Sometimes your entire world can change in a single moment. For a young Tia Carrere’s world became more excellent one trip a local grocery store where the parents of a man who was producing a movie saw her and told her about this movie their son was shooting. This would lead Tia Carrere to land a role in the film Aloha Summer. She says she was super nervous because she had never acted before and hadn’t even thought of it as an option in her life but she did it! Ms Carrere grew up wanting to be a singer…. and she did that too!
After rocking everyone’s world in the Wayne’s World cinematic universe film franchise, Tia Carrere became a household name in the early nineties while also standing toe to toe with some of the biggest names in the business. But after a few bad turns...

Born in 1953 in Athens, Georgia, Basinger got her start as a model before turning to acting, catching the attentions of movie audiences as a Bond girl in the Sean Connery-starring “Never Say Never Again” (1983). She earned her first Golden Globe nomination soon thereafter for a supporting performance as Robert Redford‘s love interest in “The Natural” (1984).
She courted controversy with her sexually explicit turn in Adrien Lyne‘s “9 1/2 Weeks” (1986) and became a box office draw with Tim Burton‘s superhero smash “Batman” (1989). She even proved she could poke fun at herself with a cameo appearance in “Wayne’s World 2” (1992) as the aptly-named Honey Horneé.

Wayne’s World ranks as one of the funniest and most quotable comedies of the 1990s, but that doesn’t mean it was an excellent experience for everybody on set. Now, as the sequel nears its 30th anniversary, director Penelope Spheeris reflects on her clashes with star/apparent diva Mike Myers and why she wasn’t asked to return.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Penelope Spheeris pointed to the test screenings as the real point at which her relationship with Mike Myers came to a head, stemming from a lack of trust in the director and the viewers. “I got great audience reaction in the testing setting. That’s when the crap hit the fan,” she said. “He wasn’t there to witness the incredible audience reaction and look at the test cards and realize that we had something on our hands.” Instead, Myers handed over 11 pages of notes, which Spheeris...

Wayne’s World director Penelope Spheeris is setting the record straight about rumored clashes with star Mike Myers on the set of 1992’s Wayne’s World — the first scripted feature for both of them.
“It was not an uncomfortable set,” Spheeris, 77, tells THR‘s It Happened in Hollywood podcast. “Mike is hypoglycemic, so if he got low blood sugar he could get grumpy. So, big deal. I worked with Richard Pryor and Albert Brooks. They’ll cause you a heart attack.”
Spheeris says the discord began after filming had wrapped and the finished film was screened for test audiences. Myers’ father died at that time, so he returned to Canada for the funeral and missed those early screenings.

An excellent interview with Saturday Night Live alum Dana Carvey is making the rounds after the 67-year-old comedian said he’s game for Wayne’s World 3. Carvey spoke with People on Sunday night at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where his former SNL castmate Adam Sandler received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. While taking a break from the event, People asked Carvey if Wayne’s World 3 could happen. Carvey said he’s “always game” to team up with Myers for another film based on the Aurora misfits and their hard-rockin’ adventures.
“Yes, it is,” Carvey said when asked if a third Wayne’s World movie is possible. “I don’t know. Maybe we’ll do it in puppets. I’m not sure.”
Okay, Carvey. Now that you’ve put the idea into the world, who do I have to bribe to get Wayne’s World 3 with puppets off the ground?...

He plays Michelle Yeoh‘s father in the critically acclaimed multiverse film.
In an interview with ABC, Hong stated that this was his first time attending the Oscars in his 70-year acting career.

Garth: What do you do if every time you see this one incredible woman, you think you’re gonna hurl?
Wayne: I say hurl. If you blow chunks and she comes back, she’s yours. But if you spew and she bolts, it was never meant to be.
Sage advice from two legends. Really, this line from the original Penelope Spheeris-helmed Wayne’s World (1992) sort of encapsulates a lot about what makes that film so great: its strength is its expert ability to elucidate intelligent truths, covertly bundled in the ramblings of airheads.

Hulu’s list of new releases for June 2021 is highlighted by a host of useful library titles and one fascinating original film.
The original film in question is the one that lends its delightful photo of Pierce Brosnan delivering a baby to this post. False Positive stars and was written by Ilana Glazer (Broad City). It sounds like a really fun, creepy time with a synopsis that reads: “After months of trying and failing to get pregnant, Lucy (Glazer) and Adrian (Justin Theroux) finally find their dream fertility doctor in the illustrious Dr. Hindle (Pierce Brosnan). But after becoming pregnant with a healthy baby girl, Lucy begins to notice something sinister through Hindle’s gleaming charm, and she sets out to uncover the unsettling truth about him, and her own “birth story.” Cool!
Hulu’s other original offerings aren’t too inspiring this month. Only Love, Victor season 2 on June 11 moves the needle much.

Before watching Coming 2 America, try to think of some successful comedy sequels. If the best you can conjure up is Wayne’s World 2 or 22 Jump Street then that really speaks for itself, doesn’t it? More difficult than the traditional comedy sequel is the many-years-too-late variety of retread. Just ask Zoolander 2 or Dumb and Dumber To. Rehashing the same jokes and running them into the ground, reusing the old beloved catchphrases, and hitting the same story beats typically set comedy sequels up for failure, no matter how nostalgic audiences may be for the original. For every Borat 2, there are 10 Hangover 2s.
The team behind Coming 2 America knows this. They even acknowledge it with a joke in the movie. It’s obvious that the everyone involved with Coming 2 America, including returning stars Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall, director Craig Brewer, and screenwriters Kenya Barris, Barry W. Blaustein,...

This was difficult, because boy oh boy has Saturday Night Live brought us a mass of talent who have since become mega-stars in movie and/or television. I had to make this list, scrap the list, edit the list, add and take away from the list, and do it all over again before landing on a final ten. I’m still not sure I have this right, because it’s also a bit subjective too. There are huge names not on this list, like Jimmy Fallon, Kristen Wiig, Chevy Chase, Tim Meadows, Chris Rock, Andy Samberg and various others. Yes, each of these names appeared on the list at one point or another, but I decided on this ten based on their memorable moments on SNL, their impact on the show, and yeah, the things they went on to do afterwards. Some are here because their runs on SNL were iconic,...

Hong, an American-born actor of Chinese descent, has over 600 film and television credits to his name over a career that has spanned nearly seven decades and counting. Hong’s credits include “Chinatown,” “Blade Runner,” “Wayne’s World 2,” voice roles in “Kung Fu Panda,” “Mulan,” and “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” and more. A CNN article published August 3 highlighting Hong’s prolific career as a working actor went viral and inspired Kim to launch a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign to help get Hong a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
“James Hong just might be the most prolific actor in Hollywood history,” Kim wrote in an introduction. “As of July 2020, he has a total of 672 credits, which include 469 TV shows, 149 feature films, 32 short films, and 22 video games…...

Every month comes and every month this article demands to be written. It’s a tragic, inescapable fact that movies leave streaming services all the time, but it’s a privilege to be able to inform you when their number is up. I well up every time. No joke. I put a box of Kleenex on standby. Honest.
Today’s departure list concerns every film leaving Hulu at the end of July (on the 31st). Lots of names you won’t necessarily be familiar with, but I guarantee one will be impossible to miss.

Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn made their mark together as the hosts of the reality competition TV series “Project Runway.” The Emmy-winning pair left that show to preside over another hunt for the next hot designer, “Making the Cut.” This globe-trotting series, which debuts in March on Amazon Prime Video, takes contestants to the design capitals of the world as they compete to stay in the competition.
Amazon Prime Video has also cornered the market on the remakes of Agatha Christie‘s classic mystery novels. The adaptation of her one-off novel, “The Pale Horse,” starts to stream on Amazon Prime mid month after debuting on the BBC at Christmas.
Below is the full schedule of everything that is coming to Amazon Prime Video in March 2020. Unlike Netflix, Amazon does not disclose the shows and movies leaving the service in any given month.

Here's everything coming to Amazon Prime instant video in March 2020!
For its new releases in March 2020, Amazon Prime is enlisting help from some horror friends.
Yes, horror is the name of the game this month with Night of the Living Dead (albeit the 2007 version), The Crazies, and The Descent all arriving on March 1. And if that weren't enough, Pet Sematary comes a little later on on May 19. Look at Church the cat in that thumbnail image. How could you not want to watch his spooky adventures?
The Amazon original offerings are typically sparse for March 2020 but still pack some punch. Italian import ZeroZeroZero stars Gabriel Byrne and arrives on May 6. Then British import Agatha Christie's The Pale Horse comes a little later on March 13.
For what it's worth, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot debuts on March 13 so it's not all horror and all European TV all the time.

We’ve already touched base on the Netflix titles heading our way next month, but what about Amazon Prime?
Though the former is widely considered to be the undisputed heavyweight of the online streaming world, it didn’t take long for Prime to become a tantalizing prospect, no thanks to kick-ass original series like The Expanse, The Boys and The Man in the High Castle.
The real issue for the end consumer is juggling all those subscriptions, particularly now that Disney+ is live across North America (March 24th for those in the UK). Be that as it may, as February nears its end, Amazon has detailed all of the content bound for Prime in March 2020.
Among the new additions are a host of big-name horror films, including Neil Marshall’s The Descent and its creepy sequel. Best of all? Pet Sematary, the reimagining of Stephen King’s literary developed by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer.

Right from the start, Norman Greenbaum had a good feeling about “Spirit in the Sky.”
“At first the record company said, ‘Gee, they don’t play anything like this on Top 20,'” the singer-songwriter tells Rolling Stone of his immortal boogie-rock anthem. “But obviously they were wrong. We always knew it was going to be a hit. It just sounded too good.”

On the surface, Wayne's World 2 might have seemed like a lighthearted sequel to the massively popular buddy-comedy, starring Mike Myers and Dana Carvey. But behind the scenes, the lead-up to production was rife with in-fighting — so much that, at one point, it left the film’s star curled up in a fetal position on the couch of one of Hollywood's biggest execs.

Bill & Ted, Addams Family Values, Wayne's World 2 - the 1990s wasn't short of good comedy sequels. It's just not enough people watched them.
In recent times, Hollywood has enjoyed going back into the 1990s to come up with belated sequels to previous hit movies. So, we finally got Dumb & Dumber 2, for instance, whilst a third Clerks, a second Mallrats, a new Sister Act and a Naked Gun reboot are being cooked up somewhere. Further belated sequels? Zoolander 2 finally arrives next year, and Anchorman 2 celebrates, quietly, its second birthday this Christmas.
It was only at the end of the 1990s that comedy sequels suddenly really took off. There were exceptions beforehand of course, but few things raise the eyebrows of Hollywood high brass than lots of cash. This, whilst the enormous box office takings of Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me were in part down to an utterly inspired marketing campaign,...

While living in Music City, the Aerosmith legend is not only adding an unexpected new chapter to his monster of a music career but also adding another line to his acting resume.
After a late night Monday watching Sheryl Crow perform at the Rolling Stone Country/Rolling Stone Films party in downtown Nashville, Tyler was up early to sing with another Hollywood-gone-country celebrity, Hayden Panettiere.

The 1990s: a time when Sleepwalkers, Burt Reynolds, No Escape, Chevy Chase and F/X/2 could top the Us box office...
By the 1990s, studios were waking up to movie marketing, and the era of the blockbuster. Tim Burton's Batman, released in summer 1989, had introduced the idea of a big opening weekend, and modern movies now target their promotional work to get just that. As such, it's harder and harder for smaller films to snare the top slot at the Us box office, even for one weekend.
In the 1990s, particularly the first half of the 1990s, that wasn't so much the case though. In fact, many films that have long since fallen from the public conscious topped the chart. And in this piece, I've tried to capture some of them.

What worked for Wayne's World 2 rang equally true for the Jameson Empire Awards 2015 with the red carpet rolled out at London's Grosvenor Hotel and an array of stars, filmmakers and movie luminaries striding it on their way into Empire magazine's night of nights. In attendance were Jessica Chastain, her Interstellar director Christopher Nolan, Karen Gillan, the Paddington ensemble, Hayley Atwell, Daniel Radcliffe, Olga Kurylenko, Andy Serkis, Mark Strong, a Westeros house's worth of Game Of Thrones cast members, Simon Pegg, Henry Cavill and Ralph Fiennes. With the new year comes a slew of new movies and TV shows on Netflix, and everyone's favorite streaming service is adding some great titles in January 2015.

Some smaller favorites are also coming to Netflix: Internet obsession "Mean Girls" returns (to stay?! Please!), Reese Witherspoon dark comedy "Election" gets a run, and this past summer's little-comedy-that-could, "Chef," makes its subscription service debut.
But wait, there's more!
"Friends" fans have been dying for the series to come to Netflix, and now that dream is coming true! Beginning January 1, subscribers will be able to watch every single episode, catching up with Monica, Joey, Chandler, Ross, Rachel, and Phoebe whenever and wherever they want. Some sequels are doomed to live in the shadow of the hits that triggered them. Here are a few examples...
Following up a successful movie with a sequel is a tough proposition for any writer or director, and it's often the case that such follow-ups fail to recreate the magic of their predecessors. But sometimes, sequels can offer a different yet entertaining experience of their own, and it's even possible that, if they didn't happen to share the same name as an earlier hit film, they might even have been better received.
This article's dedicated to a few of these kinds of films. They offer lots of excitement, comedy, jolts of terror and a smattering of great performances, and might have fared better with audiences and critics had they not been sequels. At the very least, they attempted to do something a little different than the films they followed. While other examples undeniably remain,...

I love it when I'm watching a movie and all of a sudden, out of nowhere there's a surprise appearance by a big, well-known actor. Sometimes the roles are funny, sometimes actors parody themselves, and then there are times when we get an incredible dramatic performance. There are a ton of great movie cameos out there, but I thought I'd put together a list of 20 cameos and small movie roles that I have enjoyed over the years.
There are some famous cameos such as Stan Lee's Marvel movie cameos and the Anchorman cameos that I purposely left off the list because they seem to be obvious choices.
Look over my list and let me know what your favorite movie cameos are in the comment section!
Bill Murray - Little Shop of Horrors
This is by far my favorite movie cameo of all time. Murray is absolutely hilarious in every way.

Margot Kidder was Lois Lane in Superman, Kim Basinger was Vicki Vale in Batman. But what happened afterwards to their careers, and those of other well-known love interests?
Had been a Hollywood siren since 9 1/2 Weeks in 1986, and cheerfully satirised herself in Wayne's World 2 and Cool World but disaster struck when she pulled out of Boxing Helena, Jennifer Lynch's directorial debut, and had to pay back more than $3m (£1.8m). Her career high point came in 1997 when she won best supporting actress Oscar for La Confidential for, essentially, impersonating Veronica Lake, one of the greatest of all Hollywood sirens. Since then it has all gone a bit flat.

Sure, Christopher Walken is one of his generation's most versatile thespians, with a distinctive speaking voice that could make a wolverine purr. But, as any true Walken disciple knows, the man's greatest strength is his smooth-as-silk dancing.
Whether he's gracefully frolicking around in a music video (the Spike Jonze-directed clip for Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice") or randomly hamming it up on the big screen (as he did in classics like Pulp Fiction, The Deer Hunter and the undisputed comedy masterpiece Wayne's World 2), Walken's got serious skills.

On a sunny May morning in northwest Atlanta, Will Ferrell ambles into the warehouse at 2282 Defoor Hills Road – a windowless, 31,000-square-foot behemoth that has been transformed, thanks to low rents and generous Georgia tax incentives, into a makeshift movie soundstage. James Hong -- who famously played Lo Pan in the 1986 classic "Big Trouble in Little China" -- is still an ass man ... as in, he recently signed one at a comic book convention in Austin. It all went down when a superhero nerdette dressed as Wonder Woman approached Hong at Comic Con in Austin this week and asked for his John Hancock on her right butt cheek. Hong obliged -- and included a strategically placed...

Another 25 unsung greats come under the spotlight, as we provide our pick of the underappreciated films of 1993...
What a year 1993 was. It saw the release of Star Fox on the Super Nintendo. Bill Clinton became president. Season three of Deep Space Nine premiered on Us television. UK politician Douglas Hurd visited Argentina. Cyndi Lauper released her album Hat Full Of Stars.
Aside from those earth shattering events, we'll probably remember 1993, in cinema terms, as the year Jurassic Park dominated the box office like an angry Tyrannosaurus. A true phenomenon, its profits doubled those of the second most watched film in 1993 cinemas, Mrs Doubtfire, and almost three times as much as the movie below that - the Harrison Ford thriller, The Fugitive.
But as ever, there was so much more to the 1993 movie landscape than dinosaurs and Robin Williams dressed as an old woman.

Wayne's World 2
Earlier this year, director Penelope Spheeris came together with stars Mike Myers and Dana Carvey for a Wayne's World reunion event, 21 years after the success of the original film. It would be fair to say that Spheeris and Myers had not spent much time together in the intervening period.
Spheeris is adamant that Myers didn't want her in charge for the sequel,...
