The Scottish Queer International Film Festival (Sqiff) is entering its ninth year this month, with events scheduled to run between the 8th and the 12th at Glasgow’s Cca and Gft. It’s come a long way from its humble beginnings and now brings in a large crowd every year, with a great atmosphere and lots of socialising going on around the films and events themselves. Perhaps most impressively, it has managed to extend its appeal without losing the sense of community and camaraderie which its team is proud to have created.
In the run-up to this year’s event, I caught up with festival director Indigo Korres to ask how she’s feeling about it.
“I'm very excited,” says Indigo, who is beaming so much that she couldn’t hide it if she tried. “The festival is back again for our ninth edition this year.

Morgan Wallen‘s ex-fiancee KT Smith is speaking out following his arrest over the weekend.
Morgan and KT started dating in 2016 and got engaged a few months later. Though they ended the engagement, they continued dating for several years. By the time their son Indigo was born in July 2020, they had called it quits.
The 30-year-old country singer was arrested in Nasvhille on Sunday night (April 7) after he allegedly threw a chair off of the roof of Chief’s Bar in Nashville, Tenn. Apparently, he laughed after he threw the chair off the roof, which sat six stories above a busy street.
The chair apparently hit the street about three feet away from some police officers. He was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment as well as disorderly conduct.
Reports have claimed that Morgan may have been acting in reaction to the news that KT just got married to Luke Scornavacco,...

Morgan Wallen made headlines for all the wrong reasons following a drunken rage. During the alcohol-fueled outburst, the singer threw a chair at police, leading to his arrest. So, what led the typically cool and composed celeb to come unhinged the way he did?
Morgan Wallen Arrested After Alcohol-Fueled Violent Act
When Morgan Wallen is in the headlines, it’s typically to announce new music, a new tour, or a new brand partnership. Recently, however, the Wasted on You singer was indeed wasted at a Nashville bar, and it wasn’t a good look for him.
At one point as Wallen continued to get plastered with more alcohol, he threw a chair from the rooftop where he was drinking. Making matters worse, he threw the chair at police down below, leading to his eventual arrest over the incident.
This entire scenario sounds like the subject of a Morgan Wallen music video.

Indigo De Souza recently filmed a Tiny Desk Concert for NPR, supporting her great April 2023 album All of This Will End. Along with the video, she’s announced a short run of West Coast tour dates for 2023.
De Souza’s four-song set pulled entirely from her newest LP, kicking off with a great arrangement of “The Water” complete with saxophone, cello, and trombone. The stripped-down setting put an extra emphasis on her stunning and distinct singing voice, which also served as an endearing juxtaposition to her self-deprecating banter between songs.
“Life is like a really weird dream,” De Souza said before performing her album’s title track, sharing her gratitude for being invited onto the series. “It’s like, crazy — you just get born and then you’re just doing whatever you’re doing until you die.”

Morgan Wallen’s two-year-old son, Indigo, was taken to the emergency room on Monday after a dog bit him on his face.
The country singer shares Indigo with his ex-fiancee, influencer KT Smith, who owns the dog. Smith said their child was given stitches at the emergency room but that “he should be okay.”
The dog, a Great Pyrenees named Legend, was rescued by Smith last year and said that she and Legend “kind of saved each other.”
The social media influencer, who is based in Tennessee, took to her Instagram stories to share updates about the unfortunate event and asked her followers for advice about what to do with Legend, adding that she did not want to euthanize him, contrary to what some of her fans advised her.
‘”[Legend} does not deserve that because he is wonderful and could do really great with a family who doesn’t have small children,” Smith said.

On Wednesday night’s “The Masked Singer, three “Saved by the Bell” singers—Mantis, Gargoyle and Medusa—competed for their spot in the quarter-finals! All three were saved by the new “Ding Dong, Keep It On!” bell, but only could be named the Group Champion. After a performance of “You Really Got Me” by The Kinks, Mantis was the first eliminated. Panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger all failed to guess actor Lou Diamond Phillips was the rockin’ insect.
“I gotta give a massive shoutout to my daughter Indigo,” the “La Bamba” star told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “Her and her friend Fluffy watch this show religiously. That was the primary reason, but you guys have had such wonderful, surprising, ridiculous guests. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have a new four-legged friend in their lives. The newest addition to the family, a 7-year-old rescue beagle named Mamma Mia, spent the majority of her life living in a cage at an animal-testing facility, where she was forced to breed litters for experimentation. For Markle, who has a rescue beagle named Guy, it wasn't long after she heard Mamma Mia's story that she decided to get involved, Los Angeles Times reported on Aug. 24.
According to the Beagle Freedom Project website, Mamma Mia is one of 4,000 beagles rescued from Envigo, an animal-testing facility based in Virginia. Once Envigo shut down on June 13, the dogs were transported to crowded shelters across the country. Mamma Mia and her eight puppies - Iris, Dahlia, Bonnie, Jillian, Indigo, Pebbles, Bluebell, and Lilly - were sent to Maryland, where the royal couple met Shannon Keith, an animal-rights attorney who runs the Bfp.

Back in August, Image Comics and Skybound resurrected Robert Kirkman’s Demonic in a new comic book series penned by Christopher Sebela, and this March they will release a trade paperback of the series’ first six issues.
Press Release: Eisner Award-nominated writer Christopher Sebela (High Crimes, Escape from New York), artist Niko Walter, colorist Dan Brown (Wolverine Max, Ghost Rider), and letterer Sal Cipriano will release a trade paperback collection of their darkly twisting vigilante series Demonic this March from Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment.
Taking place in a world created by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman & The Darkness creator Marc Silvestri, Demonic is a sinister tale of curses, dark bargains, and sacrifice.
Detective Scott Graves will do anything to protect his family…even bargain away his soul. Now, the only thing to fear isn’t New York’s worst criminals, but what’s already raging inside of him.

The full film and TV line-up for this year's San Diego Comic Con has been released and more than ever before the balance has shifted from movies to television with many major shows and upcoming new series all getting panels or major screenings. Films on the other hand are few and far between, in fact Friday - once a film haven in Hall H - has given way completely to TV panels.
The highlights this year are obviously on Saturday in Hall H with Warners doing their panel in the morning which will likely include looks at "Wonder Woman," "The Lego Batman Movie," "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and if we're lucky sneak peeks from "Kong: Skull Island" and "Justice League". At the end of the day is Marvel Studios' panel which this year is very promising with both "Doctor Strange" and "Guardians of the Galaxy 2...

Due to glorious press release timing, 20th Century Fox TV has landed a separate story for its Comic-Con 2014 schedule, even though several of the shows were previously announced in my FX/History Comic-Con 2014 story. Showtime, however, was less lucky and its lone Comic-Con 2014 panel has been bundled into this story along with the 20th Century Fox panels. Thursday, July 24 *** "24" (10 a.m. in Ballroom 20) - Kiefer Sutherland takes the stage for a panel celebrating "24: Live Another Day." There's always one day during the Sdcc when you just shake your head, laugh, and say, "This schedule is ridiculous." Saturday, July 20th, is shaping up to be that day this year.
Horror fans will have a lot of choices to make as the "Bates Motel" panel battles the one-two punch of Godzilla and Seventh Son. Later in the day you'll be faced with choosing to learn more about "True Blood," Telltale's The Walking Dead video game, or "Being Human." Other panels vying for your attention throughout the day are "The Originals," "Grimm," I, Frankenstein teamed with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (that combination should make for some interesting audience reactions), a look at gameplay from Dead Rising 3 on the Xbox One, more games, comics,...

Saturday, July 20 may be the first day that TV programming doesn't upstage the movie events at Comic-Con 2013, but there are still enough TV options to help small screen fans avoid Hall H. It will be a day of vampires, with "The Originals" landing a somewhat odd slot in the Indigo Ballroom and then "True Blood" and "The Vampire Diaries" going back-to-back in Ballroom 20. It was be a day of animation, with "Futurama," "The Simpsons," "Family Guy" and "American Dad" forming their normal midday block in Ballroom 20. And it will be a confusing day for...
