It's Back. It feels like forever since we had Made in Chelsea on our screens and it returned last night with Barbados, bikinis and lots and lots and lots of newbies. It was a pretty packed instalment of Chelsea nonsense, so read on for 15 things that we loved...
1. The frankly ridiculous opening sequence.
We tend to shout all over the continuity announcer's claims that "some of the scenes have been created for your entertainment" because we prefer to live in a world where Made in Chelsea is 100%, complete and total real life. Which It Is, Right? Unfortunately even we couldn't take the opening sequence seriously as Sam Thompson legged it down the street, bumped into Mark-Francis and woke up Jamie so he didn't miss his flight to Barbados. Utter nonsense.
2. Andy's instant attraction to newbie Jess.
Andy was already standing with new girl Millie when up rocked her friend Jess ("small,...

James Wan, who scared audiences with "The Conjuring," "Insidious" and "Saw" franchises, is getting "Demonic." Wan is producing the film starring Maria Bello ("A History of Violence," "Third Person") and Frank Grillo ("The Purge: Anarchy"). Dimension Films will release it this winter. Will Canon ("Brotherhood") will direct, with Lee Clay ("Beautiful Boy") co-producing. "Demonic" follows Detective Mark Lewis (Grillo) and psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Klein (Bello) as they interview a survivor of a mysterious massacre where several amateur ghost-hunters died. What really happened? "James Wan is the new master of terror and we are thrilled to be releasing his film this December," said Dimension Films' Erik Lomis in a press release. It’s fair to say that the impressive promotional campaign for Rob Minkoff’s Mr. Peabody & Sherman exudes a confidence in the product, as one that had begun a while back, as our titular characters illuminated the prestigious Oxford Street lights in London over Christmas. It transpires that any such self-assurance is justifiable, as Minkoff and co. have every cause to feel optimistic, presenting an animation that is exceedingly good fun.
Based on the 1960s cartoon characters, we delve into the life of Mr. Peabody (Ty Burrell), an immensely intellectual inventor, who also happens to be a dog. However given his unique talents (he can speak too, you know), he was allowed to adopt a young boy named Sherman (Max Charles), who he has raised as his own since discovering him as an abandoned baby. The pair often set off on time travelling escapades given the former’s most ingenious creation yet – the Wabac machine.

The almost outrageously intense, kidnapping thriller is hitting this week, and the Prisoners trailer doesn’t pull any punches.
With the possible exceptions of Jake Gyllenhaal (because he is still underrated) and Paul Dano (because not enough people know who he is), the cast of Prisoners should sell the film by itself. The word “Oscar®” follows this movie around like a bad penny.
Hugh Jackman and Terence Howard fill the pivotal roles of fathers whose daughters have been abducted. Gyllenhaal is the lead detective on the case, and Dano plays a suspect who is caught up in the thick of things, but is too mentally challenged to have orchestrated anything as complex as this case seems to be.
Rounding out the cast are Maria Bello, Viola Davis, and Melissa Leo, and if that weren’t enough, it’s directed by Denis Villeneuve, whose Incendies was nominated in the foreign language category.

When the Duchess of Cambridge goes into labor in the coming weeks, she'll be taking Bruno Mars with her into the delivery room.
Not literally, obviously. But according to 4 Music in the U.K., the former Kate Middleton is compiling a playlist to listen to while she's at the hospital, and Mars is among the artists she's picked. Of Monsters and Men and Calvin Harris are also on the playlist, so it's safe to say Catherine is a pop-music fan.
Vanity Fair has offered up a few additional suggestions, including Fergie's "London Bridge" and Miley Cyrus' "Can't Stop" ("Once you start delivering a baby, you literally cannot stop"), along with either John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" or Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely," depending on the royal baby's gender.

Missed Targets: Danner’s Film After-school Special Fodder
Reveling in the fact that it was made before the latest rash of mass shootings, including 2012’s Aurora, Colorado’s theater massacre, Michelle Danner’s ungainly sophomore effort, Hello Herman still fails to have a timely edge or any other quality of merit, for that matter. Rather, this poorly constructed social issue film is fitted for the same destiny as one of its characters as is outlined by the main protagonist in the film, a footnote to a rather lengthy list of unremarkable footnotes. That’s not to diminish the profound tragedy that is the result of such horrific violence, and exploring the how and the why of these incidents is of paramount importance. While Danner avoids exploitative tactics, her film, unfortunately lacks any kind of elegance or finesse, instead bluntly bludgeoning its audience with the obvious, exuding all the grace of high school theatrical production.

Garret Dillahunt (“Raising Hope”), Tom Felton (Harry Potter), and Jake Abel (The Host) are set to star in Ghosts Of The Pacific, the true story of three WWII Navy flyers cast adrift on the South Pacific in 1942. The feature will be produced by The American Film Company, which specializes in making movies based on true stories from America’s past.

The second show of the second week of The Voice (4.3/13) on Tuesday saw the fourth night of blind auditions. There was some singing of an Adele tune, a model-turned-singer, some chairs turned around, judge Blake Shelton’s offer to adopt a contestant, and a few fine dance moves from Usher. The one-hour episode was up 5% from the March 26 show’s final numbers and up 10% from last week’s fast nationals of 3.9/12. So don’t be surprised if today’s final number sees a bump. In that long road back from its ratings hell, NBC is taking pride that the fast national for last night’s Voice is the best result for any show on NBC, ABC, CBS or Fox in Tuesday primetime since The Voice Season 3 finale on December 18. NBC won Tuesday in the adults 18-49 demo, with CBS taking the top spot in total viewers with 9.544 million. Related: TV...

A panel was held last night for NBC’s The New Normal at the 30th annual PaleyFest TV Festival. Co-creators Ryan Murphy and Ali Adler were on hand as well as Executive Producer Dante Di Loreto and cast members Andrew Rannells (Brian), Justin Bartha (David), NeNe Leakes (Rocky), Georgia King (Goldie), Bebe Wood (Shania) and Jayson Blair (Clay). John Stamos, who plays Brice on the show, moderated the panel. (Ellen Barkin was filming late and could not attend. While the show may be struggling in the ratings, there was much love in the room for the freshman sitcom.
Here are 10 things we gleaned from the upbeat panel:
The baby is coming! Yes, we will meet Brian and David’s baby by the end of the first season, but don’t expect the typical zany madcap sitcom birth. Murphy revealed, “We’ve...

I've been a little less interested in the CW's dystopian romance pilot The Selection the second time around, but I'm starting to pay attention now that Anthony Stewart Head has joined the drama, as The Hollywood Reporter reports.
TV Guide's account about the drama behind the scenes at Up All Night has me almost wishing we got to see the transition from a single camera comedy into a multi-cam one. Apparently, some of the ideas for the transition included declaring that the multi-cam show was an alternate universe from the single cam version of the show — with baby Amy having the power to see into both universes (really!) and a show-within-a-show about three actors in a sitcom called Up All Night. If that's the kind of nuttiness that the revamp will bring, I'm starting my "Save Up All Night" campaign.

Diane Haithman contributes to Deadline’s TV coverage. At tonight’s PaleyFest panel featuring cast and producers of NBC’s freshman comedy The New Normal, it came as no surprise when show co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed that recurring guest star John Stamos, who hosted the panel, would continue to recur as Brice the realtor (Stamos jokingly demanded to know). More surprising was when Murphy announced that one of the final season episodes will feature an entire act with no dialogue, only music. And not just any music: John Lennon’s song “Beautiful Boy.” Murphy said the song is one of his and show co-creator Ali Adler’s favorites so they asked for permission to use it. “We reached out to Yoko Ono, and she said yes,” Murphy said. “So we are thankful to Yoko Ono. I just wanted to do something different.” Related: ‘Community’ Teases All Puppet Episode, 5th Season...

"The New Normal" cast and creators were on hand at Paleyfest 2013 where they talked about what fans can look forward to for the big season finale.
"We've been building towards David and Bryan getting married. And we're building towards a baby being born," says creator Ryan Murphy. "And we're building towards Georgia, her character deciding if she's going to get back together with Clay or continue on this independent path she's created."
"The marriage and the baby don't happen in the way you think they're going to, but it's so satisfying," adds co-creator Ali Adler.
Murphy also teases a special thing the viewers can look for -- much to the chagrin of Adler, who didn't want to spill the beans -- a dialogue-free act of the show.

We’ve been periodically posting updates on James Wan’s House of Horror since early 2011, but it looks like the project is ready to move forward (possibly with a new title). It was revealed that Maria Bello was circling the lead role in the film this April, but Dimension Films has just announced that she has officially been cast. We also have confirmation on the director, a shooting date, and an updated synopsis:
“Dimension Films announced today that Golden Globe nominated Maria Bello (A History Of Violence, The Cooler) has been cast as the lead female in The Untitled ‘James Wan Presents’ Thriller. James Wan, who co-created the highly successful Saw and Insidious franchises, will produce the film along with Lee Clay (Beautiful Boy). Dimension Films set Maria Bello to star in an untitled thriller to be directed by Will Canon from a Max La Bella script. The pic is based on an idea from James Wan, who’ll produce with Lee Clay. Clay worked with Bello on Beautiful Boy. Wan co-created the Saw and Insidious franchises and just wrapped The Conjuring for New Line. Shooting begins January 2013 in Baton Rouge, La, and the film will be released by Dimension. The film centers on the aftermath of a horrific massacre: five college students, brutally murdered inside a decrepit, abandoned home. Fresh on the scene, detective Mark Lewis and the police department’s psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Klein (Bello), question one of the few survivors who explains they were amateur ghost-hunters, seeking out paranormal phenomenon at the abandoned house, believed to be haunted. But what started out as a harmless activity turned into something truly terrifying,...

We've already heard that Cameron Crowe is looking to get behind the camera again with a revamped version of his gestating Deep Tiki project with Emma Stone now lined up to play the lead, but that's not the only directing gig in his future. The Wrap has word that Crowe is looking to adapt Beautiful Boy, based on David Sheff's best-selling memoir of the same name. The book is a chronicle from the established journalist as he deals with his son's addiction to drugs. In addition, the film, which has been in the works for awhile, will also draw from a memoir Sheff's son Nic wrote himself, Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines. Here's the official synopsis of Beautiful Boy: Before Nic Sheff became addicted to crystal meth, he was a charming boy, joyous and funny, a varsity athlete and honor student adored by his two younger siblings. After meth,...

Cameron Crowe ("Almost Famous," "We Bought a Zoo") is lining up the long-gestating film adaptation of David Sheff's novel "Beautiful Boy" as one of his upcoming projects says The Wrap.
Crowe's script is said to be a "meditation" on both Sheff's book and his son Nic's memoir "Tweak". 'Boy' chronicles Nic's descent into methamphetamine abuse as a teenager from the perspective of his father.
Sheff conducted the last major interview with John Lennon before he was assassinated in 1980, the title refers to the song John penned for his son Sean that year.
Paramount optioned the rights in 2008 for Steven Zaillian to adapt and Plan B to produce. Paramount is out but Plan B remains onboard to co-produce with New Regency.
Crowe is reportedly looking to direct the film after he completes the romantic comedy "Deep Tiki" which was revived from cold storage last month at Sony.

Given all the projects he’s attached to and scripts he has on the go, Cameron Crowe is well and truly back in action. Just last month, word arrived that Emma Stone was set to star in a new romantic comedy for the writer-director and now he’s got two more potential projects in the works. One of the two, however, is something he's been working on for a whille. According to The Wrap, Crowe is moving ahead with his adaptation of two memoirs – he's planning to turn David Sheff’s bestseller Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction and son Nick Sheff’s related tome Tweak: Growing Up On Methamphetamines into one tale of father-son struggle. The project originated at Paramount and Brad Pitt’s Plan B company, which teamed up to buy the rights to both books back in 2008. You might have forgotten, but in 2011 Cameron Crowe dropped three movies after being absent from the big screen for six years: the Matt Damon dramedy "We Bought a Zoo" and two music documentaries, "The Union" and "Pearl Jam Twenty." And heading into 2012, he isn't slowing down one bit. At the end of last month, his once-aborted romantic comedy "Deep Tiki" came back to life over at Sony with Emma Stone attached, and now he's got two more projects brewing that he'll tackle once that picture is in the can. The Wrap reveals that the drug addiction memoir "Beautiful Boy" is being prepped as Crowe's followup effort to "Deep Tiki." This one has been in the works for a while as well, and in early 2011 it was reported that Crowe's adapation of David Sheff's memoir -- which chronicled his son's meth addiction -- was rejected by Brad Pitt's Plan B...

We Bought a Zoo director Cameron Crowe has lined up another directing gig for himself, a film adaptation of David Sheff’s novel Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction. The story centers on a family dealing with their son’s meth addiction.
According to The Wrap, "Crowe’s script is a 'meditation' on both 'Beautiful Boy' and the related memoir written by Sheff’s son, Nic Sheff, about his own experience on drugs, 'Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines.'" The title of the film, Beautiful Boy, refers to the classic song that John Lennon wrote for his son Sean in 1980. Apparently David Sheff was inspired to start a family after conducting the last major interview with Lennon before he was killed in New York in 1980.
Crowe is looking to direct this movie once he's finished with the untitled romantic comedy that he's currently developing.

Those who were excited to hear Cameron Crowe would make Deep Tiki with Emma Stone? Don’t let the headline scare you. TheWrap tells us he’ll get down to that business in short order, after which he’ll be partnering with Plan B and New Regency on the addiction drama Beautiful Boy.
His already-complete screenplay is semi-based on David Sheff‘s memoir, Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction, though the work is actually a “meditation” which aims toward that book and a parallel account by his own son, Nic, entitled Tweak: Growing Up on Methamphetamines. Los Angeles -- There seems to be very little of the blame-it-on-Hollywood backlash in the wake of the Colorado theater massacre that so often occurs when people struggle to make sense of a senseless, violent act.
Many agree that you simply can't hold the art form itself responsible in the shooting that left 12 people dead and 58 others injured at a packed midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises." The alleged shooter, 24-year-old James Holmes, appeared in court Monday for the first time since the bloody attack of early Friday morning. While his hair was dyed the kind of bright, orange-red shade you might see in a comic book, authorities say it could take months to determine a motive.
Still, the film industry seems to recognize the potential for scrutiny and has shown sensitivity in response to the tragedy, if not some defensiveness.
