King Kong ain’t got nothin’ on Denzel Washington but he did have something on Ethan Hawke on Oscar night 2002, when Hawke lost Best Supporting Actor for his remarkable performance in Training Day. But without his co-star, Hawke might have been plenty more devastated than he was allowed to be.
Appearing on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? (via Variety), Ethan Hawke remembered that Denzel Washington had some sage wisdom after he lost to Iris’ Jim Broadbent. According to Hawke, Washington told him, “‘It’s better that you didn’t win. Losing was better…You don’t want an award to improve your status. You want to improve the award’s status.’ That’s the way he thinks…The Academy Award has more power, because Denzel has a couple. It didn’t elevate who he was.” Washington would go on to win Best Actor later that night, which we’d...

Denzel Washington is unarguably one of the best actors and personality as a whole that the entertainment industry could ever be gifted with. Not only is he one of the most respectable celebrities in all of Hollywood, he is also one of the most widely commended actors of all time. If anything, he doesn’t hesitate to speak his mind and act his heart out.
Denzel Washington in The Tragedy of Macbeth.
That being said, he also aimed to break one long-standing stereotype about him while working on his 2001 thriller-crime masterpiece with Ethan Hawke, Training Day. According to what Hawke shared during an interview, even when people tried to stop him, Washington stayed on his decision to prove that he could play a bad guy and still be a role model by “being great at my job.”

CNN anchor Kate Bolduan got an interesting new job in 2022 when she was named the anchor of “5 Things,” a quick-hit open-the-day summary of top stories that was made available for streaming audiences. Two years later, she appears poised to get it again.
Bolduan will lead a test run of “5 Things” starting Monday on CNN Max, the live-streamed news service available on Max, the streaming venue backed by corporate parent Warner Bros. Discovery. The program’s reappearance after a long absence marks the latest chapter in a concept that many at the news outlet seem to love, but just can’t figure out how to transform into a sustainable video franchise. CNN already operates a podcast and newsletter tied to the format.

It’s difficult to imagine James Cameron’s The Terminator (1984) with an actor in the lead other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. The star propelled the franchise to fame, and it also cemented his legacy in Hollywood, but he was surprisingly not the studio’s first choice for the role.
Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator
Cameron knew exactly what he was looking for when he cast Schwarzenegger. Consequently, the director immediately refused the idea of having former NFL star Oj Simpson involved in the movie.
James Cameron Clarified Mystery Behind Oj Simpson’s Involvement In The Terminator
In an interview with Independent, former professional bodybuilder and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger shared he was not the first person in mind when James Cameron was prepping for The Terminator.
“It was actually Oj Simpson that was the first cast Terminator. Then somehow [James Cameron] felt that he was not as believable for a killing machine. So then they hired me.

Larry David recently shut down Chris Wallace’s query about his net worth. David is considered to be one of the richest television producers in Hollywood having a reported net worth of $400 million. However, in comparison to Seinfeld co-creator Jerry Seinfeld, who was recently reported to be a billionaire, David’s net worth purportedly falls short, amounting to less than half of his fellow comedian.

Chris Wallace took a moment on CNN’s The Chris Wallace Show on Saturday morning to condemn the deaths of World Central Kitchen aid workers amid the Israel-Hamas war.
Saifeddin Issam Ayad Abutaha, John Chapman, Jacob Flickinger, Zomi Frankcom, James Henderson, James Kirby and Damian Soból were killed by Israeli airstrikes on April 1. Officials in Israel later explained that a “misidentification” led to the deadly attack on their convoy.
During his “Tell Me Why I’m Wrong” segment, Wallace stated that he had a personal connection to the aid organization because his daughter previously served as one of its workers.
“For six months, we’ve witnessed the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the Idf striking back at Hamas after it killed more than 1,000 Israelis in that savage attack on Oct. 7,” he said. “For some, that’s the collateral damage of war. For others,...

Larry David Calls Trump “Sick Sociopath” and Claps Back at Chris Wallace Over Net Worth in Interview
Larry David had some blunt words about former President Donald Trump and his ongoing false claims that the 2020 election was stolen, calling the mogul a “little baby,” a “sick man” and a “sociopath” while appearing on Chris Wallace’s new streaming show this week.
David, whose long-running HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm concludes its 12th and final season April 7, did not hold back while speaking with longtime cable news host Wallace on his new Max series, Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? The final season’s plot has David’s curmudgeon character becoming a cause célèbre after he’s arrested for offering water to a woman waiting in line to vote in Georgia, referencing a new law there following the 2020 election. (The plot also invoked Trump’s mugshot.)

Rob Reiner directed When Harry Met Sally back in 1989. Written by Nora Ephron, the movie starred Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal in the two titular roles, and went on to become a top-tier placeholder in the genre of romantic comedies. Reiner himself made a lot of contributions to the screenplay of the movie, and was even the basis for the character of Harry. Ephron, on the other hand, was the basis of the character Sally.

The movie’s initial idea came from Reiner as well. After his divorce from his first wife, Penny Marshal, an interview with Ephron was where the idea snowballed into a script for a movie. And it was also Reiner who decided to change the initial ending to guve Harry and Sally their happy ending.

Everyone enjoys a good rom-com and with the plethora of different variations of this genre now being developed by individuals, we would have to thank the contributions of actress Meg Ryan and actor Billy Crystal for their iconic 1989 rom-com film When Harry Met Sally… If there’s one title among the rest that needs to be crowned the best romance/comedy, then this film will win unanimously.

But this wasn’t the original plan that the director and co-writer Rob Reiner had in mind, in fact, it was a tragic tale that he would’ve brought to life if he hadn’t met...

Rob Reiner’s 1980s classic ‘When Harry Met Sally’ almost had quite a different ending, according to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’. During an interview with CNN’s Chris Wallace, the classic film’s director and co-writer Rob Reiner revealed that his and Nora Ephron’s script originally had a sadder ending for Harry (Billy Crystal) and Sally (Meg Ryan).
“It was going to be the two of them seeing each other after years, talking and then walking away from each other,” Reiner told Wallace, according to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’. “I had been married for 10 years. I’d been single for 10 years, and I couldn’t figure out how I was ever going to be with anybody, and that gave birth to ‘When Harry Met Sally’.”
Reiner continued, “I met my wife Michele, who I’ve been married to now for 35 years. I met her while we were making the film, and I changed the ending.

Deadpool 3 Releases Special Valentine’s Day Poster to Celebrate Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Duo
Deadpool is one of the most well-known and notorious characters in the entirety of the Marvel ethos, whether it be in games, movies, or comic books. The Merc with a Mouth found success in comics and games, but it took him until 2016 to finally become a success on the Silver Screen, with Deadpool (2016).
Now, 8 years later, fans are going to be treated to Deadpool 3. On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, Deadpool 3 has released a special poster to celebrate Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s dynamic duo friendship in the film.

The boys are back: Ben Affleck is directing Animals, starring Matt Damon. Written by Colin McIntyre and Billy Ray, the brand-new thrilleris coming soon to Netflix.
This marks only the second time Damon has appeared in a film directed by Affleck: In 2023’s Air, Damon played Nike talent scout Sonny Vaccaro, who lands Michael Jordan for a groundbreaking sponsorship deal.
Still, the longtime friends have a history of collaboration. In 1997, Damon and Affleck co-starred in and co-wrote Good Will Hunting; their screenplay went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Since then, the duo have made several brief appearances together (usually in pal Kevin Smith’s films) but largely flourished in parallel blockbuster careers. That is, until a recent on-screen reunion in 2021’s The Last Duel.

Have you heard it’s cold in Des Moines? The subzero temperatures are making Monday’s caucuses in Iowa the coldest on record, a running theme of coverage throughout the day and into this evening. It’s not trivial, as the frigid weather may very well impact turnout.
As Iowa’s first votes of the 2024 presidential race come in, expect a lot of analysis, punditry and prediction, even if the results represent just a sliver of the primary electorate. Adam Driver is steering clear of journalists asking why he played back-to-back Italian icons.
The actor, who previously starred as Maurizio Gucci in Ridley Scott’s “House of Gucci” and recently led Michael Mann’s “Ferrari” as Enzo Ferrari, said during the “Smartless” podcast (via The Wrap) that while playing two Italian characters consecutively wasn’t “strategic,” that’s how it “worked out.”
“So many people have been like, ‘How many Italians?’ I’m like, it’s just kind of worked out that way,” Driver said, noting that perhaps someone on his PR team should have warned him it would “come up a lot” on the press tour for “Ferrari,” but “press isn’t a place where you have a nuanced conversation.”
Driver added that his casting was a “good example of not being strategic in a way that I probably should,” but working with director Mann was impossible to pass up.

Directed by Emmett Alston, who crafted the story with screenwriter Leonard Neubauer, New Year’s Evil has the following synopsis: On New Year’s Eve, a famous TV punk-rock lady icon hosts a late hour countdown celebration of music and partying. All goes well, until she receives a strange sounding phone call. Kristen Welker wants to “Meet The Press” with something new.
So the new Sunday-show moderator is introducing a different sort of recurring segment to NBC’s venerable public affairs program. “Meet The Moment” will feature conversations with influentials from outside the usual Beltway haunts, who will still weigh in on issues of importance to voters and the long-running show’s overall audience. Among those who have appeared: Olympic gold medalist Allyson Felix, who discussed Black maternal health; actor Selma Blair, who has become an advocate for fair disability pay after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis; author and The Atlantic staff writer Tim Alberta, who has scrutinized changes in the Evangelical church; and Iranian activist Masih Alinejad, who has pushed for women’s rights in Iran.
Some of these segments will run again this Sunday. More “Moments” are expected in 2024.

Hollywood actor Adam Driver on Saturday Night Live referred to not killing the character of Han Solo in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. The ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ star got into the Christmas spirit and revealed why it was his favourite holiday of the year, reports deadline.com. “I’m so excited to be back, especially during this time of year,” Driver said during his monologue.
“I love Christmas. It’s my favorite holiday, the food, the music, the family… But largely it’s because I have a very deep and personal relationship with Santa.”
Driver went on to explain that he has a special ritual with Santa where the actor tells the North Pole resident his list.
The Girls alum then made a joke naming a past SNL cast member.
“Usually I do it in private,” Driver said of his ritual with Santa. “Since we’re here, and I know Santa watches SNL.

Michael Mann has allegedly been in talks with his Ferrari star, Adam Driver, to portray a young McCauley for his upcoming sequel to his 1995 Los Angeles crime drama, Heat. Mann has glowed about working with Driver on Ferrari, citing his matching intense work ethic, which had them getting along like “a house on fire.” He’s said that they like each other and had a great time working with each other artistically. Driver rose to household name status thanks to his turn as the villainous Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. However, on a surface level, Driver impressively pulls his weight despite not having the “classic movie star good looks” when compared to a Brad Pitt or even a Timothée Chalamet.

“Those are the actors that made me want to be an actor, you know, so that’s a nice comparison,” he said.

Adam Driver has had a pretty remarkable career trajectory up to this point: hitting the Law & Order circuit before breaking out as the ugly guy on Girls and landing films for the likes of Noah Baumbach, the Coen Brothers and Martin Scorsese. And we can’t forget two Oscar nods to his credit. But to many, he’ll always be the guy that murdered one of the greatest characters in sci-fi history, Han Solo. And yes, Adam Driver still gets reminded of that by Star Wars fans.
Appearing on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace (as per IndieWire), Adam Driver noted that his initial outing as Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens gave him a difficult task in offing his old man, something he is hounded about even eight years after its release. “Somebody reminds me about that everyday…Not every day but yeah, it used to be...

Adam Driver On The Constant Reminder That Kylo Ren Killed Han Solo In ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
Adam Driver has been facing the wrath of Star Wars fans for the actions of his on-screen character Kylo Ren.
During an appearance on Max’s Who’s Talking To Chris Wallace?, Driver opened up about fans reminding him “every day” that his supervillain character was the one that killed Harrison Ford’s Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
“Somebody reminds me about that every day,” Driver joked. “Not every day but yeah, it used to be more but now it’s probably once a month somewhere.”
Driver also talked about how it was filming the scene with Ford saying, “Obviously, John Williams’ [score] wasn’t playing in the background and it was very emotional actually, shooting it with Harrison. Harrison was so generous and contemplative and to me that was a great moment on set, even though it was his death.”

Adam Driver has revealed the scene he still can’t live down, even nearly a decade after 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released.

Though Solo’s death left fans divided, it helped establish Ren’s place in the Star Wars sequels, as he battled between the light and dark sides of the Force.

MSNBC is shaking up its weekend schedule as CNN’s Saturday and Sunday offerings continue to provide strong competition.
The NBCUniversal cable-news outlet plans to a launch a new panel show, “The Weekend,” co-moderated by Alicia Menendez, Symone Sanders-Townsend and Michael Steele that will air Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and will cancel a nighttime show anchored by the outspoke Mehdi Hasan. Those move will not only consolidate anchors who had been active on the weekend schedule in their own time slots, but leave room for broad change.
MSNBC’s weekend schedule has long been edged out by CNN among viewers between 25 and 54 — the audience most coveted by advertisers in news programming. CNN launched a new Saturday-morning lineup in November featuring Victor Blackwell,. Chris Wallace and Christiane Amanpour, and paced ahead of MSNBC in both that demographic and total viewers, according to recent data from Nielsen.

Ken Jennings says his Jeopardy! rivalry with “villain” James Holzhauer is all for show. In a new episode of Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace (streaming now on Max), host Chris Wallace asks Jennings about his on-screen feud with the Jeopardy champ. Jennings says that Holzhauer intentionally created his villain persona like one would in pro wrestling. “Am I crazy or is there a bit of an edge in your rivalry with James Holzhauer or Jeopardy James? It seems like there’s a little bit of an edge there,” Wallace asked the game show host. As Jennings replies: “The thing you have to understand about James is, he decided at one point in preparing for the show that Jeopardy needed a villain. He’s a pro wrestling fan. CNN’s new streaming product is set to look an awful lot like its familiar cable network.
CNN Max, which debuted Wednesday, has been touted as a way to get news giant’s content out to a increasing number of cord-cutters and consumers who no longer view cable as their primary way to get video entertainment and information. And parent company Warner Bros. NBC News may trump its rivals when it comes to interviewing a certain former Commander-in-Chief.
David Muir, Lesley Stahl, John Dickerson, Chris Wallace, Bill O’Reilly, Kaitlan Collins and Jim Acosta have all tried their hand at interviewing Donald Trump; lobbing questions at him; or moderating a debate or event in which his participation was key. Some have drawn blood and others have been bloodied (and some others left agog as Trump walked out unexpectedly). CNN, whose brief foray into subscription streaming was snuffed out shortly after the close of the WarnerMedia-Discovery merger in April 2022, is officially getting real estate on Max.
A new offering, CNN Max, will be added to the streaming service in what Warner Bros. Discovery called an “open beta” on September 27. It will consist of a 24/7 stream pulled from the news network’s U.S. and international feeds, with a sprinkling of original fare, with user feedback welcomed. For many reasons, some having to do with contracts with pay-tv operators, it won’t be a full-over-the top version of linear CNN, and certain talent and new shows like the new 9 p.m. hour hosted by Kaitlan Collins will not be in the mix.
Wbd CEO David Zaslav hinted at the new venture during the company’s quarterly earnings call several weeks ago, saying news and sports make SVOD platforms “come alive.

Warner Bros. Discovery is back in the hunt for a new executive to oversee CNN.
Mark Thompson, the former CEO of New York Times Co. and a former Director-General of the BBC is “in the mix” of potential candidates being considered by the media conglomerate, according to two people familiar with the matter. Warner Bros. Discovery is putting itself through a “thorough process,” according to one of these people, to find a new leader for its popular news outlet as it grapples with linear ratings shortfalls and attempts to make its way through the world of streaming.
CNN referred inquiries on the matter to Warner Bros. Discovery, which declined to make executives available for comment. Semafor previously reported that Thompson was on the company’s list of CNN candidates.
It it not clear if Thompson and the company are in active discussions about the role, or if he...

CNN+ may not have worked, but perhaps CNN on Max will.
Warner Bros. Discovery is planning to launch new original programs from CNN that will stream on its Max streaming service, according to three people familiar with the matter. Jim Sciutto, Bianna Golodryga, Rahel Solomon and Christiane Amanpour are among the CNN journalists who have been tapped to take part in the effort, according to two of these people.
CNN and Max could make an announcement about the project as soon as Thursday, according to these people, and would likely provide greater detail. A spokeswoman for CNN declined to comment and a spokesman for Max declined to comment.
Warner Bros. Discovery scuttled the nascent CNN+ streaming service within days of taking over CNN’s corporate parent, once known as WarnerMedia, from AT&T in 2022. Now the company seems more eager to make CNN programming available to cord-cutters, perhaps realizing that the cable-news giant,...

Jumping the gun on Fox News’ GOP debate tonight, Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson made it clear to Rupert Murdoch that revenge is a dish best served online. Running like an incumbent with no desire to share the spotlight with vice president wannabes, Trump easily dominated the debate by never showing up.
“It’s debate night, but we’re not in Milwaukee,” Carlson proclaimed at the top of the video with a sour-looking Trump by his side.
“We’re doing this interview, but we’ll get bigger ratings using this crazy forum that you’re using than probably the debate,” said the former Potus and leading candidate for the 2024 Republican nomination to the former Fnc Golden Boy during their pre-recorded chat that debuted on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter at 5:55 p.m. Pt, five minutes before the live debate began.
