an ongoing menu transformation. “We listened to more than 30,000 guests about what they wanted from Panera, and are focusing next on the broad array of beverages we...

Barack Obama will appear as a guest on the Nov. 17 episode of “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah,” Variety has learned exclusively. The episode airs on Comedy Central at 11 p.m.
In conversation with Noah, the former president will discuss the Obama Foundation Democracy Forum and critical issues facing America and the world today. The interview will be Obama’s third with Noah, and his first in-studio. He previously appeared in a 2020 virtually taped episode, and did one of his final interviews as president with Noah at the White House.
The interview comes the week after the midterm elections that won the Republican party control of the House of Representatives — ending two years headed by the Democrats — and just days after Obama’s successor, the twice impeached Donald Trump, announced his bid to return to the White House in 2024.
The Obama interview will also mark a highlight for the end...

Trevor Noah has set his exit date.
The Daily Show host will end his time in the hot-seat on Thursday December 8.
It comes after the comedian surprised everyone, including his Paramount Global boss Chris McCarthy and his colleagues, after announcing his departure during an afternoon taping on September 29.
Noah shocked late-night fans by announcing that he was leaving the Comedy Central series but it was clear that a plan hadn’t been formulated with no exit date announced last month.
That has finally been worked out and he’s now got a couple of months left hosting the show.
The Daily Show will return in January on Tuesday January 17 with the company saying that “additional details” will be forthcoming. Whether ViacomCBS will have found a permanent new host by then is unclear or whether one of his trusted correspondents – Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Desi Lydic, Dulcé Sloan or Roy Wood Jr...

Trevor Noah and his Daily Show team are taking their show on the road.
It marks the first time that the Comedy Central late-night series has gone on the move in such a big way since the Covid pandemic began.
The show will cover the midterm elections from the battleground state. It will record full shows from Tabernacle in downtown Atlanta between October 31 and November.
The Daily Show has long covered the elections from the ground, having previously taken the show to Ohio and Florida. This year’s coverage is dubbed Votedemic 2022.

“The Daily Show” is hitting the road for midterms again. This fall, host Trevor Noah will take his Comedy Central late-night series to battleground territory in Atlanta, Ga.
While on-the-ground election coverage is nothing new for “The Daily Show,” which has previously moved to Ohio and Florida for midterms, the decision to head to Georgia for the first time is “highlighting key races and broader voting issues,” per the Paramount show. This also marks the show’s first time back on the road in a while, having just returned to its own home studio in New York City back in April following two years of doing the show remotely amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Noah will be recording full “Daily Show” shows from the Tabernacle in downtown Atlanta leading up to election night to cap off the late-night talker’s “Votedemic 2022” midterm election coverage. Episodes are set to air nightly from Oct.

Joe Biden is going on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah as he continues his campaign media blitz.
The former Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee will appear on the Comedy Central show this evening, June 10. He will speak remotely to the South African comedian in the 45-minute talk-show.
Biden’s appearance comes a day after he addressed George Floyd’s six-year-old daughter Gianna in an emotional video played at Floyd’s funeral in Houston.
Biden has been ramping up the number of interviews he gives in recent weeks, particularly to those with younger skewing platforms. He got in slight warm water after an appearance on Charlemagne Tha God’s radio show The Breakfast Club and appeared on CBS’ The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
In addition to its linear airing, the interview will also be available on all of the series’ social platforms, including The Daily Show’s YouTube channel.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah continues to expand – returning after a two-week hiatus with an extended one-hour episode.
The Comedy Central series will return at 11 tonight, June 8, with guests including Black Visions Collective organizer Miski Noor and Super Bowl champion and NFL Players Coalition co-founder Anquan Boldin.
It is the latest move to extend the show past its previous 30-minute form. It started airing 45-minute episodes from April 27, amid the global pandemic. The South African comedian told Deadline last month that he wanted to expand the show to incorporate more global news but not at the expense of domestic news.
Noah, one of the few late-night talk show hosts of color, likely will have lots to say on the hourlong special, coming the day before the funeral of George Floyd, whose killing sparked a social uprising in the country.

Steve Bodow, a longstanding presence at Comedy Central’s “Daily Show,” expects to step down from his role as one of the program’s executive producers in 2019. Bodow informed staff of his decision this morning, a Comedy Central spokeswoman confirmed.
He has been with the program since 2002, meaning he has seen the rise of the show’s profile along with the growing influence of Jon Stewart, as well as the transition to Trevor Noah. Jen Flanz, Jill Katz and host Trevor Noah will remain as executive producers of the program.
Deadline previously reported Bodow’s departure. Comedy Central does not plan to replace Bodow, the network spokeswoman confirmed.
His departure comes after another top late-night producer, Mike Dicenzo, announced he would step down from his role at NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Bodow has been executive producer since 2013, and has worked at the program as a writer and supervising producer as well.

Something vaguely shocking: Trevor Noah taking over "The Daily Show" almost feels like a non-event. Maybe it's because we're slightly hungover, hot-take-wise, from Stephen Colbert taking over "The Late Show." Maybe it's because, beyond his initial opening monologue, it's relatively business as usual for the series. "The Daily Show With Trevor Noah" might have a new name, but much of the core creative team from Jon Stewart's era is still working behind the scenes, including executive producers Steve Bodow, Jen Flanz, Tim Greenberg, Jill Katz and Adam Lowitt. There's a new man behind the desk, but in many respects it's still recognizably the same show. At the Daily Show panel of the 2015 Television Critics Association summer press tour, Trevor Noah announced that he would be keeping the senior producers from Jon Stewart's era but probably lose some of the Fox News jokes. “The Daily Show was based on an emerging 24 hour news cycle,” Noah said, according to EW. Modern Family, Downton Abbey, and the other winners of the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced. The 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards “often referred to simply as the Emmy, is a television production award, similar in nature to the Peabody Awards but more focused on entertainment, and is considered the television equivalent to the Academy Awards (for film), Grammy Awards (for music) and Tony Awards (for stage).” The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded the 2010-2011 Primetime Emmys® for programs and individual achievements last night in Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. I was happy to see Peter Dinklage win for his work in Game of Thrones. He deserved it. The full listing of the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards winners is below.
