These are all my children (some I love more than others).

Don't really know why IMDB doesn't ignore the "A" "An" and "The" words in the titles but whatever. Was gonna say that, if you're gonna look at it, I'd suggest the AZ alphabetical order option just because. I don't think I can make the list appear that way for everyone. I don't know. I'm bad at technology and stuff.

My dream is to be on "Hoarders" one day - but hoarding movies and stuff not, like, trash and fecal matter.

Also, not to sound too grandiose or anything here, but I love physical media and the idea of people being so reliant on intangible concepts and digital collections and whatnot is scary as hell to me. I prefer having a tangible copy to prove that it exists and that it's mine in the world.

May comment on certain ones but, either way, who cares

Semi-Disclaimer: In my defense on owning some/most of these crappy, low-budget b/z grade horror movies I didn't anticipate on acquiring them. My father is one of those people who goes to a bargain bin and picks out those $5 horror sets - despite my warnings that, often times, they're in a bargain bin with 14 other films for a reason. When Blockbuster and Movie Gallery went out of business, it was just this overflow of crappy horror movies ("Stupid Teenagers Must Die" anyone?). He moved and left me with all these type of movies. I've yet to weed them out and I don't really know what to do with them because I don't wanna be one of those people who pawns them off at a Buy-Sell-Trade place.

1. Manderlay (2005)

Not Rated | 139 min | Drama

46 Metascore

A story of slavery, set in the southern U.S. in the 1930s.

Director: Lars von Trier | Stars: Bryce Dallas Howard, Isaach De Bankolé, Danny Glover, Willem Dafoe

Votes: 25,190 | Gross: $0.08M

Really wish Lars von Trier would have gotten around to finishing this trilogy for it looks doubtful he ever will. While not as amazing as Dogville, I still feel like the story (as a whole) is amazing.

2. Nights and Weekends (2008)

Unrated | 80 min | Drama, Romance

59 Metascore

A man and woman must face the tension that builds between them during a long-distance relationship.

Directors: Greta Gerwig, Joe Swanberg | Stars: Greta Gerwig, Joe Swanberg, Jay Duplass, Elizabeth Donius

Votes: 1,805 | Gross: $0.00M

Only seen a few Joe Swanberg films but, of the ones I've seen, I've enjoyed this the most. I think I might have a soft spot for the "mumblecore" film movement of the mid 2000's because I really enjoyed "Baghead" and "The Puffy Chair" by the Duplass Brothers too and, I don't know, I like the grainy look and these short, simple glimpses into people's lives.

3. Cujo (1983)

R | 93 min | Horror, Thriller

57 Metascore

Cujo, a friendly St. Bernard, contracts rabies and conducts a reign of terror on a small American town.

Director: Lewis Teague | Stars: Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh Kelly, Danny Pintauro, Christopher Stone

Votes: 51,025 | Gross: $21.20M

I wish this was a better movie. It's one of those movies where I'm so bored for the first hour and I'm just waiting for them to be trapped in the car because, those scenes, are some of the most intense but everything else is boring and lame.

4. The Blair Witch Project (1999)

R | 81 min | Horror, Mystery

80 Metascore

Three film students vanish after traveling into a Maryland forest to film a documentary on the local Blair Witch legend, leaving only their footage behind.

Directors: Daniel Myrick, Eduardo Sánchez | Stars: Heather Donahue, Michael C. Williams, Joshua Leonard, Bob Griffin

Votes: 285,853 | Gross: $140.54M

I love The Blair Witch Project. Always have. Always will. I can kinda sorta not really see why people don't like it, but I love it. It's creepy to me because the fear of being lost is one that I have and struggle with every time I walk into a Wal-Mart so, I like to believe, I can really relate to the character's plight.

I'd own Blair Witch 2 just because, but I didn't like it at all. Guess the same applies to "Blair Witch."

5. Reservoir Dogs (1992)

R | 99 min | Crime, Thriller

81 Metascore

When a simple jewelry heist goes horribly wrong, the surviving criminals begin to suspect that one of them is a police informant.

Director: Quentin Tarantino | Stars: Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Chris Penn

Votes: 1,088,981 | Gross: $2.83M

Own all Tarantino's except Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood - hopefully can own soon.

This was one of my top 10 favorite movies circa a budding testosterone infused 7th grade time period. I'd probably be a Mr. Brown, though I'd love to be a Mr. Blonde

6. Chuck & Buck (2000)

R | 96 min | Comedy, Drama

76 Metascore

An oddly naive man-child stalks his childhood best friend and tries to reconnect with their past.

Director: Miguel Arteta | Stars: Mike White, Chris Weitz, Lupe Ontiveros, Beth Colt

Votes: 5,890 | Gross: $1.05M

Love dark comedies and Mike White (lead actor/ screenwriter) is amazing at it. He's also the voice of God. Seriously, his HBO short-lived series Enlightened will change your life. Glad he's gotten a moment in the sun recently with The White Lotus

7. Cecil B. Demented (2000)

R | 87 min | Comedy, Crime, Thriller

57 Metascore

An insane independent film director and his renegade group of teenage filmmakers kidnap an A-list Hollywood actress and force her to star in their underground film.

Director: John Waters | Stars: Melanie Griffith, Stephen Dorff, Alicia Witt, Adrian Grenier

Votes: 16,658 | Gross: $1.28M

Kinda underrated - one of John Waters' better films IMO.

I can't tell you how hard I laughed at Alicia Witt's character telling how her entire family raped her under the Christmas tree. "Grandma yelled 'Yeah! f_ck her!"

8. Breaking the Waves (1996)

82 Metascore

Oilman Jan is paralyzed in an accident. His wife, who prayed for his return, feels guilty; even more, when Jan urges her to have sex with another.

Director: Lars von Trier | Stars: Emily Watson, Stellan Skarsgård, Katrin Cartlidge, Jean-Marc Barr

Votes: 71,606 | Gross: $4.04M

Paid a pretty penny for the Out of Print Artisan release some time ago but, nevertheless, I welcomed the beautiful (much needed) Criterion release. Hope to see The Idiots and Dancer in the Dark come soon.

Great Movie. Have no desire to ever watch it again.

10. Dummy (2002)

Director: Greg Pritikin | Stars: Adrien Brody, Milla Jovovich, Illeana Douglas, Vera Farmiga

Votes: 6,933 | Gross: $0.07M

Remember this movie being very funny. Been a good while since I've seen it. I'm not a big Milla Jovovich fan, but she is hilarious in this film.

11. Maid to Order (1987)

A spoiled rich girl is visited by her fairy godmother and turned into a maid.

Director: Amy Holden Jones | Stars: Ally Sheedy, Beverly D'Angelo, Michael Ontkean, Valerie Perrine

Votes: 3,645 | Gross: $9.87M

Bought this at Movie Stop for a whopping $3 - mostly because I knew it was Out of Print and sold for more than $3 on Amazon

12. Pi (1998)

72 Metascore

A paranoid mathematician searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature.

Director: Darren Aronofsky | Stars: Sean Gullette, Mark Margolis, Ben Shenkman, Pamela Hart

Votes: 186,517 | Gross: $3.22M

Need to buy The Fountain and Noah. I don't remember if I included The Wrestler in this list. I don't think I did. I kinda sorta don't really own it, though. I need it. I haven't seen Noah and mother! was amazing, I thought.

13. The Cabin in the Woods (2011)

R | 95 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

72 Metascore

Five college friends head out to a remote cabin for a getaway, but things don't go as planned when they start getting killed. They soon discover that there is more to the cabin than it seems.

Director: Drew Goddard | Stars: Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz

Votes: 451,073 | Gross: $42.07M

Pretty decent horror film but Scream will always be the reigning self-aware and genre deconstructing horror film. Plus, in some ways this is a little too Buffy Season 4 and 7 microwaved over.

14. Basic Instinct (1992)

R | 127 min | Drama, Mystery, Thriller

43 Metascore

A violent police detective investigates a brutal murder that might involve a manipulative and seductive novelist.

Director: Paul Verhoeven | Stars: Michael Douglas, Sharon Stone, George Dzundza, Jeanne Tripplehorn

Votes: 219,342 | Gross: $117.73M

Director: Francis Ford Coppola | Stars: Martin Sheen, Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Frederic Forrest

Votes: 710,851 | Gross: $83.47M

I think I saw the Redux version. Either way, a little too long for my liking. Martin Sheen isn't my favorite either

Votes: 21,646 | Gross: $18.81M

"Ain't you got no job?"

Love this movie; always puts me in a good mood. When I bought this movie at Wal-Mart, the cashier lady was like, "Oh, this is one everyone should have in their collection!"

17. Lake Dead (2007)

R | 90 min | Horror, Thriller

Director: George Bessudo | Stars: Tara Gerard, Vanessa Viola, Kelsey Wedeen, Alex A. Quinn

Votes: 3,833

I remember nothing about this film other than there being, like, this crazy grandma or something. Got this when I was going through a horror DVD label period (i.e. Afterdark Horrorfest, Ghosthouse Underground, Dimension Extreme, etc.)

18. Frontier(s) (2007)

Director: Louie Psihoyos | Stars: Richard O'Barry, Louie Psihoyos, Hardy Jones, Michael Illiff

Votes: 51,461 | Gross: $0.87M

Good documentary. Never wanna see it again. Dolphins are cool though

20. Disaster Movie (2008)

PG-13 | 87 min | Comedy, Sci-Fi

15 Metascore

Over the course of one evening, an unsuspecting group of twenty-somethings find themselves bombarded by a series of natural disasters and catastrophic events.

Directors: Jason Friedberg, Aaron Seltzer | Stars: Carmen Electra, Vanessa Lachey, Nicole Parker, Matt Lanter

Votes: 94,574 | Gross: $14.19M

Yeah, it's a bad movie but I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh at some parts - namely the Juno spoof which was kinda spot-on, same with the Enchanted spoof. That's it though. And even then they kinda overstay what little welcome they maybe had or didn't have to begin with. Like, it's bad - make no mistake - but, I don't know, sometimes you just kinda crave something stupid you feel superior over and this is that

21. The Doom Generation (1995)

R | 83 min | Comedy, Crime, Drama

48 Metascore

Director: Gregg Araki | Stars: James Duval, Rose McGowan, Johnathon Schaech, Cress Williams

Votes: 17,896 | Gross: $0.26M

Bought this one mostly because it goes well with my 90s indie scene films and, also, because I had just watched Araki's Mysterious Skin and Smiley Face. Also because Rose McGowan.

An Italian gorefest about a young couple being held captive by a sadistic backwoods family.

Director: Gabriele Albanesi | Stars: Daniela Virgilio, Geno Diana, Santa De Santis, Daniele Grassetti

Votes: 1,160

I actually remember somewhat enjoying this film but, having gone back and seen clips of it recently, I probably wouldn't have that same reaction. I just remember it being kinda disturbing, which was cool.

Votes: 3,425

Haven't seen this in a while, but it's time I rewatch it because I remember it being fun and pulled off really well. Like it kinda sorta being a kid's horror movie but not kid-friendly.

25. Hard Candy (2005)

R | 104 min | Drama, Thriller

58 Metascore

Director: David Slade | Stars: Patrick Wilson, Elliot Page, Sandra Oh, Odessa Rae

Votes: 168,159 | Gross: $1.01M

One of My All Time Favorite Movies. By far, Page's best performance and definitely one of the best performances of that decade IMO

26. Precious (II) (2009)

R | 110 min | Drama

78 Metascore

In New York City's Harlem circa 1987, an overweight, abused, illiterate teen who is pregnant with her second child is invited to enroll in an alternative school in hopes that she can re-route her life in a better direction.

Director: Lee Daniels | Stars: Gabourey Sidibe, Mo'Nique, Paula Patton, Mariah Carey

Votes: 116,288 | Gross: $47.57M

I think movies about child abuse are fascinating. They just kind of are. Kinda like in that car crash fascinating way. Maybe a bit melodramatic in retrospect too but still a good movie. Will never forget being so thrilled when Monique swept that awards season

27. Slaughter High (1986)

R | 90 min | Horror, Thriller

Eight people are invited to their alma mater for their 10-year reunion, where a fellow former student, disfigured from a prank gone wrong, is out to seek revenge.

Votes: 7,011

What school has a bathtub in it?

Would like to have an original Vestron Video copy

Used to kinda dismiss this one and, sure, it's far from being one of the most enjoyable 80's slasher movies (ending goes on for too long) but I've come around to it more.

28. Spring Breakers (2012)

R | 94 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

63 Metascore

Four college girls hold up a restaurant in order to fund their spring break vacation. While partying, drinking, and taking drugs, they are arrested, only to be bailed out by a drug and arms dealer.

Director: Harmony Korine | Stars: Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine

Votes: 148,845 | Gross: $14.12M

Personally, I really enjoyed this film and, not to sound too pretentious, but it's sorta a masterpiece and a brilliant satire about this current YOLO generation.

Need: "Trash Humpers," "Mister Lonely," and "The Beach Bum." Even if I don't always love Korine's film, I respect him as a filmmaker and truly doing something different.

29. W. (I) (2008)

PG-13 | 129 min | Biography, Comedy, Drama

56 Metascore

A chronicle of the life and Presidency of George W. Bush.

Director: Oliver Stone | Stars: Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Banks, Ioan Gruffudd, Colin Hanks

Votes: 50,051 | Gross: $25.53M

Don't remember much about this film but, then again, Oliver Stone doesn't really do it much for me, anyhow.

30. Black Dahlia (2006 Video)

Not Rated | 81 min | Crime, Horror

Three psychopaths go on a killing spree, recreating the Black Dahlia murder.

Director: Ulli Lommel | Stars: Elissa Dowling, Sutton Christopher, Christian Behm, Jack Quinn

Votes: 1,023

I wasn't a dumbass who thought this was the real Brian DePalma movie. Believe me, I knew this was a direct-to-video Ulli Lommel POS movie. I suppose that makes it worse that I actually paid money to own this, right? I guess you'd be right but, then again, it came in a pack with 2 other films in his illustrious filmography. Me and my friends love to laugh at these movies (particularly this one and Green River Killer) so, if ever in need of a good laugh, I have them on hand.

31. Green River Killer (2005 Video)

R | 83 min | Crime, Horror

Along twenty years, the deranged serial-killer Gary Ridgway has killed at least forty-eight prostitutes and dumped their bodies in Green River.

Director: Ulli Lommel | Stars: George Kiseleff, Jacquelyn Aurora, Georgie Donovan, Shannon Leade

Votes: 1,007

One of my best friends cites this as his least favorite film of all time and, for that reason, we love laughing at it. Best Quotes: "I have to take a sh!t first...Is that okay? ... Wanna wipe my ass? You can if you like..." (Such Poetry)

32. Zodiac (2007)

R | 157 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery

79 Metascore

Between 1968 and 1983, a San Francisco cartoonist becomes an amateur detective obsessed with tracking down the Zodiac Killer, an unidentified individual who terrorizes Northern California with a killing spree.

Director: David Fincher | Stars: Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Edwards

Votes: 598,893 | Gross: $33.08M

Good, but not great, movie. Se7en will always be Fincher's best but, then again, I'm not one to really worship and overrate all things Nolan/Fincher.

33. Ulli Lommel's Zodiac Killer (2005 Video)

R | 83 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

A young man who works at a nursing home uses the legendary Zodiac killer's M.O. to kill people who neglect their elderly relatives.

Director: Ulli Lommel | Stars: Rudolf Waldemar Brem, Katja Rupé, Kornelia Boje, Isabella Jantz

Votes: 4,748

In some ways, one of the least offensive entries in Lommel's filmography of schlock but, in some ways too, one of the worst because it tries to be a real movie and there's not much to laugh at

34. Saw (2004)

R | 103 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

46 Metascore

Two strangers awaken in a room with no recollection of how they got there, and soon discover they're pawns in a deadly game perpetrated by a notorious serial killer.

Director: James Wan | Stars: Cary Elwes, Leigh Whannell, Danny Glover, Ken Leung

Votes: 467,094 | Gross: $56.00M

Eh, my opinion on "Saw' and the series kind of depends on my mood that day. For the most part, I just take it at face value.

35. Saw II (2005)

R | 93 min | Horror, Mystery

40 Metascore

A detective and his team must rescue 8 people trapped in a factory by the twisted serial killer known as Jigsaw.

Director: Darren Lynn Bousman | Stars: Donnie Wahlberg, Beverley Mitchell, Franky G, Emmanuelle Vaugier

Votes: 276,612 | Gross: $87.04M

Mindless entertainment and, while not a good movie (per say), I'd be lying if I said I didn't cringe out of my skin at the needle pit scene and the razor blade box bit.

36. Saw III (2006)

R | 108 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

48 Metascore

Jigsaw abducts a doctor in order to keep himself alive while he watches his new apprentice put an unlucky citizen named Jeff through a brutal test.

Director: Darren Lynn Bousman | Stars: Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Angus Macfadyen, Bahar Soomekh

Votes: 212,552 | Gross: $80.24M

Don't remember anything about this one other than that cool brain surgery scene.

37. Saw IV (2007)

R | 93 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

36 Metascore

Despite Jigsaw's death, and in order to save the lives of two of his colleagues, Lieutenant Rigg is forced to take part in a new game, which promises to test him to the limit.

Director: Darren Lynn Bousman | Stars: Tobin Bell, Scott Patterson, Louis Ferreira, Costas Mandylor

Votes: 164,928 | Gross: $63.30M

"It's just body parts ripping and blood spewing - blag!"

Scream 4 quote...

Would cite this as being my least favorite in the series.

38. Saw V (2008)

R | 92 min | Horror, Thriller

20 Metascore

Following Jigsaw's grisly demise, Mark Hoffman is commended as a hero, but Agent Strahm is suspicious, and delves into Hoffman's past. Meanwhile, another group of people are put through a series of gruesome tests.

Director: David Hackl | Stars: Scott Patterson, Costas Mandylor, Tobin Bell, Betsy Russell

Votes: 137,722 | Gross: $56.75M

This was actually kinda my favorite of the sequels because, let's be honest, people just wanna see characters put in the traps and try and get through them - does anyone really care about the Jigsaw legacy/ storyline? I don't.

39. American Psycho (2000)

R | 102 min | Crime, Drama, Horror

64 Metascore

A wealthy New York City investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman, hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies.

Director: Mary Harron | Stars: Christian Bale, Justin Theroux, Josh Lucas, Bill Sage

Votes: 716,537 | Gross: $15.07M

I actually really wanna buy the awful direct-to-video sequel with Mila Kunis...mostly because it's so bad that it's kinda good.

I initially didn't care for this film but, having re-watched it in the past 2 or 3 years, I really understood and appreciated it more. Who doesn't want to be like Patrick Bateman?

40. Chopping Mall (1986)

R | 77 min | Horror, Sci-Fi

22 Metascore

Votes: 17,260

One of my favorite 80s slasher movies

66 Metascore

Los Angeles citizens with vastly separate lives collide in interweaving stories of race, loss and redemption.

Director: Paul Haggis | Stars: Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Thandiwe Newton, Karina Arroyave

Votes: 449,133 | Gross: $54.58M

I'm not entirely on the "Crash-Bash-Hate Train" per say, but I agree that it shouldn't have won Best Picture for its respective year. Would be curious to rewatch now many years later

42. Dogville (2003)

R | 178 min | Crime, Drama

61 Metascore

A woman on the run from the mob is reluctantly accepted in a small Colorado community in exchange for labor, but when a search visits the town she finds out that their support has a price.

Director: Lars von Trier | Stars: Nicole Kidman, Paul Bettany, Lauren Bacall, Harriet Andersson

Votes: 158,757 | Gross: $1.53M

One of my All Time Favorite Films. An Utter Masterpiece. Needs a better edition

43. High Tension (2003)

Best friends Marie and Alexia decide to spend a quiet weekend at Alexia's parents' secluded farmhouse. But on the night of their arrival, the girls' idyllic getaway turns into an endless night of horror.

Director: Alexandre Aja | Stars: Cécile de France, Maïwenn, Philippe Nahon, Franck Khalfoun

Votes: 77,917 | Gross: $3.68M

Questionable ending that, yeah, is kind of a cheat, but, overall, mindless bloody entertainment otherwise that I just take at face value

44. Open Water (2003)

R | 79 min | Adventure, Drama, Horror

63 Metascore

Based on the true story of two scuba divers accidentally stranded in shark infested waters after their tour boat has left.

Director: Chris Kentis | Stars: Blanchard Ryan, Daniel Travis, Saul Stein, Michael E. Williamson

Votes: 56,477 | Gross: $30.61M

Reason #4,849,323 not to go scuba diving in the middle of the ocean. I LOVE the subtly here. The prolonged dread. Truly unnerving film.

45. Deadly Visions (2004 TV Movie)

Director: Michael M. Scott | Stars: Nicollette Sheridan, Gordon Currie, Sarah Deakins, Philip Granger

Votes: 300

Aka "Possessed" I bought this at a Hollywood Video and was going through a Desperate Housewives binge watching period (and when Hollywood Video was still a thing) so, when I saw that Nicolette Sheridan was in this, I figured "why not?" Don't remember much about the movie. Think it was a Lifetime movie?

46. The Tommyknockers (1993)

Bought cheap. Have yet to see.

Director: David Steiman | Stars: Bill Goldberg, Douglas Smith, Emilie de Ravin, Robert Culp

Votes: 11,229

Opening is great - the rest? Eh. It is what it is and it makes no apologies, and I appreciate that but it doesn't always make for the most enriching viewing experience. After a while, the joke gets old, and I think the film realizes it too hence the insanely rushed ending.

48. Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (2004)

Director: Vincenzo Natali | Stars: Nicole de Boer, Maurice Dean Wint, David Hewlett, Andrew Miller

Votes: 247,783 | Gross: $0.50M

This is one of those movies where it's too good to hate. Like, the acting is bad, there are plot holes, bad CGI, etc., but when it's good, it's great and it does make up for the weaker elements.

Need to buy Cube 2 (though kinda lame) and the 3rd one (though forgettable)

Votes: 74,467 | Gross: $2.81M

My 2nd Favorite Film of All Time (or at least, in My Top 5)

Wish this would get a decent edition - an utter masterpiece of a film. This film was a godsend to me. I've always had a morbid and dark sense of humor but, oh man, this film and Solondz is just pitch black...exactly how I like it.

I love it too because it provoked so many reactions from me. On one hand, these were all unsympathetic and terrible people, but I loved them for it and, also, felt bad that their depravity, which they believed to be a solace for happiness, was actually hurting them.

"Until the day you die, you, not me, will always be sh!t!" "...somehow you just seemed so doomed for failure. But now I see that's not true! There's a glimmer of hope for you after all!" "If only I had been raped as a child, then I would KNOW authenticity!" "I came."

Votes: 2,602 | Gross: $0.29M

Not my favorite Baumbach film. Just feels very much like a script that read better on paper. Controversially, I liked the film he made after this - "Highball" (a - more or less - improve film made from leftover footage from this film that Baumbach regrets).

Waiting for "Kicking & Screaming" to be released on BluRay. Need: "While We're Young," "Mistress America," "The Meyerwitz Stories," and "Marriage Story."

Need to get a better edition and, also, would LOVE to own Freeway II: Confessions of a Trick Baby, but the DVD is OOP and hella expensive. My dream is to stumble upon it at, like, a Movie Stop or Good Will for under $5. I have a burnt DVD of it but it's not that same.

Almost kinda reaches a point of being so-bad that it's good. I mean, it wasn't AS terrible as I thought it would be but, yeah, that whole random tornado scene didn't exactly help with the cause.

One of My All Time Favorite Movies

Also, anyone who says, "My favorite Christmas movie is 'Die Hard' but I know a lot of people say 'Die Hard' isn't a Christmas," means they actually know in recent years that people *do* consider "Die Hard" to now be one but you still want to seem cool and unorthodox.

For the record, I don't really consider it to be. I just don't know anyone who, on Christmas Eve would pick this movie over something like "A Christmas Story" or "Miracle on 34th Street" without doing so in a conscious effort to seem oh-so cool.

For a brief period when I was in high school, all the wannabe-moody and angsty "intellectual" people asked me to lend this movie out to them. Even still, it's a great movie. I love how they make it seem like the kid dancers are so talented and great but then, when on stage, they're really not that impressive but everyone things they are.

Need to upgrade this because my DVD is old and has been watched many times. I went as Edward Scissorhands for Halloween in 3rd grade, but this was before they made an official costume so I had to improvise. Wore all black, painted my face white, and taped scissors to a glove. I look pretty bad ass though.

I need a Blu-Ray of this and Cuaron's A Little Princess. That beautiful green imagery would look stunning. I actually think this movie is somewhat underrated. Admittedly, as Roger Ebert put it, this movie starts off as being great but ends up just being good. This is true because the film does begin to venture off into riding on a cliché structure. That said, it's still a beautiful film and I think it has the right feel to compensate for areas where it lacks. I really enjoyed this and, personally, I enjoyed it more than I did Cuaron's Y Tu Mama Tambien.
