Chicago – Knock me over with a feather kids, but I enjoyed “Transformers: The Last Knight.” Maybe it was in comparison to the others or maybe director Michael Bay has beaten me into submission, but this one had the right story elements and casting to make it work, with exceptions of course. It’s goofiness is its charm, and it was released on Blu-Ray/DVD on September 26th, 2017 (Digital HD already available).
Rating: 3.5/5.0
The two essential things that made the film more tolerable was Anthony Hopkins and Laura Haddock, two Brits who brought some performance parts that made me laugh in their earnestness – Sir Anthony was particularly bizarre. The story is tied into the Arthurian legend, and begins on a knights-of-the-round-table battlefield, and somehow that gave a bit more understanding to what was going on, which was decidedly lacking in previous films. The rest will be pretty familiar to the Transformers’ universe and fan base,...

The late singer Selena Quintanilla, who rose to international stardom for her music in the 80s and 90s, isn’t known for influencing the history of marketing, but according to a new exhibit at the National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C., she should be.
On September 12th, the museum showcased a rarely seen side of Quintanilla’s career: her role in changing the world of marketing. Due to her massive appeal to both general and Latino markets, advertisers began targeting specific demographics for the first time.
In 1989, for example, Coca-Cola recruited the Queen of Tejano to be a spokesperson.

Two years flew by.
Miranda Lambert marked her second anniversary with Anderson East Tuesday by sharing a sweet snap on Instagram of herself and her musical beau sharing a kiss.
“‘Oh how I remember well, sunset on September 12th…’ #PushingTime #2yearstoday❤️#bamaboy @andersoneast @bfluke,” she wrote in the caption.
The singer attended the Hand in Hand telethon – which is raised money for victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma — on Tuesday where she sang “If It Wasn’t For Texas” with George Strait.
Lambert, 33, and East, 30, began dating in September 2015, around three months after she and ex Blake Shelton announced they were separating.

I will be speaking about The History of St. Louis Drive-In Movie Theaters on Tuesday September 12th at 10:30am at Lee Auditorium inside the Missouri History Museum (Lindell and DeBaliviere in Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri)
The I-44 Drive-in Movie theater was a regular hangout for me in the late 1970’s. A perfect day was to spend the daylight hours at Six Flags in Eureka, then head East on 1-44, get off at Highway 141 and spend the evening watching a double feature at that Drive-In. The I-44 had the worst location for a drive-in. It sat in the valley wedged between a landfill, railroad tracks, and the Meramec river. The fog would settle in the Valley and block out the projector’s beam, the train noise would often drown out the sound, and the mosquitos loved the river, the landfill, and the taste of those attending the drive-in. But I still loved it there.

Lucio Fulci’s Don’T Torture A Duckling (1972) will be available on Blu-ray September 12th from Arrow Video

Destiny was released in 2014 by Bungie, the original developers of the Halo series for Microsoft. Whilst it's fair to say it had a troubled development and a less than stellar beginning, the game has certainly attracted a legion of rabid fans, many of whom have essentially stopped playing other video games to focus all their gaming time on this.
Whilst I do play other games, I certainly count myself among one of its many fans. I have racked up over five weeks of continuous play time and I would say that running 6-player Raids on this game with clanmates has been my number one cooperative gaming experience to date. However, the game had many criticisms including a shallow initial storyline with a disjointed and sometimes non-existent narrative. I’m going to admit that there’s probably going to be another fighter before I get to Hellboy in Injustice 2 but Black Manta looks like he would put a hurting on you.

Oscar nominees Salma Hayek (Frida, How to Be a Latin Lover) and John Lithgow (Terms of Endearment, “The Crown”) lead an all-star cast in Beatriz at Dinner, arriving on Digital HD on August 29 and on DVD and On Demand September 12 from Lionsgate. The provocative and sharply hilarious film about characters from vastly different sociopolitical backgrounds colliding over dinner is written by Mike White (School of Rock, TV’s “Enlightened”) and directed by Miguel Arteta (Youth in Revolt, The Good Girl), and also features Chloe Sevigny (TV’s “Big Love,” Boys Don’t Cry), Connie Britton (TV’s “Friday Night Lights,” “Nashville”), Amy Landecker (TV’s “Transparent,” Doctor Strange), and Jay Duplass (TV’s “Transparent,” “Togetherness”).

It looks like Mongrel Media has decided on a DVD and Blu-ray cover, for Trey Edward Shults' It Comes At Night. Showing on Twitter, the poster puts character Paul (Joel Edgerton), forefront. Character Travis (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) walks behind, in fog. It Comes at Night was a success in theatres. A review of the film is available here: An It Comes at Night Review on 28Dla. And, this title is slated for a home entertainment release, in Canada, this September. More release details are hosted here. It Comes at Night is one of the best post-apocalyptic tales to come out this year. The film's story focuses on two families, a virus and the difficulties of rural survival. Events come to a head when the virus enters the family's home. It Comes at Night will be available in two formats. On DVD and Blu-ray, this title will be released on September 12th.

Synapse Films made many viewers happy last year with their Collector's Edition Steelbook Blu-ray release of Dario Argento's Phenomena, aka Creepers, and if you didn't pick up the Steelbook, you'll soon have a chance to purchase the film in a standard (but still extraordinary) two-disc Blu-ray this September, along with The Creep Behind the Camera.
Featuring three separate cuts of the film, the Phenomena Blu-ray will be released on September 12th, the same day of Synapse Films' Blu-ray and DVD release of The Creep Behind the Camera, which explores the stranger than fiction story of the making of The Creeping Terror (which is included in the special features with a new 2K scan).
