Sorry Lena Dunham – false alarm!
Dunham revealed to her Twitter followers on Thursday that she mistakenly thought her longtime boyfriend Jack Antonoff was about to pop the question. The Bleachers frontman was talking to his sister, when Dunham overheard their conversation. Her imagination took over from there.
“I heard him say ‘Lena’ and ‘finger’ so obviously it seemed like an engagement ring talk,” she shared.

It turns out that her boyfriend was actually “talking s***” about her instead. Oops!
The Girls star went on to say that when the time comes, however, she wants a ring that rivals the incredible sparkler rapper Cardi B just received from Migos’ Offset.

American Horror Story‘s titular Cult is down a member after Tuesday’s episode, though a surprising(ish) addition has emerged to take their place.

The roster-changing episode begins with Bob and Beverly — whose names, in any other context, would sound like the title of an old-school sitcom — arguing over her sensationalized reporting of the serial killings. Am I grading too easily? Getting ready to recap Night 2 of The Voice’s Season 13 Blind Auditions, I realized that, during Night 1, I had given out a whopping five A-minuses, which seems kinda ridiculous in retrospect. I mean, was Esera Tuaolo, for instance, really that good? Or was there just technically nothing wrong with his performance, so I couldn’t find anything to dock him for? If I don’t immediately want to throw a shoe at a singer — or at least download their cover song — were they truly A-worthy? Though Dave Crosby might disagree, I think I’m going...

Darren Aronofsky is back. The polarizing Oscar nominee is causing a quite a stir with his latest movie, the Jennifer Lawrence-starring “mother!,” but anyone familiar with Aronofsky’s six previous features knows he’s always been a filmmaker who forces a strong reaction out of people. He’s been pushing the boundaries of his own filmmaking voice ever since “Pi” caused a frenzy at the Sundance Film Festival in 1998, and “mother!” proves he has no signs of stopping.

“The Meyerowitz Stories” has been singled out in the Cannes Film Festival lineup ever since the first announcement that it would compete for the Palme d’Or. Cannes also underscored that another Netflix title, Bong Joon-ho’s “Okja,” was not being dropped from the lineup either.

"The path to paradise begins in hell" in the new trailer for Alien: Covenant.
While the previous trailer hinted at creature-centric horrors, the new trailer for Alien: Covenant gives ample screen time to one very angry Alien, an egg that is ready to bring a new Facehugger into the world, and Danny McBride's character reacting as many of us probably would if an Alien were bashing its head against our windshield.

At 26, Kristen Stewart is already a veteran of the industry. She’s been acting since the tender age of eight, spotted by an agent while performing in her elementary school’s holiday play, and since then has juggled massive franchises and prestige work alike. After all that, she still resists talking about her performances in the bland industry lingo that so many performers adopt with their rising profiles.
For example, don’t ask her what it’s like to play her roles. Or, rather, don’t use the word “play.”
“‘Play’ sounds like ‘lie’ to me, and I’m just trying to do the opposite,” Stewart recently told IndieWire. She’d already slipped up once during the conversation, when referring to her Cesar Award-winning role in Olivier Assayas’ “Clouds of Sils Maria.”
So what do you call whatever it is the ubiquitous star does whenever she surfaces in another movie?...
