Off course it is not a great film (and it is often a bit silly), but it is far from being bad as people say. Indeed, it has several surprising moments (a few of them too implausible, but the others are nice). In my opinion, it is smarter and better than the acclaimed first movie from the franchise. As a matter of fact, Hostel 3 is not really a sequel of Hostel 1 and 2, although the saddism, scatological footage, kidnappings and murders are still there.
