“We’re a show that’s grieving right now on multiple levels,” said Liz Tigelaar during the Little Fires Everywhere writers panel on the final day of Atx TV…from the Couch!.
She first paid tribute to fellow Little Fires executive producer and director Lynn Shelton, who passed away in May from complications of a previously unidentified blood disorder. “We’re grieving for Lynn Shelton, our executive producer, who directed four of the eight episodes, whom we tragically lost very suddenly. We’re grieving for her family, for her friends, for her colleagues, and for her films that we’re not going to get to see, all the work she was still yet to do,” said Tigelaar.
“We’re also grieving with the country for the life of George Floyd, all the black men and women who’ve been murdered simply for being black, said Tigelaar, turning her attention to current events.

“Americanah” is finally coming to life — as a limited series. Friday afternoon HBO Max announced a straight-to-series order for a 10-episode adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel, with Danai Gurira attached to write the pilot and serve as showrunner. Lupita Nyong’o, who starred with Gurira in “Black Panther,” will play the lead, Ifemelu.
“Through ‘Americanah,’ Chimamanda brought the African female voice into mainstream consciousness in an unprecedented way,” Gurira said in a statement. “It is intellectually incisive, indicting, yet full of humor, and riddled with humanity. She makes unheard voices familiar, universal and yet palpably specific. I am honored to bring her incredible novel to life on the screen. I’m thrilled to collaborate once again with Lupita, who brings her astounding ability as a performer and producer shepherding this project, along with HBO Max’s unbridled enthusiasm to bring this groundbreaking narrative to the TV audience.”

HBO Max has given a straight-to-series order to Americanah, a long-time passion project of Lupita Nyong’o. The Oscar-winning 12 Years Of Slave standout will star in and executive produce the limited series based on Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s best-selling novel of the same name. Nyong’o’s Black Panther co-star Danai Gurira wrote the pilot and will serve as showrunner on the 10-episode limited series, which hails from Plan B Entertainment, Potboiler Television and D2 Productions.
Americanah tells the epic story of Ifemelu (Nyong’o), a young, beautiful, self-assured woman raised in Nigeria, who as a teenager falls in love with her classmate Obinze. Living in a military-ruled country, they each depart for the west, with Ifemelu heading for America, where, despite her academic success, she is forced to grapple for the first time with what it means to be black. Quiet, thoughtful Obinze had hoped to join her, but...

Figure skating legend Nancy Kerrigan joined the cast of Dancing With the Stars's 24th season, and ahead of the big premiere, fellow Olympian Kristi Yamaguchi tweeted some words of encouragement to her. But what seemed like an innocent "good luck" took on a new meaning, and it didn't take long for the tweet to go viral after people picked up on the unfortunate choice of words. So excited for you @NancyAKerrigan ! Can't wait to see you grace that ballroom floor, break a leg!

After delivering a fantastic episode that very much followed the classic monster hunting formula, while also having some great moments involving the Winchesters in “Into The Mystic,” Supernatural looks to bring back some recurring characters in next week’s offering.
“Don’t You Forget About Me” will not only see the return of Sheriff Jody Mills, whom fans have become quite accustomed to seeing in recent years, but also Claire (daughter of Jimmy, Castiel’s vessel) and Alex, who has mostly been name dropped since her first appearance. Having all these characters under one roof should make for some combustible elements and I sense the “Spn Family” will take to social media rather quickly after this episode airs.
On that note, the plot thread to keep an eye on in this episode is that Claire has not only become a hunter, but has been attacking humans and accusing them of being monsters.

Supernatural continues to thrill audiences with scares, intriguing storylines and sharp witted humor. It’s no wonder that the cult favorite is now in its eleventh season with no end in sight. When she sees Aidan at work, she agrees to be cordial - at least until they discover what really happened with Erin. Later on, Josh proposes, and Nora says yes.

The co-creators/showrunners/executive producers/writers of Syfy’s Being Human, Anna Fricke and Jeremy Carver, recently took time away from production to speak with the press about the upcoming season two of the show, which premieres on January 16 at 9/8c. They had a Lot to say, and while they were somewhat careful about spoilers, we now have an idea about some major plot points heading our way. I’ll give you a warning before we get to that part.
In response to the question that we probably all had, asked by NoReruns.net, about whether or not they would continue to adapt storylines from the UK series, Anna Fricke stated that they had made a very definite decision to strike out entirely on their own this season. Jeremy Carver added in the qualification that “there’s always going to be an inevitable crossover just by virtue of swimming in the same pond.

Earlier this week Syfy hosted a lengthy conference call with "Being Human" executive producers Anna Fricke and Jeremy Carver so they could tell us what's coming up in the new season, including a few guest stars to be on the lookout for, along with providing some new promo photos. Read on for Part 1 of the call (Part 2 will follow next week), and look for the Season 2 premiere of "Being Human" on January 16th.
Q: Last season many of the plots were similar to the U.K. show; can we expect that the U.S. show will branch off on its own this season?
Anna Fricke: Yes, we made a decision this year to do completely original storylines.
Jeremy Carver: That said, I think given that the show obviously has its roots in the British version, there's always going to be an inevitable crossover just by virtue of swimming in the same pond.

Charlie Sheen may already have a new TV show, but HollywoodLifers have to agree with me here: wouldn’t ‘DWTS’ have been a perfect comeback vehicle for the former ‘Two And A Half Men’ star?
Think about it — Charlie would have a chance to show off everything about himself that is most appealing. He turns on his charm so famously that it carried him through a two-decade long sitcom career. He could go shirtless and show off his abs. And he’d Love dancing on CBS rival ABC!
As for DWTS — it would have given the show a true A-lister to mix it up with predictable reality and sports star choices like Rob Kardashian, Kristin Cavallari, Hope Solo and Ron Artest.
But even without Charlie, I hope that this season’s drama will be amped up by courtroom queen Nancy Grace and new man Chaz Bono. Chaz is just so damn likable!

Everett Kevin Nealon as Doug on “Weeds”
So, as much as we might be starting to think that “Weeds” jumped the shark a while back, we’re glad to see that their art department is exploring some creative credit sequencing this season.
Our opening shot is a copy machine, and the title cards and creator credits are hidden in a series of interesting nooks and crannies. Watch for this copy machine to come back later in today’s episode.
