Inspired by a true story, a comedy centered on a 27-year-old guy who learns of his cancer diagnosis and his subsequent struggle to beat the disease.

Director: Jonathan Levine | Stars: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard

Votes: 342,952 | Gross: $35.01M

One of the most beautiful movies, I've ever seen. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was just insanely awesome, alongwith the amazing Seth Rogen. A beautiful story about love, family and friends.

2. National Lampoon's Animal House (1978)

79 Metascore

At a 1962 college, Dean Vernon Wormer is determined to expel the entire Delta Tau Chi Fraternity, but those troublemakers have other plans for him.

Director: John Landis | Stars: John Belushi, Karen Allen, Tom Hulce, Stephen Furst

Votes: 129,354

I can't believe that it took me this long to watch such an amazing movie. I mean it's like all party, and no study. Pretty much my plans for the next four years. But all-together, a GREAT movie.

3. Begin Again (II) (2013)

R | 104 min | Comedy, Drama, Music

62 Metascore

A chance encounter between a down-and-out music business executive, and a young singer songwriter new to Manhattan, turns into a promising collaboration between the two talents.

Director: John Carney | Stars: Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine, Hailee Steinfeld

Votes: 166,977 | Gross: $16.17M

This must go as one of my all-time favorite movies. I mean, it's just solely based on music. And not just that nicki-minaj or bieber *beep* but real music that touches the soul. A must watch and I didn't know that Keira Knightly could actually sing. Her voice is amazing. And then, you've got Mark Ruffalo. Nothing but the best to expect from this guy and that's exactly what you get in this movie.

4. Brick (2005)

R | 110 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery

72 Metascore

A teenage loner pushes his way into the underworld of a high school crime ring to investigate the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend.

Director: Rian Johnson | Stars: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lukas Haas, Emilie de Ravin, Meagan Good

Votes: 110,062 | Gross: $2.06M

To be honest, it's a really confused yet surprisingly intense movie. With the high school and underground crime syndicate. Joseph Gordon-Levitt gave an amazing performance, once again.

5. Coach Carter (2005)

57 Metascore

Director: Thomas Carter | Stars: Samuel L. Jackson, Rick Gonzalez, Robert Ri'chard, Rob Brown

Votes: 172,152 | Gross: $67.26M

Literally, my favorite basketball movie of all time. I mean, this movie is just soo amazing. It's got like everything. Friends, sacrifice, love and most of all, Samuel L. Jackson. And if you ask me, this might be his best performance after Pulp Fiction. Simply amazing.

6. Dogma (1999)

R | 130 min | Adventure, Comedy, Drama

62 Metascore

An abortion clinic worker with a special heritage is called upon to save the existence of humanity from being negated by two renegade angels trying to exploit a loop-hole and reenter Heaven.

Director: Kevin Smith | Stars: Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Linda Fiorentino, Bud Cort

Votes: 228,692 | Gross: $30.65M

This has to go on as the most strangely-weird movie, I've ever seen. It's got an all-star cast with Affleck, Matt Damon and the guys from Clerks. An amazing movie. Very strange, though.

7. Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

PG-13 | 113 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

71 Metascore

Director: Doug Liman | Stars: Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Brendan Gleeson

Votes: 737,135 | Gross: $100.21M

Top 5 best movies of 2014, hands down. If this movie doesn't get nominated for an oscar, I'll be really disappointed. Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt were both equally thrilling in this one. Has to go down as an all-time favorite.

8. Friday (1995)

54 Metascore

It's Friday, and Craig and Smokey must come up with $200 they owe a local bully or there won't be a Saturday.

Director: F. Gary Gray | Stars: Ice Cube, Chris Tucker, Nia Long, Tom Lister Jr.

Votes: 124,602 | Gross: $27.47M

Only watched this movie because of "Daayyyuumm vine" of these two guys. But wasn't disappointed. A really good movie. Not just a comedy.

67 Metascore

A quietly troubled young man returns home for his mother's funeral after being estranged from his family for a decade.

Director: Zach Braff | Stars: Zach Braff, Peter Sarsgaard, Natalie Portman, Ian Holm

Votes: 223,215 | Gross: $26.78M

Okay, let me just get this through. Zach Braff is a really talented actor. He should really do more BIG movies. Not just the comedy, but also he got the drama part spot-on in this one. Great movie, plus Natalie Portman was kinda amazing too.

10. Happythankyoumoreplease (2010)

R | 100 min | Comedy, Drama, Romance

45 Metascore

Captures a generational moment - young people on the cusp of truly growing up, tiring of their reflexive cynicism, each in their own ways struggling to connect and define what it means to love and be loved.

Director: Josh Radnor | Stars: Josh Radnor, Malin Akerman, Zoe Kazan, Michael Algieri

Votes: 30,514 | Gross: $0.22M

Just like Zach Braff, Josh Radnor never really hit the heights except with How I Met Your Mother. People think that he's only up for the comedy, but I beg to differ and I have this movie as proof. Do watch it. Will surprise you.

11. How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014)

PG | 102 min | Animation, Action, Adventure

77 Metascore

Director: Dean DeBlois | Stars: Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson

Votes: 364,112 | Gross: $177.00M

I just can't get enough of these dragons. I mean I seriously want this franchise to continue until they get out like four or five parts. This one's even better than the first. The relationship of love and loyalty. is tested between Hiccup and Toothless. I'd be really surprised if this movie doesn't get best animated picture.

12. Insomnia (2002)

R | 118 min | Drama, Mystery, Thriller

78 Metascore

Two Los Angeles homicide detectives are dispatched to a northern town where the sun doesn't set to investigate the methodical murder of a local teen.

Director: Christopher Nolan | Stars: Al Pacino, Robin Williams, Hilary Swank, Martin Donovan

Votes: 319,217 | Gross: $67.36M

I watched all of Robin Williams' movies, after he passed away and this one, was by far the best of them. I have never seen Robin Williams play such a serious and negative role in a movie. He was like a childhood legend for me, in movies like Flubber and Jumanji, but this movie is utter greatness, I say. Still shivers me to the spine. A must watch.

13. Are You Here (2013)

R | 114 min | Comedy, Drama

37 Metascore

Two childhood best friends, one a superficial womanizer and the other a barely functioning bipolar, embark on a road trip back to their hometown after one of them learns his estranged father has died.

Director: Matthew Weiner | Stars: Owen Wilson, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler, Laura Ramsey

Votes: 16,685

Not really the movie people think, when they read the plot. And this is the only movie where two comedy greats, have actually failed to deliver. Absolutely not worth the time.

14. Coherence (2013)

Not Rated | 89 min | Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

65 Metascore

Strange things begin to happen when a group of friends gather for a dinner party on an evening when a comet is passing overhead.

Director: James Ward Byrkit | Stars: Emily Baldoni, Maury Sterling, Nicholas Brendon, Elizabeth Gracen

Votes: 146,097 | Gross: $0.07M

One of those few movies, that I actually had to watch twice to understand. The only reason this movie didn't get the heights was because lack of a good cast and not being directed by a famous directer. Other than that, this movie is worth a watch. You still don't know what just happened and that's how it goes all the way.

15. Locke (2013)

R | 85 min | Drama

83 Metascore

Ivan Locke, a dedicated family man and successful construction manager, receives a phone call on the eve of the biggest challenge of his career that sets in motion a series of events that threaten his carefully cultivated existence.

Director: Steven Knight | Stars: Tom Hardy, Olivia Colman, Ruth Wilson, Andrew Scott

Votes: 159,603 | Gross: $1.36M

I would really label this the only boring movie, that I actually liked. It's like only Tom Hardy the whole movie. No one else. Literally no one has a screen performance other than Hardy. Only the voice of the other actors can be heard. I'm on a 50/50 on this one whether to recommend this for watching or not.

16. Oculus (2013)

R | 104 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

61 Metascore

A recently released inmate from a mental asylum learns from his sister that the murders he was convicted of committing were actually orchestrated by a supernatural entity, the Lasser Glass mirror.

Director: Mike Flanagan | Stars: Karen Gillan, Brenton Thwaites, Katee Sackhoff, Rory Cochrane

Votes: 139,759 | Gross: $27.70M

It was a pretty dull movie from the start, but got better as it was building. It's like an okay movie. At a few parts, it could've been far better.

17. The Class of '92 (2013)

Not Rated | 99 min | Documentary, Sport

The story of six young footballers joining the Manchester United Football Club team in 1992 and the difference they made 1992-99.

Directors: Ben Turner, Gabe Turner | Stars: David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville

Votes: 8,803

Even if you're not a Manchester United or even a football fan, this movie is worth watching. It's practically a revelation. And those six guys were the ones who inspired a whole generation to come.

18. Bad Words (2013)

R | 89 min | Comedy, Drama

57 Metascore

A spelling bee loser sets out to exact revenge by finding a loophole and attempting to win as an adult.

Director: Jason Bateman | Stars: Jason Bateman, Kathryn Hahn, Allison Janney, Rohan Chand

Votes: 55,398 | Gross: $7.76M

Jason Bateman didn't really live up to his expectations. He's a really good actor, but in this movie his role was just too boring. The whole movie was boring. Not what you would expect from the trailer or the movie plot.

19. 500 Days of Summer (2009)

PG-13 | 95 min | Comedy, Drama, Romance

76 Metascore

After being dumped by the girl he believes to be his soulmate, hopeless romantic Tom Hansen reflects on their relationship to try and figure out where things went wrong and how he can win her back.

Director: Marc Webb | Stars: Zooey Deschanel, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Geoffrey Arend, Chloë Grace Moretz

Votes: 558,113 | Gross: $32.39M

Finally, they made a romantic-comedy without a happy ending. I mean this is what I always thought should be made. Pure originality. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is just too amazing in this one. My favorite movie of his. A GREAT movie. One of my all-time favorite.

20. L.A. Confidential (1997)

R | 138 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery

Director: Curtis Hanson | Stars: Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, Kim Basinger

Votes: 617,956 | Gross: $64.62M

I don't think that I even need to say anything about this movie. How could you not watch it ? Russell Crowe, Kevin Spacey and Guy Pearce all in one movie. Watch it now, if you haven't.

21. Afflicted (2013)

R | 85 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

56 Metascore

Two best friends see their trip of a lifetime take a dark turn when one of them is struck by a mysterious affliction. Now, in a foreign land, they race to uncover the source before it consumes him completely.

Directors: Derek Lee, Clif Prowse | Stars: Clif Prowse, Derek Lee, Michael Gill, Baya Rehaz

Votes: 25,594 | Gross: $0.12M

This movie could have been so much better, if they didn't destroy almost the last half of the movie. A really good movie from the start and till the half, it was like really interesting. But then, it got too predictable and dull. One of the most bizarre endings of all time. Movie could really have been alot better.

22. Let's Be Cops (2014)

R | 104 min | Action, Comedy, Crime

30 Metascore

Two struggling pals dress as police officers for a costume party and become neighborhood sensations. But when these newly-minted "heroes" get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.

Director: Luke Greenfield | Stars: Jake Johnson, Damon Wayans Jr., Rob Riggle, Nina Dobrev

Votes: 139,970 | Gross: $82.39M

HAHAHAHAHA ! Couldn't stop laughing even after I watched this movie. They don't make comedy movies like these, which have an actual story. But this one lived more than it's expectations. Deserves a better rating and much more recognition. Amazingly-Hilarious !

23. Little Miss Sunshine (2006)

R | 101 min | Comedy, Drama

80 Metascore

A family determined to get their young daughter into the finals of a beauty pageant take a cross-country trip in their VW bus.

Directors: Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris | Stars: Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Greg Kinnear, Abigail Breslin

Votes: 518,198 | Gross: $59.89M

So after many years, I finally watched this movie. Was never impressed with the plot nor the trailer, but I was wrong. This movie was far too amazing to be left out. Steve Carell and Paul Dano were the standout performers of this one. A must watch.

24. Joe (I) (2013)

R | 117 min | Crime, Drama, Thriller

74 Metascore

An ex-con, who is the unlikeliest of role models, meets a 15-year-old boy and is faced with the choice of redemption or ruin.

Director: David Gordon Green | Stars: Nicolas Cage, Tye Sheridan, Gary Poulter, Ronnie Gene Blevins

Votes: 51,213 | Gross: $0.37M

I never quite understood this movie. A really bizarre one at that, too. When I saw the trailer, I thought that finally Nicholas Cage would pull off a dramatic performance, but how wrong I was. Not worth the watch. Trust me.

25. If I Stay (2014)

PG-13 | 107 min | Drama, Fantasy, Music

Votes: 128,262 | Gross: $50.47M

Don't know what to say about this one. Another 50/50 to watch or not to. Didn't really impress me as much as it should have.

The life of Mason, from early childhood to his arrival at college.

Director: Richard Linklater | Stars: Ellar Coltrane, Patricia Arquette, Ethan Hawke, Elijah Smith

Votes: 367,195 | Gross: $25.38M

Now, this is a classic. 12 years to make one movie and it was worth the wait. An amazing movie about love, friends and family. And not our usual bizarro crap. Ethan Hawke for me was stand-out performer in this movie. Should be nominated for best supporting actor this year.

27. Into the Storm (2014)

PG-13 | 89 min | Action, Adventure, Drama

44 Metascore

Storm trackers, thrill-seekers, and everyday townspeople document an unprecedented onslaught of tornadoes touching down in the town of Silverton.

Director: Steven Quale | Stars: Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Walsh, Max Deacon

YOU TALKIN' TO ME ? YOU TALKIN' TO ME ? My favorite De Niro movie of all time. He's a revelation in this movie. Too good to pass out on.

30. Hercules (I) (2014)

PG-13 | 98 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy

47 Metascore

Having endured his legendary twelve labors, Hercules, the Greek demigod, has his life as a sword-for-hire tested when the King of Thrace and his daughter seek his aid in defeating a tyrannical warlord.

Director: Brett Ratner | Stars: Dwayne Johnson, John Hurt, Ian McShane, Joseph Fiennes

Votes: 164,402 | Gross: $72.69M

One of the biggest disappointments of 2014. When I saw Dwayne Johnson being cast as Hercules, I thought that he would be perfect. Plus, the trailer was near-perfect too. But it was nothing like we expected. Nothing at all. No super-cool monsters or any of Hercules' powers. He's a money-grabbing mercenary, for god's sake. This movie is an utter disgrace to the original story of the real Hercules.

31. Step Up All In (2014)

45 Metascore

All-stars from the previous Step Up installments come together in glittering Las Vegas, battling for a victory that could define their dreams and their careers.

Director: Trish Sie | Stars: Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Adam Sevani, Misha Gabriel Hamilton

Votes: 36,044 | Gross: $14.90M

This one was like my least-favorite of all the step-up movies. As usual, without a story. Sigh. They should seriously stop now. No more step up. Please. Have some respect for the ones that were actually good.

32. Wish I Was Here (2014)

43 Metascore

A struggling actor, father and husband finds himself at a major crossroads, which forces him to examine his life, his family and his career.

Director: Zach Braff | Stars: Zach Braff, Joey King, Pierce Gagnon, Kate Hudson

Votes: 39,089 | Gross: $3.59M

Now, this is a movie that you should definitely watch. As I said earlier, Zach Braff is an amazing actor and he is worth watching in this one.

33. 22 Jump Street (2014)

71 Metascore

After making their way through high school (twice), big changes are in store for officers Schmidt and Jenko when they go deep undercover at a local college.

Votes: 406,203 | Gross: $191.72M

Woah ! One of the best movies of 2014. And one of my all-time favorite too. Also, you can't expect anything but the best from Brad and Doug McQuaid. Work hard, play hard.

34. Deliver Us from Evil (I) (2014)

New York police officer Ralph Sarchie investigates a series of crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest, schooled in the rites of exorcism, to combat the possessions that are terrorizing their city.

Director: Scott Derrickson | Stars: Eric Bana, Edgar Ramírez, Olivia Munn, Chris Coy

Votes: 85,728 | Gross: $30.58M

Could've been better. Had a great plot and was quite original. But some parts were purely predictable and quite bizarre. Eric Bana never really quite impressed me though, but pulls off a really nice performance in this one.

35. Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)

PG-13 | 165 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi

32 Metascore

When humanity allies with a bounty hunter in pursuit of Optimus Prime, the Autobots turn to a mechanic and his family for help.

Director: Michael Bay | Stars: Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz Beckham, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci

Votes: 331,688 | Gross: $245.44M

Without a doubt, I guess the biggest disappointment of 2014 and also of the Transformers franchise. Even the third one wasn't this one. When I first heard about this, I thought that they were going to make a prequel which would've been so much better. This one was just disappointing. Three hours of literally nothing. No plot. No story. The only highlight of this movie were the dino-bots.

36. Changeling (2008)

R | 141 min | Biography, Crime, Drama

63 Metascore

Director: Clint Eastwood | Stars: Angelina Jolie, Colm Feore, Amy Ryan, Gattlin Griffith

Votes: 265,301 | Gross: $35.74M

Angelina Jolie was completely fantastic in this one. Played the role of a worried and desperate mother in search of her child, perfectly and beautifully. She definitely deserved the oscar.

A man seeks out his exact look-alike after spotting him in a movie.

Director: Denis Villeneuve | Stars: Jake Gyllenhaal, Mélanie Laurent, Sarah Gadon, Isabella Rossellini

Votes: 215,265 | Gross: $1.01M

Another disappointment for me. Jake Gyllenhaal never seem to disappoint me before, but in this one, his acting was just okay. Not a good movie overall.

38. Automata (I) (2014)

R | 109 min | Action, Drama, Sci-Fi

37 Metascore

Human race is at edge of the end. Robot race is at edge of the beginning.

Director: Gabe Ibáñez | Stars: Antonio Banderas, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Dylan McDermott, Melanie Griffith

Votes: 59,401

Seriously, nowadays I hate when people make these kind of movies. No story, no plot. Just make the movie. I mean, come on. I didn't even watch this movie till the end. Sucked real bad.

39. The Expendables 3 (2014)

PG-13 | 126 min | Action, Adventure, Thriller

35 Metascore

Director: Patrick Hughes | Stars: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Antonio Banderas

Votes: 196,231 | Gross: $39.32M

I really thought that this one would be perfect. I mean with Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford and most of all, Mel Gibson playing the negative role. But this one was the biggest disappointment of them all. No story. The director just thought of action, action and action. And that is the reason why this movie was really bad. But Antonio Banderas was the stand-out performer.

56 Metascore

A sports agent stages an unconventional recruitment strategy to get talented Indian cricket players to play Major League Baseball.

Director: Craig Gillespie | Stars: Jon Hamm, Aasif Mandvi, Alan Arkin, Suraj Sharma

Votes: 47,851 | Gross: $36.45M

A good movie. One of those a bit above average movies. I really don't like John Hamm. Don't know why but I just don't. Other than that, it's a good movie.

41. Big Fish (2003)

PG-13 | 125 min | Adventure, Drama, Fantasy

58 Metascore

A frustrated son tries to determine the fact from fiction in his dying father's life.

Director: Tim Burton | Stars: Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney, Billy Crudup, Jessica Lange

Votes: 458,961 | Gross: $66.26M

All I can say about this movie is Originality. A pure and true movie, at that too. From the start till the end, never seemed to linger off into some other crap. And Ewan McGregor was amazing. So amazing.

42. The Purge: Anarchy (2014)

R | 103 min | Action, Horror, Sci-Fi

50 Metascore

Three groups of people intertwine and are left stranded in the streets on Purge Night, trying to survive the chaos and violence that occurs.

Director: James DeMonaco | Stars: Frank Grillo, Carmen Ejogo, Zach Gilford, Kiele Sanchez

Votes: 162,308 | Gross: $71.96M

I will say the same thing about this one, as I said of the previous Purge. It sucked. Huge disappointment. There never was any true motive in this movie. Same as the first one. Do not watch. Waste of time.

43. Earth to Echo (2014)

53 Metascore

After receiving a bizarre series of encrypted messages, a group of kids embark on an adventure with an alien who needs their help.

Director: Dave Green | Stars: Teo Halm, Astro, Reese Hartwig, Ella Wahlestedt

Votes: 19,781 | Gross: $38.92M

I waited really long for this one. But like most movies of 2014, this one too was a HUGE disappointment. The trailer was just perfect. But the execution was not even near that.

44. Frank (II) (2014)

R | 95 min | Comedy, Drama, Music

75 Metascore

Jon, a young wanna-be musician, discovers he's bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank.

Director: Lenny Abrahamson | Stars: Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Moira Brooker

Votes: 82,378 | Gross: $0.64M

I have mixed feelings about this one. It's good and it's bad. Michael Fassbender was terrific, as always. Domhnall Gleeson also deserves alot of credit. But I think that the ending was quite poor. Could have been a great movie.

45. Maleficent (2014)

56 Metascore

A vengeful fairy is driven to curse an infant princess, only to discover that the child could be the one person who can restore peace to their troubled land.

Director: Robert Stromberg | Stars: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Lesley Manville

Votes: 400,317 | Gross: $241.41M

What can I say? Just another disney movies. Good movie, but couldn't been better. Execution wasn't as good as I expected. But worth a watch, still.

46. The Goonies (1985)

Votes: 298,471 | Gross: $61.50M

I've been waiting to watch this movie since like forever. And when I finally watched it, it was worth it. Not like just another story full of kids finding treasure. Much more than that. I repeat, much more.

47. The Help (2011)

HAHA! Laughed my head off so many times while watching this. For me, Craig Robinson pulled off the stand-out performance. Rogen and Banks were good too. A really really fun movie to watch. And that cameo by Justin Long. Amazing.
