Action icon Dolph Lundgren and Frasier himself Kelsey Grammer – who have actually worked together before, on The Expendables 3 – star in the upcoming action thriller Wanted Man, which is set to receive a theatrical, VOD, and digital release on January 19th. With that date just one month away, a trailer for Wanted Man has arrived online, and you can check it out in the embed above. A poster for the film has also been unveiled, and that can be found at the bottom of this article.
Lundgren also directed this film, working from a screenplay he wrote with Hank Hugues and Michael Worth. Here’s the synopsis: Johansen (Lundgren) is an aging detective, whose outdated policing methods have given the department a recent public relations problem. To save his job, he is sent to Mexico to extradite a female witness to the murders of two DEA agents. Once there, he finds...

Even in the beginning, the Beatles were hugely popular. Though it seemed they were popular everywhere but London. They experienced enormous recording success, sold-out concerts, and crazed fans wherever they went. And yet, the London press hardly covered them and they couldn’t book any of the big theaters in the city. Beatles manager Brian Epstein had a theory as to why.
The Grade Brothers
Epstein believed he and the Beatles were being blacklisted by three brothers: Lew and Leslie Grade, and Bernard Delfont. The Grades were highly involved and influential in the English entertainment business.
Lew Grade, who later became Lord Grade, owned the Associated Television Corporation, Britain’s largest independent producer of TV programs. He personally produced the UK’s most popular variety show, Sunday Night at the Palladium. For an act to gain national recognition at the time, it was crucial they appear on Snatp.

We’ve always called Victoria Beckham fashion royalty (she’s built herself an empire!), but now that title is (practically) official! The designer was just awarded an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) by Prince William for her contributions in fashion and her charity work.
It was announced last December that she would be included in the Queen’s Honours List for 2017, saying at the time that she was “delighted and humbled for the recognition.” And Wednesday she attended the ceremony at Buckingham Palace to receive her medal.

A former Rockette denounced as “disgraceful” on Thursday the decision to have the famed dancers perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration — and said that despite denials, the Rockettes are indeed still being pressured to perform. In an open letter provided to TheWrap, Autumn Withers said the dancers were not permitted to speak to the media, and sympathized with their difficult situation. “To perform for someone that represents everything that we, as women, have ever had to overcome is contrary to everything we know to be right and true,” she wrote. Dolph Lundgren tussled with Sylvester Stallone in Rocky IV, Jean-Claude Van Damme in Universal Soldier and made up part of the musclebound Expendables gang with the likes of Jason Statham, Jet Li and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
There's no doubt about it, Lundgren is an action icon to be reckoned with.
As well as the above films, he's starred in Masters of the Universe (as He-Man), John Woo's Blackjack (an assassin scarred of the colour white - cue final act shoot-out at a milk factory) and Command Performance (a rock drummer who saves the President).
A man of many talents, Lundgren's resume also boasts six movies as a director, a 3rd dan black belt in Kyokushin Karate, a degree in chemical engineering and a stint as co-host on a reality show to find Sweden's entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Last Stand explodes into UK cinemas on Thursday 24th January and to celebrate, we’ve got 3 sets of the must-own action DVDs to give away to some lucky winners, including Sin City, Crank 2: High Voltage and Cop Land as well as a still signed by Jaimie Alexander.
Action icon Arnold Schwarzenegger makes his much-anticipated return to the big screen in Korean action-suspense director Kim Jee-woon’s hard-hitting Us directorial debut, The Last Stand.
After leaving his Lapd narcotics post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with remorse and regret, Sheriff Ray Owens (Schwarzenegger) moved out of Los Angeles and settled into a life fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction. But that peaceful existence is shattered when Gabriel Cortez (Eduardo Noriega), the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the western hemisphere, makes a deadly yet spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy.

There have been a lot of cool stories to come out of Hollywood in the last couple of years, but for our money one of the coolest is the sudden and unexpected career resurgence of Dolph Lundgren, who came out of nowhere (aka Europe) to reclaim his action star title with his turn as the despicable Gunnar Jensen in 2010's "The Expendables."
Now, Lundgren is kicking it into even higher gear with "Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning," which reunites him with his "Expendables 2" co-star Jean-Claude Van Damme for the sixth (!) installment of their long-running sci-fi series.
All of which got us wondering: What is it about Dolph Lundgren that makes him so cool?
Well, after doing a little research, we discovered the answer: Pretty much everything. With that in mind, we thought we'd present the top 10 Things You Didn't Know About Dolph Lundgren and help reveal the mysteries of the...

When my local neighborhood grocery store recently set out a dump bin overflowing with cheap, previously-viewed movies, I didn’t think too much about it. More often than not, all they’re peddling are cheesy, low-budget family flicks or mainstream movies everyone and their grandmother already owns. Imagine my surprise, then, when I stumbled upon used copies of “Command Performance”, “Trailer Park of Terror”, “Webs”, “War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave”, and “Flu Birds” for next to nothing. My head nearly exploded from the sheer awesomeness of it all. Was this self-indulgent splurge a worthwhile investment? The full report resides below. Here they are, in no particular order: ——— Webs (2003)What happens when you let Richard Grieco and a group of bumbling electricians fiddle around with a minature nuclear reactor? You guessed it — they open a portal into an alternate dimension populated with bloody-thirsty man-spiders hellbent on murdering everyone on the planet.

This weekend, I will be front-row-center at The Expendables. I’ll be the guy with the drool bib on. Now, let me be clear: It’s not because I’m dying to see the side of aged beef that is Sylvester Stallone or soak up the chrome-domed Cockney bad-assery of Jason Statham (who I like a lot). It’s not because of Jet Li, who I could take or leave. And since I never really got all that geeked up about mixed martial arts or professional wrestling, the presence of Randy Couture or “Stone Cold” Steve Austin doesn’t mean that much to me.

According to IMDb.com, “Icarus” is the sixth film that Dolph Lundgren has directed and also starred in since he left the golden hills of Hollywood for indie moviemaking. I’ve dabbled in some of his past directorial efforts, like “The Defender” and “Command Performance”, but have never actually, well, finished them, making “Icarus” his first movie as director that I’ve actually sat all the way through. “Icarus” certainly remains faithful to Lundgren’s Hollywood action movie roots, albeit on a much smaller scale. There’s no getting around it: Lundgren is far removed from his “Rocky 4” and “Masters of the Universe” days. Then again, considering the craptacular nature of those movies, maybe that’s not such a bad thing. Extended gunfire, explosions, and an impressive bodycount are the order of the day in “Icarus”, though with full command of his movies, Lundgren is now able to inject some...

The iconic action star wrote, directed and headlined in his latest direct-to-dvd film "Command Performance" and returns to the big screen in 2010 for Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables." As far as upcoming comic book films go, however, "Conan" is the only one that has his attention right now, and he said he hasn't been keeping up with the skull-shirted vigilante he first portrayed in 1989.

While doing the promo rounds for the DVD release of his “Die hard at a concert” movie “Command Performance” (a film that he wrote, directed, stars, and plays drums in — indeed, no stuntmen were harmed in the making of those drum solos), Dolph Lundgren told MTV that he recently met with the producers of the upcoming “Conan” remake. According to Dolph, he’s talked to the producer about joining the Marcus Nispel-directed movie, but it’s way too early and casting is still ongoing. They haven’t even chosen their Conan yet, which apparently they’re going the unknown route on that one. (More on the characters still to be cast here.) Of course, just because the lead is an unknown, that doesn’t mean the villains have to be. The biggest DVD and Blu-ray release for this week is probably G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. It pains me to know that this week some brave souls will give it another chance, while others will discover its sheer idiocy for the first time. If you're looking for something slightly better but still mediocre, you might try Tony Scott's remake of The Taking of Pelham 123. Other smaller releases for the week include Dolph Lundgren's direct-to-dvd action flick Command Performance, the Spanish post-apocalyptic flick Before The Fall, and the G.I. Joe Resolute animated microseries. Also keep an eye out for a few noteworthy documentaries this week including Food Inc., The English Surgeon, and the John Hughes doc Don't You Forget About Me (in Canada only). Plus: James Bond and Rocky collections on Blu-ray, and the only partially redundant Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut! Will you be picking anything up this week?...

Dolph Lundgren may have been inspired to write his new direct-to-dvd film, "Command Performace," by events in Moscow, but he had to move the production down to Bulgaria, given its modern terrorism subject matter. The veteran action hero, who directed, stars and co-wrote (with Steve Latshaw) the movie, couldn't find a way to film it all in Russia, but he still wants to release it in the country where it all began.

After weeks of rather lackluster releases ("Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" being a prominent exception), we finally have a Tuesday jam-packed with first-run titles and notable catalog additions. In stark contrast to the campy animated series, Hama infused his 155-issue run with deeply developed character arcs, ever-twisting conspiracies and, to his credit, pulled no punches when it came to violence and death. Ok, so this might not constitute actual movie news, but it's too awesome to pass up. Over at the official Dolph Lundgren site [1] they're holding the site's very first contest. What is it? Well, usually that sort of self explanatory question would work, but as I mention the prize in the headline, you can probably guess that the contest will consist of entering to win a workout with Lundgren himself! Yes, that's right, a personal 2 hour workout session with Ivan Drago! All you gotta do is take part in the Facebook quiz promoting Lundgren's upcoming action flick Command Performance; whoever racks up the most points from doing the quiz and redirecting friends towards the quiz, wins the first prize. Take part in the quiz here [2] and read up on the other prizes, which also include copies of Command Performance (which Lundgren both co-wrote, directed and stars in) over at the...

Two months before its January 2010 UK release date, Peter Jackson’s new film The Lovely Bones will be shown at the 2009 Royal Film Performance in November.
The annual Royal Film Performance is the biggest fundraising event for Britain’s Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund, which aims to provide financial and practical assistance to anyone who has had at least two years in a paid position within the film or television industry.
The fund was first started in the 1920s, and added its first royal to the Ctbf’s list of patrons in the 1930s. England’s royal family already had a long history of supporting the arts, with several ‘Royal Command Performances’ taking place each year. These were (and continue to be) occasions where the royal family has the privilege of private screenings of films or theatre performances they wish to see.

Yesterday we rocked you with an Expendables promo trailer that included the awesome badass that is Dolph Lundgren. Just last week, as part of our Fantastic Fest coverage, Brian Salisbury raved about Dolph in his Universal Soldier: A New Beginning review. We've interviewed the man, we've applauded his early work and we've interviewed him some more. It is safe to say that without Dolph Lundgren, we probably wouldn't know what to do with ourselves. Luckily, he exists. And he's got a new movie in the works, Command Performance. And to help get the word out about this new flick, in which Dolph plays a drummer who beats some ass to save a hot chick, we've offered to host an exclusive clip. But that's not all. In addition to the clip, Dolph was kind enough to give us a little custom intro, just for the readers of Film School Rejects. Check it out below. Yep...

Larry Gelbart, who created the classic TV adaptation of Robert Altman's "M*A*S*H" and whose talented comedy writing stretched from the days of radio to the big screen and cutting-edge cable shows, died of cancer at his Beverly Hills home on Friday. He was 81.
Gelbart, the principal writer on "M*A*S*H" during the first four years of the hit CBS series, was responsible for 97 episodes of the show, one of TV's most literate comedies. He also directed some early episodes.
Beginning as a gag writer in days of radio and honing his comic craft for such talents as Jack Carson and Bob Hope, Gelbart was a versatile stylist who succeeded in a variety of mediums.
Gelbart won an Emmy with co-producer Gene Reynolds for "M*A*S*H" as well as three WGA Awards for the episodes he wrote. He picked up two Tonys for...

“Watch the hair, dude!”
If there’s anything more kickass than watching Dolph Lundgren ride a motorcycle, it’s watching him rock out behind the drum set. If there’s anything more kickass than watching him destroy a set of skins, it’s watching him take down a group of terrorists who interrupt his concert. Don’t they know any better. Silly terrorists.
The trailer for ‘Command Performance’ is live. It’s the latest action epic starring and directed by Lundgren. I guess this is the straight-to-dvd equivalent to red-band, so be forewarned. Dolph’s got a potty mouth.
Check it:
Also, just for your viewing pleasures is the teaser for the film, which shows just how much cooler Dolph is than Lars. It’s not hard, I know, but he demolishes the guy.
Dying is easy. Rock N Roll is hard.

Crazy Russian terrorists. They should have known better than to raid a concert where Dolph Lundgren is slinging drums. Before he shows up in Stallone’s “The Expendables”, you can catch Lundgren’s rock-and-roll actioner “Command Performance” when it lands on DVD later this year. Here’s your first look at the official trailer for the movie. Fyi: “Command Performance” doesn’t just star Lundgren, he also co-wrote the script with Steve Latshaw and directed. A Moscow charity concert turns bloody when armed extortionists take the head liner American pop-star Venus and the Russian President Petrov hostage. But help is on the way when the drummer in the warm-up band, a California ex-biker, and a young Russian F.S.B. agent team up to try to save the day. Things arent as simple as they appear, when old ghosts from the Soviet Union appear to haunt the world in this action-thriller starring Dolph Lundgren.

I actually began this post by calling Dolph Lundgren’s biker-turned-drummer-turned-terrorist-fighter flick Command Performance the guiltiest of guilty pleasures but then I remember: This is the internet and there are many things worthy of feeling guiltier about readily available at the click of a button. But you get the point. This is pretty guilty. It’s a ludicrous premise in a pure 80’s style and - because we lapped this sort of thing up like excited little puppy dogs back in the day - we’ve been waiting for a chance to see it from the day we first heard of it. It’ll be going straight to DVD - no shock there - and a full, proper trailer has been prepared for the DVD release. Check it out - along with the previous videos - below the break.

There's no doubt that Dolph Lundgren is a bad ass. He's made a career of kicking people's asses and not caring if they die, and somehow he's still able to make action film after action film without losing much spring in his step. The man turns 52 this year and has four films either in post production or coming out - including Direct Contact (which is out on DVD and Blu-ray today), Command Performance, Icarus, and The Expendables. We were able to get Lundgren on the phone while he was on set shooting scenes for The Expendables, and he had a lot to say about the challenges of action, working with old friends, and where he's headed next. You've got Direct Contact coming out soon, a movie with a lot of explosions and a budget of only $6 million. How did the production make the budget stretch? We shot in Bulgaria, and the producers own the studio there. They...

With all the excitement surrounding The Expendables, it's easy to lose sight of the other old school action movie team-up coming down the pike; Universal Soldier 3 featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren. The first photo of the two stars together has been released, and it strikes exactly the right balance of rugged machismo and unbridled homoeroticism that we've come to expect from the duo. The one sour note in this touching reunion is the proposed title for the film; Universal Soldiers: The Next Generation. Are they pulling a Ghostbusters and introducing a fresh-faced batch of 'lil Universal Soldiers to the mix? Unless we're promised a full-on Van Damme/Lundgren make-out session to make up for it, I'll wait for Command Performance to get my Lundgren fill. How does Universal Soldier 3 rank in your most anticipated action movies?...

In 2007, Australian director Daley Pearson made a very simple short film called $quid. Two guys are floating in a boat on the Brisbane river when one confesses that he owes a giant squid millions of dollars. Then he breaks out into song.
Well, this strange short with it's somewhat obtuse premise has quietly been turned into a feature length film by the same director. While info on how the story has been transformed into feature length material as been kept under wraps, you can tell by the teaser that it follows a love triangle to a violent end and, though a squid doesn't make an appearance, you know the tentacled beast is waiting just under the surface to strike with metaphoric glee.
Perhaps not surprisingly the footage looks gorgeous. The Dp on it is the experienced Marc Windon who recently worked on Gates of Hell and Dolph Lundgren's Command Performance.

Though he’ll never say so publicly, I’m sure Dolph Lundgren has to be hoping that his part in Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables will save him from the straight-to-video hell that he has lived in for the past decade or so. But before we find out if that happens Lundgren has one more Dtv opus to share with the world, the self-directed Command Performance. It’s Die Hard at a rock concert, basically, with Lundgren playing a biker turned rock band drummer whose band goes to Moscow for a gig only to be caught up in a terrorist attack on a politician in the audience. High art it aint.
We ran the first teaser for this a while back and now the full sales promo has been unleashed upon the world and you can find both videos below the break.

Just because, you know, running images from just one of the Universal Soldier boys didn’t seem right - we’ve got the first images from Van Damme’s Full Love here - I hereby take a moment to point you in the direction of the first block of stills released from Dolph Lundgren’s Command Performance, which Lundgren not only directs but also stars in as a heavy metal drummer who must save the Russian President from terrorists. Don’t mess with the drummer, man, just don’t do it.
We’ve got the first teaser for the film below the break and you can hit the link below to check out the images.

Apparently we’re in a bit of a Dtv mood around here these days, first with a trailer for the newest Seagal film and now with the first teaser for a directorial effort by Ivan Drago himself, Dolph Lundgren.
Titled Command Performance, the film is shooting now in Sofia before moving on to Moscow and stars Lundgren as an ex-biker turned metal drummer who must intervene when both a band and the Russian President - along with his entire family - are kidnapped by an armed gang during a charity concert.
Believe it or not this is now Lundgren’s fifth directorial effort and with production company Nu Image riding the recent success of Rambo there are some rumblings of this getting at least a limited theatrical release before hitting the video world.
Teaser below the break in the Twitch Player.
