Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Season 3, Part 1 of Netflix’s Bridgerton.
Bridgerton fans were more than ready to see Penelope and Colin’s love story unfold in Season 3 of the Netflix series, but little did they know that Polin wouldn’t be the only courtship in the Bridgerton household this season.
Audiences were surely surprised by the introduction of John Stirling, Earl of Kilmartin (Victor Alli) in Episode 3 as a love interest for Francesca (Hannah Dodd). Book readers will know John from the sixth novel in Julia Quinn’s series, When He Was Wicked.
In the novel, John serves a pivotal role in Francesca’s ultimate journey, to put it one way. No spoilers here, but there are below.
Deadline spoke with series newcomer Victor Alli about playing the much-anticipated Earl and what to expect from John and Francesca in the remainder of the season. Part 2 of Bridgerton...

The first part of the third season of Bridgerton has been released on Netflix, and yet another wedding season is full of trouble for this family. Violet Bridgerton is still hoping someone can charm Eloise – after last year's scandal, the girl is struggling to join the company of potential brides.
And this time, the Bridgertons are introducing a new debutante – the reserved and humble Francesca.
Season 3 Puts Francesca in the Spotlight
A girl who is passionate about music has a hard time communicating with gentlemen. But history shows that you can find a soul mate even if you don't like to talk. This is another interesting plot device – Francesca has been in the background for the last two seasons.
However, as soon as John Stirling, Francesca's apparent love interest, appeared on the screen, all fan discussions were filled with comments sympathetic to this character, hinting at some kind of tragedy.

Ring the dressing gong because it’s time to change... shows, that is. With Downton Abbey taking its final bow on Netflix on May 31, it’s time to bid adieu to the Crawley family and their downstairs staff. Spanning some 13 years, from 1912 to 1925, Downton Abbey’s six seasons are set against a backdrop of massive social upheaval in Great Britain. When the series begins, the biggest concern of Lord and Lady Crawley (Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern) — aka the Earl and Countess of Grantham — is whether their eldest daughter, Mary (Michelle Dockery), will marry her distant cousin (Dan Stevens), whom fate has chosen as heir to the Grantham estate. Fast-forward through a world war, Spanish flu, the dawn of the Jazz Age, and several near-bankruptcies, and the world has changed far more than Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) may care to admit. Hemlines are shorter, footmen are a...

Spoiler Alert: This article discusses plot points from the series finale of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
After nearly 25 years of Larry David’s disagreements, feuds and outbursts, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” aired its final episode on Sunday.
The appropriately-named “No Lessons Learned” — the 10th episode of Season 12 — wrapped up a season-long arc that started when Larry was arrested in Atlanta for giving water to Auntie Rae (Ellia English) while she was in line to vote, violating local law. Through the season, he became something of a pop culture hero for doing the right thing, even though had no idea he was breaking any law, let alone making any sort of statement.
Of course, Larry’s entourage heads to Atlanta for the trial, including Cheryl (Cheryl Hines) and Ted Danson (playing himself), Jeff (Jeff Garlin) and Susie (Susie Essman), and Leon (J. B. Smoove) and Richard Lewis (playing himself). Richard headed to Atlanta...

Quick, think of an English king famous for having insatiable appetites, beef with the pope, and a romantic life so messy that hooking up with him was a shortcut to either limitless political power or the Tower of London. If you’re thinking of Henry VIII, he of six wives and the whole “divorced, beheaded, died” thing, come on. The Tudors don’t have a monopoly on bizarre, sexy royal drama. Frankly, they’ve had enough time in the spotlight.
Starz’s “Mary & George” finally shifts that spotlight to the Jacobean era — named for King James I of England and VI of Scotland, who became king when the Tudor line ended and who transformed the English court into what happens when the VIP section of a Scottish gay bar takes over the government. And that’s just the beginning of the story. Here’s what you need to know...

Prince William’s not king yet — he’s heir apparent to King Charles III — but he’s already got his work cut out for him. A royal commentator hopes the Prince of Wales, 41, will make two of his cousins working royals as king. Not Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who are reportedly upset their uncle hasn’t issued a call to duty. Rather, his youngest cousins, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex, children of Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.
A commentator wants William to eventually make his cousins, Louise and James, working royals
According to commentator Richard Eden, Louise and James, who are 20 and 16, respectively, should become working royals when William takes the throne. William should ask them to serve, Eden wrote for the Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential.

Planet Hollywood Auction: (Almost) Everything Must Go!
You can’t put a price on memories, except, of course, when you can. And in March, we’ll all get a crack at buying some of the most unforgettable props in movie history at two huge, dueling movie memorabilia auctions in Los Angeles. The biggest, from March 20 to 24, will be Heritage Auctions’ Treasures From Planet Hollywood event, at which some 1,600 pieces — Princess Leia’s blaster, Indiana Jones’ whip, Jack and Rose’s lifeboat door from Titanic — will be on the block. For a mere $30,000, you could be brandishing Moses’ stone tablets from The Ten Commandments next time you’re disciplining the kids. Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earl estimates that the Tinseltown-themed restaurant franchise spent between $20 and $30 million on film memorabilia over three decades and says the lots on sale represent just a fraction of its 60,000-item collection. Thirty-three years after its founding...

The Holdovers collaborators, director Alexander Payne and screenwriter David Hemingson, are working on another film together—a Western, in fact—and during a Q&a following a screening of The Holdovers at Soho House in West Hollywood on Friday, Hemingson revealed there’s a part earmarked for Paul Giamatti.
“I’ve been sworn to secrecy,” Hemingson said, “but what I will say is we’ve written him a part and I hope he’ll do it.”
If Giamatti, who stars in The Holdovers, accepts, it would be his third collaboration with Payne since Sideways in 2004.
Hemingson went on to reveal some details of the new project: “Alexander and I are writing a Western together, so we’re going to co-write something, and it’s set in Nebraska in 1886, and it’s like no Western you have ever seen before, because it’s an Alexander Payne Western. The "Futurama" character Randy (John Dimaggio) has appeared in 17 episodes of the series to date and in three of the four movies. Randy is enthused, catty, and seen throughout the series holding down a wide variety of jobs. In one episode, he is the proprietor of a jewelry store (Dr. Zoidberg spits expensive gems at him). In another, he is seen teaching a prenatal swim class (Dr. Zoidberg froths lobster drool on him). In a third, he builds an ark to save Earth's animals during a great deluge (Dr. Zoidberg remains mercifully absent). In the latter scenario, Randy's husband points out that Randy filled the ark with same-sex couples, which he is quite proud of. "There are some parts of the Bible I like," Randy says, "and some parts I don't like."
Dimaggio has been quite outspoken on "Futurama" DVD commentaries about how much he loves Randy. Randy never emerged...

In 2017, I ended my marriage of almost 12 years. It wasn’t one big betrayal. No one was a villain, not really. What happened was the oppressive weight of being a wife and mother and the burden of heterosexual marriage broke me. Three years later, in 2020, I realized I wasn’t alone. That the cultural weight of society keeps slipping onto the shoulders of mothers and wives. We are breaking. My book This American Ex Wife examines the way marriage is inherently unequal, and the way our culture defines love as misery,...

Princess Diana was photographed over the years wearing some beautiful pieces of jewelry. From her iconic engagement ring to pearl chokers to diamond earrings and of course stunning tiaras.
Before her untimely death, Diana wrote a “letter of wishes” that stated: “I would like to allocate all my jewelry to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it.”
Today, Prince William’s wife, Kate, has several pieces that previously belonged to her mother-in-law including her sapphire engagement ring. Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan, does as well including Diana’s stunning Asprey aquamarine ring. But there is another famous piece the late princess was seen wearing multiple times that isn’t in the possession of either lady.
Read on to find out what that is and who could inherit it one day.

It’s a pretty great time to be a Neil Gaiman fan. Technically, it’s always a great time to be a Neil Gaiman fan, but it’s almost certainly never felt more fun than at this precise moment.
Good Omens, The Sandman, and American Gods have all been adapted for television within the past five years, each with a rather astonishing degree of accuracy and faithfulness-–certainly to the spirit, if not always the letter of the author’s most popular works. Both Sandman and Good Omens will return for future seasons, a series based on Gods spin-off Anansi Boys is set to debut on Prime Video in the not-too-distant future, and Dead Boy Detectives, a show that’s focused on several DC characters created by Gaiman has been reclaimed by Netflix as part of their expanding Sandman onscreen universe. Which do you prefer when it comes to crazy, maniacal, downright dirty and savage families looking to chop up some grade-a human flesh? I guess, it all comes down to personal preference, but isn’t preference drawing a fine line between comparing and downgrading the other? Well, you’re in luck, because another horror movie rip-off is in tow, and this time it brings the flesh by the pound, or pounds? I think it’s the latter. Today, we’re going to be discussing, a little bit of comparing, and see who claims victor, while the other takes the road less traveled in 2003’s Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses (watch it Here), and Tobe Hooper’s 1986 follow-up in the Leatherface mythos, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (watch it Here). Both are delightful, both are cult classics, ad both stack up well against each other. But who takes the cake,...

Touting their game as Mad Max meeting Vampire Survivors, developer Falling State Inc. recently revealed their demo for Earl vs. the Mutants. Slated for a release later this year on Steam, Earl vs. the Mutants is a twin stick post-apocalyptic top-down survival roguelite where you play as an exterminator on a mission to save humanity from waves of mutants.
Designed for “short bursts of heart-pounding, high-octane action”, Earl vs. the Mutants has a simple premise: in the aftermath of a nuclear apocalypse, mutants have begun spreading across the land. As a result, Edna has turned her pest control business into something far more benefiting of mankind. As the sole employee of Edna’s Pest Control (and winner of 37 consecutive Employee of the Month award), it’s up to Earl to lead the charge against the mutant swarms.

Considered the first film noir to feature a leading black protagonist, Odds Against Tomorrow is a vital entry in the noir canon. Directed by legend Robert Wise and produced by star Harry Belafonte’s HarBel Productions, the gritty look at racial tension is also one of cinema’s most important films about prejudice. Created amidst growing disquiet in America, the film heralds the explosive events to come at the dawn of the 1960s and the Civil Rights Movement.
The screenplay was based on the novel by William P. McGivern (The Big Heat) and secretly written by Abraham Polonsky, who penned the screenplays for films such as Body and Soul and Force of Evil. Polonsky had been blacklisted by the House Un-American Activities Committee, so Belafonte approached black novelist and friend John O. Killens to serve as the credited screenwriter. Written by long-ago Grand Ole Opry stars the Delmore Brothers, “Brown’s Ferry Blues” features Strings on lead vocals, with Fleck and Trischka delivering a pair of banjo breakdowns.

Origin is based on Isabel Wilkerson’s 2020 bestseller Caste: The Origin of Our Discontents and tracks the Pulitzer Prize winner’s creative and personal journey over several continents through grief, revelation and the evils of historical stratification. The film draws parallels between historical and modern-day oppression and persecution across the world. By weaving global threads of cruelty and dehumanization together, it underscores the timeless – and timely – dangers of extremist ideology and leaders who exploit prejudice.

The film begins with a lecture on witches and witch hunting, concluding with the tale of Drucinda of the Woods who was nailed to a tree and left for the ravens. But not before casting an unspecified curse on the woods. In the present, Robin survives a car crash only to have Drucinda cast a spell on her.

Here’s a little Broadway secret: A lot of musical adaptations of movies are fun because the film is beloved, but as a unique product the songs — and therefore the theatrical experience — are so-so.
That’s not the case with “Waitress,” the 2016 Broadway musical based on the 2007 film by the beloved late filmmaker and actress Adrienne Shelly. With Tony-nominated music and lyrics by singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles, each song is a thrilling addition that both sheds light on the characters’ interior lives but also has that piano-pop earworm quality that makes you want to add the songs to a Spotify playlist asap.
The show — a live capture film version of which will hit movie theaters nationwide on December 7 — follows Jenna (Bareilles in the filmed version), a waitress and pie maker working at a dead-end diner who dreams of a bigger life for herself away from her abusive husband Earl. An unexpected pregnancy,...

The stiff upper lip policy is something the royal family adopted decades ago. But when Meghan Markle was a working royal she insisted that the protocol had negative effects. Prince William also talked about the policy in the past and admitted that while there is a time and a place for it, there should be acceptance to be more open and upfront with feelings. Still, most members of the family have stuck with the tradition and rarely show signs of raw emotion in public.
However, they are only human like the rest of us and for some of the younger royals, remaining stoic with people always watching can be difficult. Now, a video circulating online shows family members protecting and blocking one royal when they began to cry as cameras rolled.

The 2016 Tony Awards were something of a rout: With its 11 wins, Hamilton was the only new musical to take home any trophies at all. But it wasn’t the only Broadway smash of the season. Waitress, the smaller-scale, utterly lovely adaptation of writer-director Adrienne Shelly’s 2007 film, ran for nearly four years, finally closing in January 2020.
Like Hamilton, Waitress’s composer-lyricist would come to also star in the production: Singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles appeared for three short stints in the lead role, causing the box office to surge each time. When theaters reopened, so, too, did Waitress, in a limited remounting in late 2021, designed in part to allow the cameras to capture Bareilles’s performance. This film was no doubt inspired by the artistic and commercial success of Hamilton’s “pro-shot,” as official films of stage performances have come to be known in the theater community.

Elvis Presley‘s Graceland home in Memphis, Tennessee, is beautiful any time of year. However, it really comes alive during Christmastime. It was the King of Rock and Roll’s favorite holiday, and he spared no expense when decorating his home. However, did Elvis ever put up Graceland’s now-iconic Christmas decorations? His cousin Danny Smith weighs in.
Did Elvis Presley decorate Graceland for Christmas?
Christmas was the one time of year that Elvis Presley spared no expense to celebrate. He enjoyed giving gifts, the religious spirit of the holiday, and, of course, all the lights and sparkle that went with it.
In a video posted to his Memphis Mafia Kid YouTube channel, Elvis’ cousin Danny Smith discussed his love for the festive holiday season. He revealed if Elvis participated in decorating his beloved home for Christmas.
“The Memphis Mafia did not help with the decorations for Christmas,” Smith revealed.

Firstly, a big shout out to Mark Duplass, who has been constantly posting about mental health awareness on Instagram while candidly talking about his own struggle. Several weeks ago, I complained about how his character, executive producer Chip Black, got pretty much sidelined in the latest season of Apple TV’s The Morning Show. Well, I should probably retract that complaint after the latest episode, which also happens to be the season finale. Not that Duplass had a lot of screen time in it, but his impact was felt throughout. And in an uncharacteristically restrained season finale, Chip is the only one who got to scream and drop a galore of curse words, which is a huge deal.
It is sort of funny how the latest seasons of two big-ticket shows (the other one being HBO’s Succession) based their stories on huge corporate deals which are about to change everything.

Picking up from exactly where they left off last week, Apple TV’s The Morning Show returns with a deliciously dramatic, extremely eventual penultimate episode of the season, which sets up the course for an explosive finale. Filled with nail-biting tension, a lot of scheming and screaming, the surprise return of an old face, and Cory Ellison understandably losing his marbles, this episode is basically everything The Morning Show fans love to see in the show. Let us take a closer look.

She went from straight-a student to the star of Scandal, but always had a nagging doubt about her place in the world. Then the actor agreed to go on a US genealogy show - and discovered her own story wasn’t quite as it seemed …
That Kerry Washington comes from a seemingly perfect family is something to which I thought I could attest. Four years ago, on an icily grey day in New York City, I met the actor after watching her gut-wrenching performance on Broadway in the play American Son. I sat on a sofa on the vacated stage, in deep conversation with Washington’s parents, Earl and Valerie: she a professor, he a businessman, who had raised their daughter in a hard-working, predominantly black neighbourhood in the Bronx. I remember thinking how good-looking, charming and erudite they seemed. And Washington – gracious and gorgeous in real life – made so much sense as their offspring.
