On the Tuesday (Jan.14) episode of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," correspondent Samantha Bee did a wildly dramatic and hilarious one-woman show based on Fox News' weekday panel discussion show "The Five."
She called it a "story of love" between former White House press secretary Dana Perino, calling her a "a young girl, new to the big city, with big dreams and a heart so pure it makes Mary Poppins look like a disgusting whorebag," and her fellow panelist and frequent seat-neighbor, "Red/Eye" host Greg Gutfeld, whom Bee characterized as "a pill-popping afternoon drunk who's riddled with hepatitis."
While she was at it, Bee tossed in a segment on the panelist rival for Perino's heart, political commentator and financial expert Eric Bolling, and on villanous panelist Bob Beckel, the "Fox liberal," who just wants to expose it all.
Gutfeld and Perino were so enchanted with the skit that they sent Bee flowers.

As with most Fox News programming, Jon Stewart is baffled by "The Five," a panel show featuring a rotating roundtable of hosts. Luckily, he has "The Daily Show" correspondent Samantha Bee to make sense of it all for him.
On Tuesday's (Jan. 14) episode, Bee performed her one-woman show, inspired by "The Five," and it was something special. "'The Five' is a storyboard of the human condition," she explains. What most see as yet another political panel show, Bee understands as truly "a story of love," rooted in "riding the boner train to pound town."
In Bee's eyes, the real story is about panelist Dana Perino, "a young girl, new to the big city, with big dreams and a heart so pure it makes Mary Poppins look like a disgusting whorebag." Enter Greg Gutfeld, "Red Eye" host and, according to Bee, a bad boy and "a pill-popping afternoon drunk who's riddled with hepatitis.

Martin Bashir made his rather unceremonious exit from MSNBC on Wednesday, and the hosts of The Five gave him as gracious a send-off as they possibly could, mocking both Bashir and the "small local access network" he called home for over two years. And Bob Beckel, in true Bob Beckel fashion, had a burning question that had absolutely nothing to do with the point of the segment.

"Would JFK be welcome in today's Democratic Party?" That's the question Fox News' The Five asked just two days before the 50th anniversary of former President John F. Kennedy's assassination. As Bob Beckel said in his introduction to the topic, "Some people have asked whether Ronald Reagan would fit in today's Republican Party and the same question can be asked about President Kennedy."...

Commentator, legal analyst and former prosecutor Kimberly Guilfoyle is rightly proud of her Puerto Rican heritage and has mentioned it on Fox News Channel' daily roundtable show "The Five," on which she is a co-host.
That's her mother's side of the family, but on her father's side, the blue-eyed brunette has deep roots in the west of Ireland, specifically County Clare, home to the famous Cliffs of Moher.
Her father, the late Anthony Guilfoyle, emigrated from the Clare town of Ennis to the United States in the 1950s. He eventually landed in San Francisco, where Guilfoyle was born. (Guilfoyle would become the city's first lady while she was married to Gavin Newsom, now California's lieutenant governor.)
Many fans of "The Five" learned about Guilfoyle's Irish heritage when she recently gave a shout-out to the Banner County over the victory of Clare's hurling team -- an ancient Irish sport with ash sticks,...

Shepard Smith debuted Fox News’ bizarre and futuristic newsroom this week, complete with 55-inch touchscreen monitors and a 38-foot-long video wall that displays the latest from around the globe and the Twitter-sphere. But “The Daily Show”s’ Jon Stewart was not impressed with the state-of-the-art news hub and he used his Wednesday show to warn Smith about the dangers he faced from all that gadgetry. Megyn Kelly’s primetime show on Fox News got off to a strong start on Monday, more than tripling the total viewership of its CNN timeslot rival “Piers Morgan Tonight,” according to preliminary numbers. “The Kelly File” also topped “The Rachel Maddow Show” in total viewers, although Maddow’s show bested Kelly’s new offering in the key demo. It, along with the debut airing of Shepard Smith’s new Fox News show, improved the third-quarter averages of respective timeslot predecessors. Monday marked the 17th anniversary of the cable news channel that has dominated the ratings for so long that it hasn’t changed its primetime lineup in over a decade. Until now. Shepard Smith and Megyn Kelly, anchoring Fox News’ new shows amid its new schedule, greeted the new era with futuristic new sets, a stated emphasis on journalism and social media and way too much information about Bob Beckel’s sex life. Currently in a rebuilding phase after a precipitous slide from its former dominance of the cable-news world, CNN has been adding new on-air talent, such as former ABC News correspondent Jake Tapper, and is also reaching back into its past.
Last week, CNN revived the current-events/debate program "Crossfire," blending a long-running format with a roster of new faces. The daily 30-minute show features two hosts and guests each night, with the co-hosts also appearing across other CNN programming.
From 1982 until 2005, "Crossfire" was a mainstay of the network's daytime lineup, examining the news from the points of view of a politically liberal and a conservative pundit.
The first pairing was journalist and author Tom Braden ("Eight Is Enough") on the liberal side, and commentator, politician and broadcaster Pat Buchanan, as the conservative.
Later rosters for both the daytime show and a Sunday edition included Robert Novak, John Sununu, Tony Snow,...

The Five opened its show Tuesday afternoon by looking ahead to tomorrow's speech by President Obama, marking the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech at the 1963 March on Washington. The conservative hosts were attempting to place blame on the president for how little racial progress the country has made since King's day when Bob Beckel jumped in and began...

For those turned off by Miley Cyrus' nearly-naked Vma performance on Sunday night, it was a lot easier to look away than it is to stop talking about it. And now Fox News' "The Five" have weighed in, too. And in a surprise twist, they loved it! Just kidding. They hated it with nearly as much passion as MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski. Just one hour after MSNBC's Joy Reid examined the right's attempts to make the Chris Lane shooting a "racial" issue, Fox News' The Five took on the left for making it about guns. Eric Bolling wondered "how long before one of these bozos on the left starts pointing the finger at the NRA," before Bob Beckel jumped in with, "I'll do it right now."...
