Votes: 9,167

Rate 5 - Mostly not interesting - Poor / French release date 4 may 2016 cinema - (DVD 7 september 2016) - The reworking of a screenplay from an unexceptional Spanish film - The actors aren't really bad, but the plot lacks interest and originality.

Director: Roar Uthaug | Stars: Kristoffer Joner, Ane Dahl Torp, Jonas Hoff Oftebro, Edith Haagenrud-Sande

Votes: 42,791 | Gross: $0.18M

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 27 july 2016 cinema - (DVD 7 december 2016) - If the subject of the movie is plausible (and therefore not uninteresting), the film does not escape the clichés specific to disaster films. Everything is predictable and by this, the film completely loses its interest

Votes: 772

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 5 october 2016 cinema - (DVD 6 february 2017) - Nothing transcendent here. The subject is common: its originality comes from its treatment in the sphere of rugby. The scenario quickly shows its limits despite actors invested in their roles.

Votes: 169,811 | Gross: $40.10M

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 23 november 2016 cinema - (DVD 4 april 2017) - Good actors and beautiful images do not always make a good film. Here, the overly romanticized scenario and a few grotesque scenes ruin everything.

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 22 february 2017 cinema - (DVD 6 september 2017) - 4 women featured in 3 stories. The landscapes are splendid. The actresses and actors play well. The problem comes from the lack of binding in the scenario and that the stories are more or less captivating.

9. Ladies (2017)

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 3 may 2017 cinema - (DVD 6 september 2017) - A sympathic remake of a classic. Good actors but I'd rather like watching the classic film

11. Little Boy (2015)

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 10 may 2017 cinema - (DVD 17 october 2017) - A film that is easy to watch. I liked the moments of complicity between the young actor and his father then with the Japanese refugee. I liked less the overflow of good feelings which detract from my final appreciation.

Votes: 247,107 | Gross: $75.47M

Votes: 1,809

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 29 november 2017 cinema - (DVD 3 april 2018) - A story that becomes confusing because it wants to address too many different topical issues. Full of good feelings, too many good feelings.

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 28 february 2018 cinema - (DVD 4 july 2018) -A screenwriting too simple and a bland romance. Beautiful landscapes and interesting cinematography are not enough to make me enjoy watching this film.

20. The Death of Stalin (2017)

Votes: 113,490 | Gross: $8.05M

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 4 april 2018 cinema - (DVD 1 november 2018) - Very good for costumes, sets and images. However, the mix between historical reality and the exaggeration of the facts and the scenario bothers me. We sometimes no longer manage to disentangle the false from the true. I would have personally preferred either an authentic account of the event, or an even more offbeat parody that has nothing to do with reality.

21. Game Night (I) (2018)

Votes: 583,850 | Gross: $188.02M

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 20 june 2018 cinema - (DVD 30 october 2018) -A promising start around an excellent idea. Unfortunately, badly designed creatures, a disappointing plot, a few nonsense (a baby who makes little noise, a 4-year-old child who manages to survive until that age...) spoil this film.

Votes: 6,132

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 19 december 2018 cinema - (DVD 19 april 2019) - A historical reconstruction of Paris during the First Empire, impressive both for the sets (narrow and dark streets, triumphal arch under construction, Tuileries) and for the costumes: On this point, this film is a perfect success. What a pity that the too current dialogues are not up to par! What a pity also that the story is sometimes too arranged compared to what really had to happen even if the main lines are respected.

Votes: 1,672

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 6 february 2019 cinema - (DVD 4 june 2019) - The actors and actresses are good. The scenario, although predictable, is well done. The story talks about an important subject which shows how an error can be easily realized for lack of evidence. The lawyer's argument is convincing. What bothers me here: The mix between reality and fiction with a character invented from scratch who mixes with real people to the totally fictional main character.

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 4 may 2022 cinema - (DVD 6 september 2022) - An interesting first half hour but the too poor scenario made me fall into boredom. Something is missing for the film to become touching

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 4 may 2022 cinema - (DVD 7 september 2022) - The originality comes from the mixture of two opposing musical universes: opera and rap. Otherwise the scenario is jerrybuilt and full of clichés

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 31 august 2022 cinema - (DVD 3 january 2023) - Interesting and original film but it goes all the way. This impression of disorder and mixture of all genres ends up being tiring with excellent ideas (the stones) and much less good ones.

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 31 august 2022 cinema - (DVD 13 february 2023) - Rather interesting film but unfortunately many films have already been made on this theme. Violence is omnipresent there. If certain subjects such as recruitment and the total absence of freedom are well treated. The rap musical incursion is disturbing and spoils the film in my opinion. Moreover, except for the rescue of the child, the way seems dead end and leaves no hope to the viewer, which is disconcerting.

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 30 november 2022 cinema - (DVD 18 april 2023) - An atypical film that alternates very beautiful images and uninteresting sequences . The pace is slow and not much happens . Boredom probably wanted by the director awaits the viewer

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 28 december 2022 cinema - (DVD 26 may 2023) - The images are magnificent, the actors are quite good, the parallel with the civil war is interesting but the unrealistic scenario and the few lengths spoil this promising picture.

98. Tár (2022)

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 25 january 2023 cinema - (DVD 31 may 2023) - Too long, much too long film that begins with endless credits. The film takes over an hour to really get going. It's a shame because the subject covered is interesting and the fact of having women in a man's environment is quite relevant. The performance of the main actress is also quite convincing.

Votes: 12,183

Rate 6 - why not - Nearly good / French release date 26 april 2023 cinema - (DVD 3 october 2023) - Sumptuous opening scenes (chasm and wild boar hunt...), a very good restitution of corruption, a confrontation between modernity and traditions, an unexpected ending... Despite all these good aspects, this film does not hold up its promises, the fault of an investigation that is sometimes too caricatured and predictable with multiple flashbacks which weigh down the script.

Director: Greta Gerwig | Stars: Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon

Votes: 536,833 | Gross: $636.24M

Rate 5 - Mostly not interesting - Poor / French release date 19 july 2023 cinema - (DVD 22 november 2023) - Behind beautiful sets and beautiful costumes, at a time when all misogynistic remarks are rightly condemned, this consumerist and wokist film promotes derivative products. Men are caricatured at their most stupid. We think we are back in 1950 for Western society and yet not all men behave like that. Worse, the message will not get across in truly macho countries where it will be banned, but, for this film to really reach its target. The final message is catastrophic. Why not promote a society where equality between the sexes would be the norm rather than the status quo of two societies caricatured to excess?
