Wanda’s journey in the MCU has been complex. She began as a villain, transitioned into a hero, faced tragedy, experienced loss, briefly returned to villainy, and then reclaimed a heroic mantle by destroying the Darkhold and seemingly sacrificing herself.
The conclusion of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ left her fate uncertain. Official statements haven’t clarified whether Wanda is still alive within the MCU.
Many fans, myself included, think that mere collapsing debris wouldn’t pose a significant threat to a Nexus being with such vast Multiversal potential. After all, we’ve seen Wanda endure far worse, so her return seems likely. Lately, there have been rumors suggesting she might get her own standalone movie. Even if that doesn’t materialize, there are several projects where her return would make perfect sense.

Wanda was never just a character in the MCU. She started out a villain, became a hero, became a hero with a tragic backstory, lost everything, and circled back to being a villain until eventually becoming sort of a hero again by destroying Darkhold and supposedly taking her own life.
Now even the ending of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ was pretty open-ended, and the official statements on the matter really did nothing to answer the question – is Wanda still alive within the MCU?
Most fans, including me, believe that collapsing debris can’t really do much against Nexus being with such a Multiversal potential, after all, we’ve seen Wanda tanking far worse, so she will likely return. Recently, there’s been a few rumors circling that she is going to get her own standalone movie, even if that doesn’t happen, there are a few projects in which she could return,...

A grueling two-pedal route to the Grand Canyon just might provide the course-correction male juvenile offenders need in “Hard Miles.” With Matthew Modine as their teacher-coach, this fact-inspired tale covers familiar redemptive sports drama terrain. But it’s traveled with affectingly understated assurance by director R.J. Daniel Hanna (“Miss Virginia”) and a strong cast, making for a satisfying scenic ride that picked up several festival audience awards last year.
In a film loosely based on the life and work of his character’s offscreen namesake, Modine plays avid cyclist Greg Townsend, welding instructor at a medium-security correctional residential school in Colorado. That job environment is no picnic, given volatile students who can go from bantering to insults to fistfights in a flash. Plus he’s got his own demons to wrestle with — there are flashbacks to an abused childhood, and phone calls from an incarcerated brother keep urging Greg to...

MCU series ‘WandaVision’, focusing on Wanda Maximoff and her journey after a significant loss, received praise for its unique storytelling and deep exploration of characters’ emotions. It was successful enough to spawn two spinoffs: ‘Agatha’, set to premiere on Disney+ later this year, and ‘Vision Quest’, whose release date is still uncertain.
Last year, the WGA Directory mentioned ‘Vision Quest’ was expected to come out during the 2024-2025 TV season. Many fans were excited about it, but due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, several projects, including this one, faced delays and cancellations.
Fortunately, ‘Vision Quest’ wasn’t scrapped like some other shows. Recent rumors suggest it might hit screens as soon as 2026. Now, a few weeks later, there are new reports about the show’s production.
According to Scarlet Witch Updates, filming for the show could begin in the latter half of 2024 or possibly next year. The showrunners also seem...

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown and fiancé Jake Bongiovi, son of musician Jon Bon Jovi, are tying the knot with Brown’s costar, Matthew Modine, officiating.
Modine, known for his roles in Full Metal Jacket and Vision Quest, plays Brown’s father figure in the Netflix hit series Stranger Things. While Modine’s character, known as “Papa” by Eleven or Dr. Martin Brenner, isn’t the kindest in the show, there was nothing but love from Modine when he announced he will officiate the young couple’s marriage.
Modine told Access Daily, “I have one of those licenses to get people married and Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife.”

‘WandaVision,’ a popular Marvel series about Wanda Maximoff dealing with her loss, got a lot of love for its unique storytelling and digging into the characters’ feelings. It did so well that there are two new shows spinning off from it: ‘Agatha,’ coming to Disney+ soon, and ‘Vision Quest,’ which doesn’t have a release date yet.
Last year, the WGA Directory said ‘Vision Quest’ was expected to come out in the 2024-2025 TV season. Many fans were eager for it, but the SAG-AFTRA strike messed up a bunch of projects, and some got axed. Now, MyTimeToShineHello, a notable leaker and scooper, teased White Vision’s next appearance which we can only assume is ‘Vision Quest.’ The news are not good, if the rumors are true the show won’t see the light of day until 2026.

Marvel has had a plethora of franchises over the years but none of them could come close to the popularity matched by Ghost Rider, featuring Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze. The first film was released in 2007 which was a massive hit, and four years later, it got a strange sequel titled Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance. Though it was not a massive hit like the initial film, it was an intriguing watch as the film featured more action and watching Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze and his anti-hero avatar was an absolute blast.

It was heavily rumored that the character would have made its Marvel Cinematic Universe return in a TV Show. However, Marvel Studios decided to discard the character’s much-anticipated return as they butchered a number of popular titles that fans were looking forward to watching.

Darren Starr's primetime soap opera "Melrose Place" debuted on July 8, 1992, initially sold as a spinoff of the ultra-hot "Beverly Hills 90210." The series followed the denizens of the titular apartment complex, said to be located at 4616 Melrose in West Hollywood, California. "Melrose Place" was a massive success and was replete with all the sex, angst, and topical interpersonal drama that typically appeared in a TV series produced by Aaron Spelling. The show lasted seven seasons and 226 episodes. "Melrose Place" birthed a spinoff in 1995 called "Models, Inc." and was revived (with a new cast of characters) for an additional season in 2009.
On "Melrose Place," actor and professional soccer player Andrew Shue played Billy Campbell, an aspiring screenwriter, cab driver, ad executive, or newspaperman, depending on what season you're watching. Billy had romantic dalliances and/or married multiple "Melrose" characters, most notably Alison (Courtney Thorne-Smith), but also Amanda (Heather Locklear), Brooke (Kristen Davis), who died tragically,...

In 2023, Marvel Studios faced challenges. The Multiverse Saga debut received a lukewarm response, and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ fell short of expectations. ‘Secret Invasion,’ a highly anticipated live-action series about Skrulls, received poor reviews despite loosely adapting a beloved comic storyline. The lone success was ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3,’ overshadowed by the disappointing performance of ‘The Marvels,’ Marvel Studios’ lowest-grossing film to date.
Acknowledging ‘The Marvels’ failure, Bob Iger admitted to its shortcomings, emphasizing a shift toward quality over quantity. Despite occasional announcements of new projects, ranging from street-level heroes to cosmic tales, most upcoming endeavors are animated.
This shift isn’t accidental. According to Daniel Richtman’s sources within Marvel Studios, the future will prioritize animated content, with live-action productions taking a back seat, focusing on more grounded narratives, and becoming less frequent.

2023 wasn’t all that good for Marvel Studios. The start of the Multiverse Saga was met with a lukewarm reception and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ failed to deliver projected results. ‘Secret Invasion’ a much-anticipated live-action show focusing on the Skrulls was met with horrific reviews despite loosely adapting a famous comic storyline. The only fully successful project released in 2023 was ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3,’ which was followed by the abysmal release of ‘The Marvels’ the lowest-grossing Marvel Studios film to date.

Wanda’s journey in the MCU is profoundly poignant. Amidst the devastating Novi Grad Bombings, she endured loss and, alongside her brother Pietro, resorted to desperate measures to acquire power for retribution against Tony Stark. Pietro sacrificed himself when they turned against Ultron, leaving Wanda to navigate a path of love with Vision and defiance against Thanos.
Her MCU tenure saw the wrenching loss of Vision, her imagined children, and ultimately her sanity. Yet, she gained a potent compensation—the formidable powers of Scarlet Witch. Before her departure, Wanda executed a crucial act: she obliterated the Darkhold Castle on Wundagore Mountain, eliminating every copy of the Darkhold. The castle’s collapse seemingly claimed her life, as affirmed in the 2023 MCU timeline book. However, fans, fueled by hope, challenge the notion that one of the mightiest Avengers succumbed to mere rubble.

Wanda’s story in the MCU is one of the most heartbreaking. She lost everything in the Novi Grad Bombings, and then, along with her brother Pietro, she turned to desperate means to secure some kind of power to get their vengeance on Tony Stark.
Pietro was lost when the twins turned on Ultron in self-sacrifice, but Wanda continued on, fell in love with Vision, and took a stand against Thanos. By the end of her career in the MCU, she would lose Vision, her imaginary children, and ultimately her own sanity, but she would gain something far more powerful: the powers of Scarlet Witch.
Still, before she went, Wanda did one thing right: she collapsed the Darkhold Castle on Wundagore Mountain on top of herself, destroying every single copy of Darkhold in existence, and the collapse of the castle seemingly led to her death. While her death was confirmed in the 2023 MCU timeline book,...

The MCU kicked off with a slew of interconnected movies, gradually weaving a cohesive narrative. Over time, series joined the lineup, garnering mixed reviews for some, while others earned praise and sprouted numerous spinoffs. Among these, WandaVision stood out, giving rise to ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,’ ‘Vision Quest,’ and the rumored Wiccan project.
Marvel Studios initially adhered to a one-season approach for their shows. However, ‘Loki’ became an exception, with its second season emerging as a massive hit, flawlessly concluding Loki’s character arc in the MCU. Facing challenges with the development of ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ the studio is reconsidering its strategy, leaning towards adopting seasonal storytelling akin to cable TV, allowing shows to unfold across multiple seasons.
In response to this shift, the producer of ‘Loki’ shared insights on the new direction.

MCU at first started with a bunch of movies that were connected with each other in one way or another. Eventually, the series was added to the mix, and while some projects have been met with mixed reviews, some were praised and spawned several spinoffs. Most notable was WandaVision, which spawned ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,’ ‘Vision Quest,’ and the rumored Wiccan project.
But while we do know that Marvel Studios’ strategy so far was to create only one season of the show, they made an exception for ‘Loki,’ and the second season turned out to be a massive hit, closing Loki’s character arc in the MCU perfectly. Due to the complications with ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ development, we also know that the studio is rethinking its strategy, and they are looking to adopt seasonal stories, more reminiscent of cable TV, where the shows run for several seasons.

The first Marvel / Disney+ series WandaVision is getting a collector’s edition Blu-ray release tomorrow (you can order a copy Here) – and apparently a featurette that offers a behind-the-scenes look at the spin-off / follow-up Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (which was formerly known as Agatha: House of Harkness and then Agatha: Coven of Chaos) is included in the extras! Agatha isn’t expected to start streaming on the Disney+ service until the early fall of 2024 – possibly on September 19, 2024 – so this featurette gets the marketing started quite early.

After the resolution of the historic SAG-AFTRA strike, numerous projects faced potential cancellations or indefinite delays, and the MCU experienced its share of setbacks. Rumors circulated about the possible cancellation of several projects among the 30-plus Marvel-based character developments in progress, spanning both the MCU and Ssu (Sony’s Spider-Man Universe). However, only a fraction of these projects have confirmed release dates.
Among the MCU ventures affected was WandaVision, originally anticipated to spawn various spinoffs. ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ is the closest to fruition, set to premiere in September next year. Another project, Vision Quest, focusing on White Vision, is rumored to be a limited series alongside Wonder Woman.
Interestingly, there’s an additional project not officially confirmed— a series centered around Wiccan, Scarlet Witch’s teenage son inheriting her magical powers and a member of the Young Avengers. Following the resolution of the historical SAG-AFTRA strike, many projects faced the chopping block or were put on hold infinitely. MCU wasn’t spared from delays and complications, and several projects were rumored to be all but canceled. More than 30 projects revolving around Marvel-based characters are in development both when it comes to MCU and Ssu (Sony’s Spider-Man Universe), but only a fraction of them have confirmed release dates.
One MCU project that was supposed to lead to plenty of spinoffs was WandaVision. ‘Agatha: Coven of Chaos’ is the closest one to release, being scheduled to release sometime next year in September. With the beginning of Phase 4 and the Multiverse Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021, Marvel Studios decided to expand the franchise’s canon with Disney+ streaming shows that would be directly connected with the movies, unlike all the previous shows that aired on ABC and Netflix. The first Disney+ MCU series was ‘WandaVision’, and since its premiere, we have watched eight live-action series and one animated series.
Expanding the franchise through Disney+ content allowed the studio to develop spin-offs for characters that wouldn’t happen if the franchise only stuck to the movies. Some of the spin-offs we will watch eventually are ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries,’ ‘Ironheart,’ ‘Wonder Man,’ ‘Vision Quest,’ and ‘Echo.’ Echo is a spin-off to 2021’s ‘Hawkeye’ series, in which Alaqua Cox debuted as Maya Lopez, also known as Echo.
The ‘Echo’ series is rumored to be shorter than initially announced.

What we have suspected for so long has come to pass. The WGA strike began last May, and there are still no signs of resolving it anytime soon. Once the SAG-AFTRA joined with their own strike in July, almost the entire Hollywood stopped, and it remained frozen ever since. For how long this will last is anyone’s guess, and the studios can only keep delaying their movies and TV shows until they finally make a fair deal with both guilds.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe started its Multiverse Saga in 2021 with the ‘WandaVision’ series. although the initial plan was to start it with ‘Black Widow.’ Television and streaming content blossomed during the time pandemic, and almost the entire world was in lockdown. However, when things returned to normal, it became clear that we were getting too much MCU content, and discussions about superhero fatigue are still ever-present among MCU fans.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe started merely as an idea with so much potential, and following the release of several standalone movies, the first crossover event, ‘The Avengers,’ launched the franchise to the stars, where it remained to this day, even though some fans are arguing how the franchise doesn’t feel the same since the Infinity Saga concluded back in 2019.
The ongoing Multiverse Saga expanded the canon with a series of Disney+ shows that started with ‘WandaVision’ in early 2021, and since then, we have watched eight MCU shows on the streamer (seven live-action and one animated show). However, the problem these shows created for the collectors of physical media is that they were available only on Disney+, unlike movies that can be watched on Disney+ but are also still bought on physical media. Thankfully, Marvel has some good news for the collectors.

Known for his towering height and slim physique, Matthew Modine rose to fame on the wings of Stanley Kubrick‘s Full Metal Jacket (1987). He began acting professionally in the early 1980s and it wasn’t long before he scored his first main role in a feature film. In addition to Full Metal Jacket, Modine also gained early recognition in his career for his performance in movies such as Birdy (1984), Vision Quest (1985), Pacific Heights (1990), Short Cuts (1993), and Cutthroat Island (1995). On the other hand, Stranger Things, The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Bedford Diaries, Weeds, and Proof...

The question of having too much MCU content is ever-present since the canon expanded with the inclusion of Disney+ live-action series. And while we can see that Marvel Studios is making some small changes in the release strategy, we can see that Marvel Studios is still developing a zillion spin-offs with many supporting characters.
Agatha Harkness debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the ‘WandaVision’ series in 2021. Played by Kathryn Hahn, the character was depicted as a noisy neighbor in Wanda’s reality-altered paradise called Westview. After her reveal as the villain, Wanda defeated her and locked her up inside the form of a noisy neighbor she pretended to be.
We thought that was it for Agatha, and regardless of Hahn’s terrific and acclaimed performance (we won’t even mention that “Agatha All Along” song that’s still in our ears), we were all surprised when it was Marvel...

Agatha: Coven of Chaos: Patti LuPone conjures secrets about her bewitching Marvel character and more
Double double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble, Patti LuPone is conjuring secrets about Marvel’s WandaVision spinoff, Agatha: Coven of Chaos. I know that didn’t rhyme. You’ll get over it, I promise. On Tuesday’s episode of The View (via Entertainment Weekly), LuPone revealed she’s playing Lilia Calderu for the upcoming series, also starring Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza.
“It’s a coven of witches, and I play Lilia Calderu, who apparently is in the Marvel world. I researched her. She’s hot. She’s really hot. She’s got a great body and hair,” LuPone told Alyssa Farah Griffin about her character. “I didn’t know there were witches,” LuPone said about exploring the Marvel Universe. “I didn’t know anything about the Marvel world. Director David Gordon Green, who recently made a trilogy of Halloween sequels, is now working on a sequel to the 1973 classic The Exorcist (watch it Here) – with the hope being that this movie will be the first in a trilogy of Exorcist sequels. Green is planning to direct all three of them. We know that original Exorcist star Ellen Burstyn is reprising the role of Chris MacNeil in the film. We know that Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton) is playing a character who tracks down Chris MacNeil after his child becomes possessed. But we don’t know who their co-stars Lidya Jewett (Nightbooks), Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale), and newcomer Olivia Marcum are playing. So the latest bit of The Exorcist casting news comes with a bit of a surprise: it comes with minor character details! Deadline reports that Raphael Sbarge is in the cast, and he’s playing a pastor.

It’s no secret that the MCU has been one of the largest franchises of the past 15 years, but Marvel has been producing content lately on a scale that even they couldn’t have matched just a few years ago. The first three phases of the MCU contained 23 projects over 11 years – phase 4 alone had 17 projects that spanned barely two years, with phase 5 and phase 6 scheduled to have just as many.
The MCU has made it perfectly clear that they won’t stop mass-producing content anytime soon, nor should they since fans still flock to theaters to watch their movies and eagerly await every new show that arrives on Disney+. But with the different projects the MCU has begun to incorporate into their vast universe, the screen has gotten a little crowded, and audiences are finding it harder and harder to find the time to sit through 8-9 movies/shows a year.

Owen Roizman, the cinematographer who shot some of the most notable films of the 1970s New Hollywood era, has died. The Hollywood Reporter confirms the news that the Oscar-nominated director of photography, who worked often with William Friedkin, Lawrence Kasdan, and Sydney Pollack, passed away in his home in Encino on Friday night, at the age of 86.
Roizman shot over 30 films and music videos across his decades-long career, including some of the most acclaimed cultural touchstones of the '70s and '80s. Friedkin's "The French Connection," a movie that famously includes one of cinema's most exhilarating car chase sequences, was only the second film Roizman ever worked on as a cinematographer.
In an interview with American Cinematographer, the artist once explained that he undercranked the camera for the famous (and infamous) chase scene, using only 18 to 20 frames per second instead of the typical 24 in order to give the effect of high speed.

It’s been a wild ride in a post-Thanos world, and in the aftermath of the Blip, it’s a very different Marvel Cinematic Universe. We can’t believe it’s been three years since Avengers: Endgame dusted the Mad Titan, but since then we’ve had everything from multiple Spider-Men to the Multiverse, a black Captain America to a female Thor, Egyptian gods to Celestials, and everything in between.
Without a typical Avengers movie to tie everything together, critics feel Phase 4 of the MCU missed the mark on some levels. Still, we’ve got to hand it to Kevin Feige, he packed a lot in. Now that Ryan Coogler has had the honor of closing this chapter with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it’s time to look back at the best and worst moments of the MCU Phase 4.

World Wrestling Entertainment (formerly WWF) was enjoying a peak Golden Age in the 1980s with primetime spots featuring larger-than-life wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior who were treated like the rock stars of the day. In a peculiar attempt to possibly capitalize on the sports craze, 1985's "Vision Quest" stars Matthew Modine as a high school wrestler who goes through intense physical training to challenge the undefeated state champion. The film has become a sports cult classic but, at the time, Warner Bros. Pictures may have been a little concerned about the mainstream appeal of a story about tournament-style wrestling that really had nothing to do with the entertaining stage fights of the WWF that were dominating the airwaves.

Vision is eyeing his own TV series: Marvel is developing a WandaVision spinoff for Disney+ with Paul Bettany set to reprise his role as Vision, according to our sister site Deadline.
The series — tentatively titled Vision Quest, with a writers’ room reportedly starting up next week — will be about Vision “trying to regain his memory and humanity” after the events of WandaVision. (Viewers will remember that Vision, after his death in Avengers: Infinity War, was resurrected as part of his wife Wanda’s sitcom dream world, while the original Vision was reconstructed and reactivated by S.W.O.R.D.

Exclusive: Start spreading the news! A new musical loosely based on Martin Scorsese’s 1977 film New York, New York will begin performances on Broadway, theater to be announced, in March 2023. Opening night will be in April, with Tony and Olivier Award winner Susan Stroman on board to direct and choreograph.
The show — of course it’s called New York, New York — will feature numbers written for the movie by legendary songwriting duo John Kander and Fred Ebb. Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton) will write additional lyrics for new Kander tunes, Deadline has learned.
Four Kander and Ebb songs were used in Scorsese’s MGM film, including the fabled title track that will definitely feature big in the Broadway show.
Casting breakdowns for New York, New York were being issued today. The production is believed to have a cast of 31 and an orchestra of 19 musicians.

When Rachel Dratch makes her entrance in the Broadway, all-female ensemble farce Potus: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive, audiences respond with an enthusiasm that feels like the greeting of an old friend. Best known for the 1999 to 2006 stint on NBC’s Saturday Night Live that saw her holding her own among some of the show’s most popular casts – Will Farrell, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers and Darrell Hammond were just a few of the all-stars during those seasons – Dratch created one of SNL’s most enduring characters with in Debbie Downer, a never look on the bright side type who could sink even the happiest occasion with a gloomy observation. “Did you factor in the loss of life at the hands of the African diamond industry?”, Debbie might say to a newly engaged family member, at Thanksgiving no less.

Did you think the 2021-2022 Broadway season was finalized already? Think again! The new comedy “Potus: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive” has moved its opening night performance from its original May 9 date to April 27. The jump forward makes this new play eligible for the 2022 Tony Awards since it will sneak in before the April 28 eligibility deadline.
I should also clarify that this won’t technically be an opening “night,” but the rare opening matinee! Since the new Billy Crystal tuner “Mr. Saturday Night” has already claimed the evening of April 27 as its opening night, “Potus” has declared the 2:00 pm matinee that day as its official opening performance (stepping on another new show’s opening night would be a major Broadway faux pas). Previews of “Potus” will still begin on April 14, and a gala celebration for the play will be held on...
