It’s been nearly five years since the release of Tim Miller’s Terminator: Dark Fate, where Linda Hamilton last reprised her role as Sarah Connor. Therefore, in an attempt to keep the franchise alive, James Cameron recently informed audiences that he’s working on a reboot, in May 2023. However, despite ongoing preparation, Hamilton seems to have lost her interest in returning to the franchise.

Universal Pictures and Peacock forked over an amount somewhere in the range of $400 million to acquire the rights to distribute a trilogy of sequels to the 1973 classic The Exorcist, which we’re going to another collaboration between Blumhouse Productions and directed David Gordon Green (who recently delivered a trilogy of Halloween sequels), they were definitely expecting the first entry in the new trilogy to go over better with audiences than The Exorcist: Believer did when it was released last October. (You can read our 4/10 review Here.) The box office numbers were okay, the movie pulled in $137 million on a $30 million budget, but Universal was hoping for a lot better than “okay,” and the reactions were largely negative. Soon after the release of Believer, we heard that Universal and Blumhouse still intended to carry out the trilogy, but the follow-ups would be reworked. While speaking to The Direct this week, producer...

Though the group postponed many of their tour dates after lead singer Steven Tyler damaged his vocal chords, they currently plan to resume shows in 2024. In recent years, the band has dealt with a number of health issues and sexual abuse allegations against Tyler.

A mastermind who never ceases to channel his feelings with utmost perfection, the Spanish actor has bagged one too many critically commended roles in blockbuster masterpieces.

One of the more fascinating aspects of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is just how much of its recurring cast is playing themselves. Ted Danson plays Ted Danson, Cheryl Hines plays Cheryl Hines. Even when the actors are playing completely fictional characters, they still often keep the same name: Jeff Garlin plays Jeff Greene, for instance, just as Susie Essman plays Susie Greene. The result is a strange blend of fiction and reality. Logically, we know that Lin Manuel-Miranda is not actually a petty guy who gets in literal duels like his "Hamilton" main character, but a lot of the humor in his storyline is based in the idea that this is indeed what he's like in real life.
For Larry David, he's often remarked that this approach gives him a strange kind of freedom; he can do all the petty things he wants to do in real life, but now the...

Stephen King's 1977 short story "Children of the Corn" has been adapted to film an embarrassing number of times. The first adaptation was a 1983 short called "Disciples of the Crow," and it was off to the races. The first feature in the franchise, directed by Fritz Kiersch, hit in 1984 and starred Linda Hamilton and Peter Horton as an innocent city couple who make the mistake of driving through Gatlin, Nebraska, a town that's been taken over by its under-16 population. The kids, following the directions of an off-screen demonic entity they call He Who Walks Behind the Rows, have murdered all the adults and set up their own blood cult. The protagonists run afoul of the kiddie cult and barely escape with their lives intact.

“When you buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it. So, I think it ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project] once I’m in something,” Hamilton explained. “It would completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there. So, I won’t be watching [Season 5].”

Linda Hamilton is joining the final season of Stranger Things and recently teased participating in the Netflix series.
As a fan of the show, Hamilton said she felt out of place and joked about ruining the show for herself.
“I’ve watched every season with relish. I just love it,” she told Us Weekly. “So it’s kind of, like, imposter syndrome where I don’t [feel that I] fit in there. That’s a whole world set in the ’80s.”
She continued, “When you really buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it. So I think in a way, it kind of ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project], once I’m in something. It would just completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there. So I won’t be watching [Season 5].”

When it was announced that Linda Hamilton would be joining Stranger Things for its fifth and final season, it felt like a perfect addition to the cast, as she was a favorite presence in the 1980s, when the series is set. She, too, is a fan of the Netflix show…and that’s precisely why she won’t watch the season she’ll be featured in.
Speaking with Us Weekly, Linda Hamilton said that being cast in Stranger Things will interfere with her appreciation of the show, adding that she won’t be able to finish it like the rest of its fans. “When you really buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it. So I think in a way, it kind of ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project], once I’m in something…It would just completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there.

Last year, we heard that Gene Simmons of the rock band Kiss would be launching a new production company with Gary Hamilton (so the company is appropriately called Simmons/Hamilton Productions), and the first project they had given the greenlight was a shark thriller called Deep Water – with Deep Blue Sea director Renny Harlin attached to take the helm of the film! That film has since made its way through production, and a press release reveals that the cast includes Aaron Eckhart of Harlin’s The Bricklayer, Sir Ben Kingsley (Gandhi), Molly Wright (Netflix’s True Spirit), Angus Sampson (Mad Max: Fury Road), Kelly Gale (Plane), singer and actor Li Wenhan, who is a member of the Chinese-Korean K-Pop group Uniq, and Nashi (Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms).

You've got to feel a little sorry for Anthony Ramos, who had been presumably looking to ride his Hamilton time into a bigger film career, doing great work in In The Heights and paying his dues in Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts. But here comes the first Twisters trailer, dropped during the Super Bowl, and it's (primarily) all about Glen Powell. See the windy new promo here:
Described as "a current-day chapter" that follows the 1996 disaster movie (no word on whether any of the original cast will cameo or otherwise show up), Twisters follows Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate Cooper, who used to chase storms, but prefers to study their patterns from a screen in New York following a tragic twister encounter.
Yet – because watching her look at a computer wouldn't make for much of a movie — she's lured back to the open plains by pal Javi (Ramos), who has a...

As played by Zach Woods, who’s made a career specializing in awkward, alarmingly pasty nerds, NPR host Lauren Caspian is the type of tote-bag-carrying, kombucha-swigging, self-described sapiosexual that any other show might mock by having him drop a particularly overexposed Hamilton quote. On Peacock’s In the Know, though, a simple “Immigrants, we get the job done” doesn’t cut it.

Doctor Who is heading for a significant shakeup as Millie Gibson, who plays the Doctor’s newest companion, Ruby Sunday, prepares to exit the series after one season. The BBC introduced Gibson as Ruby Sunday in the latest Doctor Who Special “Doctor Who: The Church on Ruby Street,” alongside Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor. Replacing Gibson in Season 15 of the long-running series is Varara Sethu.
Gibson will return as Ruby Sunday for season 14 of the series, which is set to drop in May on the BBC in the U.K. and Disney+ internationally. Season 15 is currently shooting in Wales, where Gatwa and Sethu will likely learn how much running is involved in the Doctor Who filming process. No reason has been given as to why Gibson is exiting the show.
Russell T Davies returns to the series for seasons 14 and 15 to showrun, write, and executive produce the new episodes, with co-production handled by Bad Wolf.

This article contains Killers of the Flower Moon spoilers.
Silence greets Ernest Burkhart when he enters a meeting with the business leaders of Osage County, Oklahoma. This late into Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, Ernest (Leonardo DiCaprio) has proven to be easily pliable, to the point that his uncle William “King” Hale (Robert De Niro) can convince him to poison his beloved wife Mollie (Lily Gladstone). But he can be pushed only so far. If the leaders do not want Ernest to testify against his uncle, they must be subtle.
Thus the quiet when Ernest enters the room, which Scorsese and his cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto shoot like a baroque painting. The low mumble of their conversation fades as each withered white face turns from the shadows to face Ernest, who nods in a suggestion of understanding.

The Houston native will take over for Miguel Cervantes, whose final performance is January 7. Curtis becomes the sixth actor to take on the role since the musical’s 2015 debut.

The Lion King and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child both set records across the holiday week, with the highest weekly grosses for a musical and play on Broadway, respectively, in history.
In the week ended Dec. 31, the long-running hit The Lion King grossed $4.316 million across nine performances, besting its own record of $4.315 million last year. Serena Williams found herself in the midst of drama and controversy within the Formula One arena after her recent remark about Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion was responding to comments made by Mercedes boss Toto Wolff. Ahead of last weekend's Las Vegas Grand Prix, the Mercedes team principal spoke candidly to Pa news agency when evaluating Lewis Hamilton's chances of winning a record-breaking eighth championship.
Wolff asserted that he was fuelled by "personal anger" to help the British driver achieve this historic milestone that eluded him back in 2021 in quite dubious circumstances. Hamilton has won seven world championships on the race track (level with Michael Schumacher for the most titles).

This elegant exploration of journalism and vision slowly reveals New York and its cultural influence through the eyes of one of its most prolific photographers. As his black-and-white stills are reevaluated in a new historical context, James Hamilton's thoughts guide the viewer through five decades of political change. His aesthetic is distinct, captivating and still relevant, displaying an attitude that deeply cares about how his subjects look and feel in front of his camera.
Through a massive collage of images, director Dw Young digs into a collection which bore witness to different waves of counterculture, from hippies to punks and marginalized gangs. Hamilton's shots are formal but never boring. He stresses the importance of composition in his work. He doesn't judge and strives to take his pictures truthfully. The subject is front and centre, similar to how he stands as the main subject of the documentary. From this position,...

James Hamilton has lived an envious life. As staff photographer at Crawdaddy, The New York Herald, Harper’s Bazaar, The Village Voice, and The New York Observer, Hamilton chronicled the faces of New York culture, from Meryl Streep and Liza Minnelli to Jean-Luc Godard and Wes Anderson. One balmy night in 1980, I witnessed Hamilton shooting the iconic photo of Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken in John Carpenter’s “Escape from New York,” standing under the Statue of Liberty.
During the pandemic Hamilton began posting his gorgeous black-and-white photographs on his Facebook page on the celebrity’s birthday. He’s now in the habit. “Every day, it seems there’s someone I’ve photographed,” he said. And he owns his own photos. After he saw the art department at Harper’s Bazaar throwing out negatives, he possessively held his work close. He would happily stay up late at night inhaling photo-chemicals...

The writers’ strike ending weeks ago means projects are back in development. Variety has now confirmed, from a story that Puck reported, that a new biopic is in development at A24 that will depict the life of the controversial Tesla Motors CEO and owner of Twitter, now called X, Elon Musk. The project also already has a director attached, with The Whale‘s Darren Aronofsky on board to tell the story of the tech billionaire. The movie is set to use Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography as a source for the film’s script. There hasn’t yet been a writer announced to pen the screenplay.
There are sources that have told Variety that there was an intense bidding war for the option of adapting Isaacson’s book. The indie studio notorious for its projects that are less accessible to mass audiences, A24, is said to emerge as the victor.
