Third watched of the bunch;an interesting tale about teenage love/pregnancy, brilliantly directed and written and an outstanding performance by the actors. It feels like a quirky, modern tragicomedy, yet a truly acceptable film. A decent watch overall. 7.5/10.

Votes: 1,800,716 | Gross: $100.13M

Fourth watched of the bunch.

A unique cop partner movie, with arguably one of the best twist endings in history. What could've been a preachy film about sin, ends up being one hell of a watch with mild philosophical undertones lying in it. Great acting, decent directing and brilliant writing.

A pleasant watch, all in all. 7.5/10

5. Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)

Director: Sergio Leone | Stars: Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson, Claudia Cardinale, Jason Robards

Votes: 349,291 | Gross: $5.32M

The fifth and the last one of 2014

A slow, very 60's piece of cinema. It was a very decent film with an equally decent plotline and filled with copious amounts of closeups and scenes with zero to little dialogue in them, the 175 mins of runtime are worth it after all. An adequate watch conclusively. 7.5/10.

R | 110 min | Comedy, Drama

76 Metascore

The eccentric members of a dysfunctional family reluctantly gather under the same roof for various reasons.

Votes: 313,369 | Gross: $52.36M

The sixth film watched on the list.

A poignant, evocative movie that relies heavily on human emotion and some great character development, plus some unusual yet pleasant structuring of the film. I just fell in love with Wes Anderson's style of direction and how well the characters interacted on screen. 8.2/10

7. The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)

Votes: 887,521 | Gross: $59.10M

The seventh.

An impeccably layered, irreproachably structured, rather fine work of art. I just cannot seem to stop loving Wes Anderson's style this was my second Wes Anderson film viewed in a row and I enjoyed it even more than The Royal Tenenbaums. I was remarkably captivated by this movie.

8.6/10

8. The Painting (2011)

Director: Jean-François Laguionie | Stars: Jean Barney, Chloé Berthier, JB Blanc, Steve Blum

Votes: 4,527 | Gross: $0.01M

Eighth..

Beautifully animated, straightforward storytelling and very interesting plot. A gem for all ages, and an amazingly animated movie; the movie also seems to be some sort of allegory for racism, social class difference and many other of life's aspects. "The Painting" does a great job harmlessly portraying every single one of the aforementioned issues and delivers an entertaining watch.

7.8/10

9. The Descendants (2011)

84 Metascore

A land baron tries to reconnect with his two daughters after his wife is seriously injured in a boating accident.

Director: Alexander Payne | Stars: George Clooney, Shailene Woodley, Amara Miller, Nick Krause

Votes: 251,910 | Gross: $82.58M

8.5/10; Ninth movie I watched on the list.

Bafflingly sold short by the critics. This a truly evocative, highly emotional film. I hadn't screamed at a screen and felt like the characters from a film in a long time before watching this. I think it might become one of my favorite movies after a few more viewings. Absolutely loved it.

10. We Are the Best! (2013)

Votes: 11,329 | Gross: $0.18M

The 10th

Not at all what I expected, but a fairly good movie nonetheless. With a few uneventful lowpoints that result in a moderately watchable product. The moral about being different and owning it is rather badly delivered, but a fun watch all in all. 6.7/10

An exceptionally touching feature, it excels due to its various lifelike components and the amazing character arcs it contains. A jewel in th world of film, a truly wonderful work of art. 9/10

13. The Princess Bride (1987)

PG | 98 min | Adventure, Comedy, Family

78 Metascore

A bedridden boy's grandfather reads him the story of a farmboy-turned-pirate who encounters numerous obstacles, enemies and allies in his quest to be reunited with his true love.

Director: Rob Reiner | Stars: Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Robin Wright, Chris Sarandon

Votes: 451,212 | Gross: $30.86M

A film that excels at capturing the essence of the tale it narrates, it is the kind of movie that has a similar feeling to another analog format of storytelling- medieval tales/children's tales and the sort in this case. Even with a few very silly scenes, these particular scenes do not feel out-of-place at all. The film's unusual pacing might not be everybody's cup of tea; but, I personally enjoyed it. The movie was a surprisingly entertaining watch. 7.8/10

14. Punch-Drunk Love (2002)

R | 95 min | Comedy, Drama, Romance

Director: Paul Thomas Anderson | Stars: Adam Sandler, Emily Watson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jason Andrews

Votes: 177,634 | Gross: $17.84M

The movie begins building tension right from the start, and all throuhgout the film the tense moments become more anxiety-ridden witht help of repetitive music or lack thereof. This use of sound in the movie makes some scenes convey their intended stressfullnes in a well-delivered fashion. This movie is also the heir of one of the most awkward staredown scenes in movie history. A good movie overall. 7.5/10

Watched. Lived up to expectations and even more. Brilliant perfomances from the three protagonists, epic staredown at the end, only reason the rating isn’t higher is ofc due to some very era-specific issues that don’t live up to well today. Regardless of this it is still a excellent film. 8.5/10
