Exclusive: Buffalo 8 has acquired worldwide rights out of Cannes to The President and the Dragon, a Jimmy Carter documentary from Sudanese writer, director and producer Waleed Eltayeb and Irish director-cinematographer Ian D. Murphy.
The film watches as the former U.S. President, a motley crew of public health veterans, ex-child soldiers, and local volunteers traverse political minefields, treacherous terrain, and bloody civil war to chase after an ancient parasite, uniting with the goal of eradicating Guinea worm disease. Produced by Touchline’s Shaun McGuckian and Eltayeb, and co-produced by Brave Road’s Andrew Bishop (ESPN’s 26.2 To Life) and Tim Byron Owen (The Matchstick Man), the film is a testament and dedication to all the Guinea worm warriors and those working on the frontlines to end the suffering caused by the horrific, water-borne disease.

Even by his extreme rhetorical standard, Donald Trump has ramped up his criticism of his opponent, Joe Biden in recent weeks. Trump recently declared that Jimmy Carter’s presidency was “brilliant” in comparison to Biden‘s, calling him, for good measure, the “worst president” in American history.
While speaking to reporters outside a bodega in Harlem, New York, where a clerk stabbed an ex-convict in self-defense in 2022, Trump shared these remarks.
“Biden is the worst president in the history of our country,” Trump said. He went on to say that Biden is “worse than Jimmy Carter by a long shot.”
Trump suggested that Carter would perceive his presidency positively when considering the current president’s performance.
Days before Trump paid tribute to Carter’s late wife, Rosalynn Carter, he made similar remarks about Biden and Carter during a rally in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on November 18, 2023.
“[Biden is] incompetent,” he said at the time.

Log Cabin Republicans is “the nation’s original and largest organization representing LGBT conservatives and straight allies who support fairness, freedom, and equality for all Americans.”
This will be the former First Lady’s first major political event during her husband’s presidential campaign, Donald Trump. Melania has been absent from Trump’s campaign events, raising questions about the state of their marriage.
Since her mother’s passing in January, Melania has made two public appearances, first at a gala with Trump and then on Easter with their son, Barron Trump. When questioned about her return to Trump’s campaign trail, Melania told a reporter, “Stay tuned.”

Melania Trump‘s stylist, Herve Pierre Braillard, earned over $371,000 from Donald Trump‘s Super PACs.

Donald Trump took a moment to acknowledge the absence of his wife, Melania, from recent family gatherings when he addressed the crowd at his New Year’s Eve event held at Mar-a-Lago. He informed attendees that Melania’s mother is currently battling severe illness and Melania needs to be beside her.
The former first lady was indeed absent from the festivities. Video footage captured Trump’s remarks, in which he praised Melania as a beloved first lady and explained her absence, “She’s now in a hospital with her mother. Her mother, Amalija, is very ill, but hopefully, she’ll be recovering.”
Trump expressed the difficulty of the situation, “But she’s been very ill, so I just want to say ‘hello’ to the First Lady—we just spoke, down in Miami, great hospital—and hopefully they’ll be ok, but it’s a tough one, it’s a very tough one.

6’7” Barron Trump Stars In Trump Family Christmas Photo, While Mom Melania Mysteriously Goes Missing
A Trump family Christmas photo posted to social media had a glaring omission – Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, was noticeably not present.
In a photo posted to Instagram stories by Kimberly Guilfoyle, the fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., on her Instagram stories, a photo posted showed that Melania was nowhere to be found.
A spokesperson for Trump said that Melania was attending to a family matter. She was seeing her sickly mother, Amalija Knauss, who is currently in the hospital.
Her son, Barron Trump, however, towered over the rest of the family at 6’7”, stealing the show.
Melania is reportedly to step up her public appearances in support of Trump during his 2024 reelection bid. She has also made several public appearances in recent months, such as appearing at Rosalynn Carter’s funeral and a citizen’s naturalization ceremony.

Following Donald Trump‘s recent triumph in delaying his federal election subversion case, the Trump campaign is expecting to use his wife, Melania Trump, to make top-tier diplomatic engagements in 2024.
Melania’s recent participation in events such as Rosalynn Carter’s funeral has bolstered her self-assurance.
She is increasingly confident in her role as both her husband’s representative and as a significant diplomatic figure.
Despite controversy over her clothing choice for the event, Melania received a positive reception for her appearance at the funeral.
Additionally, her appearance at a naturalization ceremony at the National Archives further affirmed her desire to join the ranks of esteemed first ladies throughout history. Melania reportedly feels better prepared now for her potential role in her husband’s second presidential term.
Melania’s suspicious absence from her husband’s campaign trail has remained a topic of interest among the public in the last few months.

On Friday, former President Donald Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, delivered a speech at a naturalization ceremony held at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.
This public appearance was rare for Melania, who has been notably absent from her husband’s campaign trail.
The Archives claim that Melania received a personal invitation from the Archivist of the United States, Colleen Shogan, based on their prior relationship through the White House Historical Association.
Melania’s presence is intended to commemorate her role as a former First Lady and a naturalized American citizen, rather than as a political figure.
Melania became a U.S. citizen in 2006 after she immigrated from Slovenia. She is only the second foreign-born first lady in American history.
The event’s optics are advantageous for Trump’s presidential campaign, particularly as a counter to the accusations of anti-immigrant sentiment.

More than any other figure in broadcast journalism, the legendary Barbara Walters made sure her interviews qualified as TV events.
Walters, who died Dec. 30 at the age of 93, reigned as the master of the big-get sit-down with newsmakers of the moment, and in doing so she helped television news ascend to new heights of prominence and influence. Among her many skills was her dexterity in drawing insights from aging Golden Age stars such as Fred Astaire, John Wayne and Katharine Hepburn to world leaders in crisis, from Muammar Gaddafi to Anwar Sadat to Fidel Castro to Vladimir Putin.
From the mid-1970s through the early 2010s, Walters was the undisputed pace-setter in landing coveted interviews with boldface names. And by the accounts of her top competitors over the years, Walters was a fierce contender for big gets until the day she retired from ABC News in 2014. “Clowns can get away with murder,” John Wayne Gacy told retired Des Plaines police officer David Hachmeister during a 10-day surveillance operation. Salinger!) played the part in the terrible 1990 movie and there’s also a 1944 serial based on the character.
But now we know that an unlikely person once stepped into the costume as well: Star Trek: The Next Generation‘s Commander Riker, Jonathan Frakes. The actor, who has since gone on to direct multiple episodes of Star Trek and the movies First Contact and Insurrection, recently returned to the role of Will Riker in Star Trek: Picard and directed two outings of the show as well.
So, how did he end up as Captain America?...

Capitol Hill media figures took a break from ongoing impeachment coverage on Thursday evening to honor NBC News Correspondent Kelly O’Donnell with a career achievement award.
O’Donnell is the first woman to receive the Radio & Television Correspondents Association’s Career Achievement Award for Distinguished Reporting on Congress. A 25-year veteran of the network, O’Donnell quipped, “Could I ask this of the Rtca board. Could we call this the ‘Mid-Career Achievement Award’?”
Also honored at the event were Mary Bruce, ABC News’ senior congressional correspondent, who won the Joan S. Barone Award for political reporting in the past year. She covered the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. The BBC’s Clive Myrie won the David Bloom Award for his reporting on the source of the opioid crisis. CNN’s Kim Uhl received the Jerry Thompson Memorial Award, recognizing career achievement in photojournalism.
