Frankie Boyle tore into Matt Hancock and Keir Starmer during an appearance on The Last Leg.
The Scottish comedian joined Adam Hills,Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker to talk about the week’s events, which included the leaking of former health secretary Hancock’s private WhatsApp messages sent during the pandemic.
Hancock criticised journalist Isabel Oakeshott, who provided the messages after ghostwriting his book Pandemic Diaries. He called the action a “massive betrayal of trust”.
The messages have prompted yet another backlash against Hancock, with Boyle saying on Friday (3 March): “Even his hairline is trying to disown him.”
He called out Hancock’s decision to appear on ITV series I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, saying that he chose to lie in the ground “surrounded by worms” to try and make the country forget he had “killed their granny”.

The Scottish Doctor Who star also took aim at the Conservative government, describing the UK’s ruling party as “f***wits”.
Partway through Friday’s (3 February) episode of the Channel 4 comedy series, Tennant was asked whether he supported the strikes that have been carried out across various industries, including rail and NHS workers.
“Of course,” Tennant responded. “It’s just the sense that... after everything that’s gone on, through the pandemic, that nurses are having to go on strike to be paid what they’re worth... It makes you want to spit, doesn’t it?”
He then went on to criticise the Tory government’s handling of the strikes, with discussion turning to Rishi Sunak’s 100-days-in-office milestone.

The “brutal” murder of student Megan Newton will be the subject of Sky’s true crime documentary What the Killer Did Next.
Newton, 18, was raped, strangled, and stabbed nine times by semi-pro footballer Joseph Trevor, her former schoolmate, in 2019.
She had met Trevor by chance at a taxi rank at around 3.30am on 20 April 2019 while on a night out after working a shift at one of her three part-time jobs.
Trevor was intoxicated after consuming drink and drugs and was worried about going home to his parents, Stafford Crown Court heard during the trial.
Newton, a self-described “sports fanatic” who was working towards her level one Fa coaching badge and hoped to win a scholarship in the US, agreed to let him crash at her bedsit on Fletcher Road in Stoke-on-Trent.

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has accepted “significant” libel damages over a newspaper story that claimed her role in the popular ITV daytime show had led to a toxic workplace environment.
The former singer, who rose to fame as a member of Irish girl group The Nolans, threatened proceedings against Associated Newspapers over an article published in The Mail on Sunday headlined: “Loose Women at war as stars ‘refuse to work with Coleen Nolan’.”
A press statement said the story, which was published in January this year, “wrongly reported that Coleen’s colleagues had refused to work with her and accused her of being ‘high and mighty behind the scenes’”.
The 57-year-old’s solicitor, Jane Ashford-Thom of Taylor Hampton, said: “The story was false and should never have been published.
“Ms Nolan is on good and professional terms with all panellists and members of the production team of Loose Women.

In a preview for the special, Thompson recalls the first time that she and Grant watched the finished film.
While the viewer response to Love Actually was positive, the Notting Hill star’s reaction was less predictable.

Grant appeared not to remember their interaction, responding: “Did I say that?”

Adam Hills has apologised after a World Cup parody song featured on The Last Leg sparked a backlash among viewers.
The sports comedy show caused upset when they shared their “anthem” for the football tournament on social media, after England beat Iran 6-2 on Monday (21 November).
Performed to the tune of “Three Lions”, the joke song referenced some of the controversies attached to this year’s event and its host country, such as the mistreatment of migrant workers and Qatar’s criminalisation of homosexuality.
Viewers complained about one set of lyrics in particular, which make reference to LGBTQ+ people facing violence: “But in Qatar if Alan Carr toured/ And was joined by Boy George/ And then even RuPaul/ They could end up/ Three heads on a spike.”

Among issues raised about the tournament taking place in the country include the mistreatment of migrant workers and the criminalisation of homosexuality.
During an appearance on Wednesday’s edition (23 November) of Good Morning Britain, Sir Michael discussed his new memoir, My Sporting Life.
When asked who he’d like to interview if given the chance, the 87-year-old broadcaster named the boss of Fifa as someone who he had no interest in conversing with.

Richard Madeley has been called out live on Good Morning Britain for his “absolutely wrong” claim about dentists.
Madeley was co-presenting the ITV series on Tuesday (22 November), when he claimed that he was told NHS dentists were unable to perform tooth extractions.
“I was talking to a private dentist only last week, who was saying that so many people now have to go private because NHS dentists are not capable of doing extractions anymore,” he said, adding: “They are simply not trained up to the level, they are not confident doing extractions.”
Reid, pre-empting a backlash from angry viewers, replied: “Oh, what’s that sound I hear? Oh yes, it’s all the NHS dentists getting in touch with the programme to say that that is absolutely wrong.”

The ex-England international, who was part of the squad that won the Women’s Euros earlier this year, spoke about sexuality in a moment of downtime with fellow contestants Boy George and Seann Walsh.
“In women’s football, coming out and homosexuality, is it more open? As obviously that is a problem in men’s football,” said Walsh.
“I think in the men’s game, it’s so difficult,” Scott replied. “If you think about how much stick they get from the chants… it’s just not a safe environment where they feel safe enough to kind of do that. And that’s so sad.

Jonathan Ross has said that Matt Hancock is “not a celebrity” despite the fact that the politician is currently starring in I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
Ross also ruled out interviewing the former health secretary on his eponymous talk show.
“No, I wouldn’t [interview him]. He’s not a celebrity,” the host told Sunday People.
“He’s a horrible human being and I cannot bear the way people take no responsibility for their actions.”
Ross added of the MP for West Suffolk: “He was very bad when he was in office and he’s – remarkably – even worse now he’s out of it!”
However, Ross did admit to “enjoying” the series so far, saying he was “more impressed by the women than the men”.

Chris Oliver-Taylor on the set of ‘Neighbours’.
Since taking the helm of Fremantle’s Asia Pacific operations last September, Chris Oliver-Taylor has been busy realigning the Australasian business.
Adhering to Fremantle’s global mantra as “the place creatives call home,” the CEO has significantly upped the drama development budget and is prepared to commission blind scripts, i.e., before a network is aboard.
Oliver-Taylor and his team led by Jennifer Collins, the Australian director of content, are discussing projects with a host of A-grade writers including Robert Connolly, Giula Sandler, Katherine Thomson, Tommy Murphy and Matt Cameron.
“We want to work with world-class writers, predominantly but not exclusively Australian,” he tells If in his first interview since moving over from Matchbox Pictures, succeeding Ian Hogg.
“The second part of the strategy is having great IP, whether it’s a book, a play or an original idea. The third is a strong financial strategy.

After two relatively minor standalone entries in the Marvel franchise, Thor: Ragnarok worked wonders in proving the viability of the God of Thunder as an entertaining McU lead, and a major reason for this success is the endearing and memorable array of supporting players that Chris Hemsworth’s character was allowed to bounce off. And while Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie is arguably looking like the Ragnarok newcomer with the most prominent future in the saga, a comparable number of hearts were won over by Korg the Kronan, voiced by director Taika Waititi himself
In a recent interview, the filmmaker reflected on this rock-based gladiator and his inspiration for the character’s soft-spoken manner.
“In New Zealand we have a lot of giant, hulking bouncers and that’s their accent, dudes with very delicate souls,” Waititi recalled. “It’s very intimidating when you try to get into a nightclub…and it...

Wow! The Last Leg presenter Adam Hills got into the spirit of Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer telethon by shaving his head.
Viewers were asked to vote on how they would like the show to finish, either with diehard Arsenal fan Alex Brooker wearing a Spurs football shirt, Greg Davies weightlifting Josh Widdicombe or Hills shaving his head.
Looking good @adamhillscomedy! #su2c #standuptocancer pic.twitter.com/PpDV5ZQmdP
— The Last Leg (@TheLastLeg) October 9, 2015
The poll was announced at the end of the show as 11% for the Spurs shirt, 23% for Greg's weightlifting and an overwhelming 66% voted in favour of Hills going bald.
Quick to pick up the clippers were Brooker and guest Russell Howard, who didn't take long to shear Hills of his thick head of hair.
The impact seemed to dawn on the comedian, who shrieked: "What have I done? What have I done?!"
Thanks for watching...

The BBC licence fee is always a hot topic, and culture secretary John Whittingdale will face questions about it during this year's Edinburgh International TV Festival.
The Conservative MP will also take questions about the BBC's charter renewal and Channel 4's future amid rumours of its privatisation, in a one-on-one interview with journalist Alastair Stewart.
"We are delighted that the new culture secretary is coming to the TV Festival in its 40th anniversary year," said Guardian Edinburgh TV Festival advisory chair Zai Bennett.
"There are few MPs more knowledgeable about the media than John Whittingdale, and I'm sure the industry will be excited to hear his views on issues ranging from the impending charter renewal, to discussions on privatisation. This really is a session not to be missed."
The government recently denied it has plans to sell off Channel 4 following Ofcom's third review of public service broadcasting, which is currently under way.

Best known as one of the trio leading The Last Leg, Josh Widdicombe gets back to the day job with a new stand-up tour this autumn.
The comedian plays over 40 dates across the UK on his What Do I Do Now... tour from September 10 to December 20. Full details are available here.
"Since he's been away from stand-up, Josh has been working hard on other things... but don't worry. In his spare time he has found a lot of minor things to get annoyed about, and now he has a chance to talk about them on stage (in the form of jokes)," said promoters.
"If you have seen him before live or on TV and enjoyed yourself, then this is the show for you. If you didn't like him, then it probably isn't."
Before then, Widdicombe reunites with Adam Hills and Alex Brooker for a trio of Last Leg specials ahead of the 2015 General Election.
