You know, just like how J.J. Abrams said he wouldn't direct the new "Star Wars."
Response was mixed to Seth MacFarlane's hosting of the 85th Annual Academy Awards (personally, we thought he came off best whenever he didn't try so hard), but even if Oscar ends up wanting him back for another go-round, the "Family Guy" creator doesn't want the gig, according to The Live Feed.
"No way. Lotta fun to have done it, though," MacFarlane tweeted Tuesday morning in response to a question from one of his nearly 3.8 million followers.
The 85th Annual Academy Awards had 40 million viewers and a 19 percent boost among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic, which made the broadcast a hit as far as numbers are concerned. But the show is also already considered to be one of the most awkward and uneven in the history of the Oscars with too-long bits with William Shatner,...

Is Seth MacFarlane washing his hands of the Oscars? Just days after hosting the 85th annual Academy Awards, the Family Guy creator may have put to rest the question of whether or not he'd take his turn overseeing the kudos-fest again. "No way. Lotta fun to have done it, though," he tweeted in response to a question from one of his nearly 3.8 million followers early Tuesday morning. Since producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron banned the evidently stuffy "85th Annual Academy Awards" phrasing from Sunday's broadcast, that's the only name I'm going to use for the poorly managed affair that passed for Hollywood's biggest night. If this is supposed to be the entertainment capital of the world, how is it that most of the presenters seemed as though they had read through their routines no more than once, that Melissa McCarthy achieved the impossible by failing to elicit a single laugh and that the gathered co-stars of The Avengers showed so little rapport they looked as

Lucky Jennifer! While celebrating her win at the 85th Academy Awards on Feb. 24, Jennifer caught Jack checking out her butt. At 75 years-old, he is more than three times her age!
The 85th Annual Academy Awards really was Jennifer Lawrence‘s lucky night! Not only did she take home the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, she also got hit on by legendary actor Jack Nicholson! Jennifer, 22, and Jack 75, have a 50 year age gap between them, and Jennifer is the same age as Jack’s daughter Lorraine! While being interviewed by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Jack wandered over to congratulate Jennifer, and he told her she looked like his ex girlfriend!

The 85th Annual Academy Awards are officially over, and Peter Travers is none too pleased. "You enjoyed three hours and 40 minutes of total boredom?" he quips. But Travers isn't even talking about the Academy's selections and snubs; he's focused on the Oscars show itself. Though Travers is a fan of host Seth MacFarlane, he rips the Ted and Family Guy creator for his performance. "He turned it into the Tony awards with musical numbers," fumes Travers, especially focusing on the William Shatner bit and numerous singing interludes. "It was so dull.

The 85th Annual Academy Awards didn't have a lot of surprises -- it was widely expected that "Argo," Jennifer Lawrence and Daniel Day-Lewis would win and they did -- but let's take another look what Oscar voters declared 2012's best in film.
It starts with "Argo," the Best Picture winner, which overcame the nomination morning snub of Ben Affleck in the Best Director category to dominate pretty much all of Hollywood's award season. In doing so, "Argo" became only the fourth movie in history to win a Best Picture Oscar without at least receiving a Best Director nomination. "Argo" also claimed wins in the Best Film Editing and Best Adapted Screenplay categories.
But "Argo" was not the night's most honored film. That was Ang Lee's visually dazzling literary adaptation "Life of Pi" which took home four Oscars: Best Director for Lee, Best Visual Effects, Best Cinematography and Best Original Score.

The 85th annual Academy Awards ended with a bang -- and not the announcement that "Argo" had won Best Picture.
As revealed on Wednesday night, the Oscars finale included a song and dance number featuring Seth MacFarlane and Kristen Chenoweth. (Because nothing says "Hollywood's biggest night" like a television star and Broadway icon.)
"We just want to say, 'Here's to the losers,'" MacFarlane said as he and Chenoweth launched into an ode to those who did not go home with Oscars. Lyrics were along the lines of: "You have all Tom Cruise's talent, and you're equally as tall — Here's to the losers, God bless them all."
MacFarlane and Chenoweth closed out the telecast, which ended just past midnight on the East Coast.

The 85th Annual Academy Awards took place Sunday in Los Angeles, with many a star being added to the Oscars winners list for 2013.
The top categories went as such: "Argo" won Best Picture, Daniel Day-Lewis took Best Actor, Jennifer Lawrence bested the rest for Best Actress, Ang Lee hoisted the Oscar for Best Directing and Christoph Waltz and Anne Hathaway were awarded Best Supporting Actor and Actress, respectively.
Seth MacFarlane hosted the award telecast, which took place at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre (previously and perhaps better known as the Kodak Theatre). The "Family Guy" funnyman admitted to being nervous about the gig, telling the Associated Press that it was "the hardest job in the world," despite being a "one-off."
This year's Oscars included a number of notable set-pieces. Adele performed "Skyfall," Barbra Streisand graced the stage, the cast of "Chicago" reunited and even a bit of "Les Miserables" was thrown in for good measure.

Ted stopped by the Oscars on Sunday, accompanying his co-star Mark Wahlberg to present the awards for Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.
The bear referenced the "big post-Oscars Hollywood orgy," which Wahlberg said was "at Jack Nicholson's house."
Seth MacFarlane, who hosted the Academy Awards, voices Ted in the movie by the same name. The cantankerous bear is known for his off-color jokes and bizarrely human interest in females.
He also made a number of Jewish jokes, telling Wahlberg that he should pretend to be Jewish if he wants to continue to "work in this town."
"Ted" was a box office smash and raked in over $535 million dollars at the global box office. A sequel is confirmed, which makes sense given that the first film is seventh-highest grossing R-rated movie of all time.

The 85th Annual Academy Awards took place Sunday in Los Angeles, with "Searching for Sugar Man" taking the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature.
Malik Bendjelloul directed "Sugar Man," which bested "The Gatekeepers," "5 Broken Cameras," "How to Survive a Plague," and "The Invisible War" for the award.
"Sugar Man," a big pre-awards favorite, tells the nearly unbelievable true story of Sixto Rodriguez. The Detroit native left music behind for construction jobs, all while being a cult figure in South Africa, where his music was revered alongside the likes of The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. The rediscovery of Rodriguez -- and his eventual comeback -- provide the base for Bendjelloul's sweetheart documentary.
Rodriguez has since lined up multiple gigs and eagerly made the media rounds since his film saw its American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.
"5 Broken Cameras" found itself at the center of a firestorm in the week leading up to the Oscars.

The cast of "Les Miserables" hit the Oscars stage on Sunday night to celebrate the Best Picture nominee.
Anne Hathaway, Huge Jackman, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks, Helena Bonham Carter, Aaron Tveit, and Russell Crowe performed "One Day More" and the Oscar-nominated "Suddenly" from "Les Miserables" in a celebration of the musicals of the last decade. The group was joined by Jennifer Hudson and Catherine Zeta-Jones to highlight "Dreamgirls" and "Chicago."
The musicals number wasn't the only performance of the night, however. The awards show also included performances from Barbra Streisand, Adele, and Norah Jones. It was announced just days before the Oscars that Kristen Chenoweth and Seth MacFarlance would close the show with a musical performance.
"Les Miserables" was nominated for a total of eight awards: Best Picture, Best Actor for Hugh Jackman, Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway, Best Original Song for "Suddenly," Best Sound Mixing, Best Production Design,...

Seth MacFarlane joins the ranks of Bob Hope, Fred Astaire, and Frank Sinatra Sunday evening as he hosts the Academy Awards.
"Certainly Billy Crystal, Johnny Carson and Bob Hope are the three that stand out as the paragons of class and effectiveness and comedic balance in the history of the Oscars," MacFarlane told the AP last week. "I'm going to go out there and certainly be mindful that that's what works but also try and inject some of what I do into the mix and hopefully come out with something that is fresh and surprising and has an edge but doesn't completely thumb its nose at the Oscars."
MacFarlane was seen as a risky choice by some for his boundary-pushing sense of humor.

Former As the World Turns hunk Jesse Soffer has joined the cast of NBC's modern-day Hatfields & McCoys drama, Deadline reports. Offer will appear as a prodigal son of the McCoy clan who returns to the fold just as the feud starts to heat up again. Now, if only I had more reason to include the phrase "Former As the World Turns hunk" more often.
The story of the ratings for The Americans has been a bumpy road. The espionage drama had a big debut, (what looked like) a large second-week drop-off and followed with a big gain from DVR viewers. Thankfully, the nervous part is over as FX has ordered a second season, meaning we'll get to keep seeing Matthew Rhys in a variety of disguises. Additionally, Nielsen has finished counting the viewers for the premiere and it now ranks as FX's most-watched series debut.

There’s always a lot of talk leading up to the big day about who will win what awards. We try to make our predictions based on trends from the past, but we can’t help to be swayed by our own personal opinions. Some movies truly strike a chord with us, while others aren’t interesting at all. Furthermore, Oscar films are usually heavy in the drama department and therefore they aren’t always the easiest or most entertaining movies to watch.
That’s why we’re here. Here is your guide to the nominees of this year’s Academy Awards. I’ve compiled the following brief summaries, interesting facts, and critical reviews for all these films and people.

Kristen Chenoweth and Seth MacFarlane -- two stars known, respectively, for the stage and small screen -- will close out the Oscars on Sunday night with a final musical performance after the Best Picture award is announced.
"Seth and Kristin will perform a special number and we think it will be a 'can't miss' moment," said Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron in a statement.
The 85th annual Academy Awards are loaded with Broadway flourishes and musical performances -- a twist, perhaps, since the night ostensibly celebrates the best movies of the last year. In addition to the closing number, the Oscars will feature performances from Adele, Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, the cast of "Les Miserables" and past Oscar winners Renee Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Of course, this shouldn't be too surprising: Zadan and Meron were producers on the 2002 Best Picture winner "Chicago" (which is celebrating 10 years as an...

Only four days until the Academy Awards Oscars! Oh, you haven't heard? Now it's just the Oscars. Just days before Seth MacFarlane takes the stage on Sunday, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has quietly dropped "the 85th annual Academy Awards" from the show's famous moniker, citing a "rebrand" as their reasoning. "We're not calling it 'the 85th annual Academy Awards,' which keeps it mired somewhat in a musty way," Oscar show coproducer Neil Meron told TheWrap. "It's called 'The Oscars.'" The phrase '85 annual Academy Awards' is now completely absent from any poster or press release, and the famous title...

If you were up this morning to watch the Oscar nominations announced live, you saw the The 85th Annual Academy Awards host Seth MacFarlane and Gangster Squad's Emma Stone reading off the nominees, among which was a nomination for MacFarlane for Original Song ("Everybody Needs a Best Friend" from Ted). When Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane visited ABC's Shark Tank to support a friend, I bet the last thing he expected was to be treated to a dip in the Shark infested water himself.

A mother from Walnut Creek, CA found inspiration when her little girl burnt her bottom on a hot swing, motivating mom to create a multi-functional child cover that can serve as a seat protector, car shade and more.
